THE WATER FIELD!
Five large platforms float on the surface of the deep pool, four forming a diamond formation around the single platform in the center. While land pokemon can move around on this field, it was mainly built for water-types. Rules prevent the freezing of the water. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to WATER type attacks.This field also reduces damage from FIRE type attacks by 25 HP

Renekai bounced up to her trainer's box, watching the field. It was just blank concrete, but then, she had come early. Sure enough, the field started to rumble, and it quickly filled up with water. Platforms bobbed up to the surface where pokemon could stand, if they had to. But Renekai's pokemon didn't have to.
"All right! Come on out, Dreydonna!"
Dreydonna burst out of her pokeball cackling. Water field, eh? Oh, she hoped that her opponent would be forced to balance on those unstable floaties! She cackled with glee at the prospect, taking her place over the water.

LizDuck stood in the trainer box she had been designated and couldn't help but bite her lip. She was nervous. This was her very first trainer battle and it was definitely rather intimidating. At least with wild Pokemon battles, things weren't so formal. Glancing over the edge of her trainer box, she saw her reflection in the water. That was all she needed to see in order to realize she needed to put a performer's smile on.
Glancing across the way, she saw the trainer had sent out a Gastly. Seeing as most of her team consisted of normal-type Pokemon, it probably wouldn't be too big of a problem to fight it. She reached into the pocket of her apron and pulled out a Pokeball.
"Kryptonite! It's time to perform!" she called out as she tossed it towards one of the floating platforms.
The gray Eevee appeared along the edge of the floating platform. There were two things which the Pokemon noticed right away. One: his brother wasn't out along side him. Two: something didn't feel right about what he was standing on.
"Vee?" Kryptonite asked as he peered over the edge of the platform. There was water and a reflection staring right back at him.
"Do your best!" the idol called out to her Pokemon before waving an arm in greeting to the other trainer and Pokemon on the field.

"Good luck, 'Donna," Renekai said quietly to her Gastly. She waved and smiled to the other trainer. This would be an interesting battle...
Dreydonna's grin widened when she saw her opponent. A shiny eevee! How cute. Maybe it was afraid to get wet! She cackled and flipped upside down, long tongue dangling out of her mouth.

The Eevee finally looked up and found a Gastly just floating around the vicinity. It seemed like it was apparently time to battle. The silvery Pokemon couldn't help but wag his tail in excitement.
"Vee Eevee Vee!" Kryptonite said in a determined manner before awaiting his trainer's command. It would seem like it would take a little while to get used to the movement of the floor.
LizDuck, once given the go ahead to start the battle, glanced to the field and began to think about what attacks she could use. Ghosts couldn't be affected by a lot of Kryptonite's attacks, and the field wouldn't allow her to use dig.
"Let's get things started! Jump up and Bite that Pokemon while you are in the air!" The idol couldn't help but feel butterflies in her stomach. Was she doing this all right? Would this attack even do anything? Her brown eyes just watched the field to see what would happen.
The elder of LizDuck's Eevees nodded his head, then began to run towards the Gastly. He seemed a little wobbly, but who wouldn't be from such an unstable floor. When close enough, he'd jump up (just as his trainer requested), his little teeth bared and ready to bite...
...however, all he'd get was air in his mouth as he landed on another platform.

When Renekai saw that Kryptonite had missed, she grinned and called, "Captivate!"
Dreydonna did her best to make herself less spooky and swirled down around Kryptonite. She winked at him before floating off once more. That attack was no fun! But at least he wouldn't do his best to hurt her, now.

Wait, what was that? And why did he feel so strange? The Eevee shook his head, but for some reason that didn't fix the problem.
This trainer seemed to know what she was doing. Fidgeting a bit with her apron, LizDuck tried to think of another attack for her Pokemon. She winced a bit at the thought of using this one, since Bob had been well known for abusing this attack, but she felt there was no other choice...
"Kryptonite, use Fake Tears!"
The Eevee knew the power of falsely crying. His brother had done it many a time when they were younger. Yet as the older sibling, he never really got the chance to use it, until now.
Looking to the Gastly with big puppy-like eyes, Kryptonite let out a few big tears from his eyes, along with a couple of whining calls: "Vee... veee!!!"

"That didn't work well for us... Lick!" Renekai commanded.
Dreydonna, usually impervious to any attempts her prey might make to seem pitiful, felt an unusual throb around where her heart might be. Poor thing! It was crying! Dreydonna looked confused, and as if she might even comfort her opponent.
"'Donna!" Renekai repeated, "Lick!"
Dreydonna wobbled in midair, copying Kryptonite's own attempts to clear his mind, then proceeded to attack her opponent. This being Dreydonna's favorite attack, she slowly let out her tongue, waggled it in an exaggerated fashion, and promptly disappeared. Soon, she popped back into existence from above Kryptonite and dove down, tongue flailing.

Why was she suddenly thinking of a puppy Pokemon based off the attack? LizDuck shook her head a bit to snap herself back to reality.
"Kryptonite, Roll over and dodge that tongue!"
Peeking a blue eye at the ghost Pokemon, the Eevee stuck out its tongue in a cheeky fashion before obediently doing as told, rolling over like a dog might in order to dodge the other Pokemon's attack. It was a narrow escape, but he avoided that slobbery tongue.
"Eevee!!"
"Good, now while it is off-guard, hit it with Shadow Ball!" LizDuck instructed quickly, hoping that indeed they could catch their opponent off guard.
Nodding his head, he concentrated a bit as a bit of a darkish aura appeared in front of him. That aura seemed to crackle with a dark energy, then suddenly was hurled from the little Eevee at the Gastly.

((You are, unfortunately for me, correct. And it failed again. I think I'll lose this battle... Stupid gastlies have no Fight-type attacks...))
"Gas!" Dreydonna gasped, hit by the attack that she had so often used.
"Never mind; Lick!" Renekai called desperately. This would go badly if Kryptonite was not paralyzed soon.
Dreydonna flew at Kryptonite, ready to lick him hard, or at least push him into the water.

The idol's fingers clenched into her apron a bit as the Gastly's tongue seemed to search for some revenge. "Run around it and dodge the attack!" she called out.
Hopping back to his feet, Kryptonite proceeded to start running around in a circle around the Gastly. Maybe his trainer was hoping it would confuse the other Pokemon? However, he doubted it was this, since LizDuck rarely thought that far ahead.
"Okay, now do a backflip and toss a Shadow Ball at it!"
Oh, that had been the motivation all along. His trainer was learning about Coordinating recently, so now the Pokemon got to suffer.
"Eve!" he called out as he jumped up while forming the dark energy. He flipped back, and when his forepaws touched the floor, the energy shot towards Dreydonna again.

Dreydonna recovered from the hit and dove once more, beginning to get frustrated. Just get paralyzed, already! It was no fun otherwise.

Kryptonite didn't need to be told yet again to get back moving. Once more, he began to try and run circles around the other Pokemon. It would seem he was finally starting to get used to the lack of stability beneath his feet.
"Good!"
Same attack 3 times in a row? LizDuck quirked her brow a bit. She had even been hesitant to do the same attack 2 times in a row. Speaking of which, she couldn't do the same thing yet again. Instead, she tried the attack she initially wanted to do at the beginning.
"Let's try Bite one more time, Kryptonite!"
Once more, the oddly colored Eevee bared his teeth and jumped at the blob of purple gas. Maybe this time his teeth would make contact?
