Andrew picked a few random notes on his guitar, focusing on trying to get a new chord. His apartment had lost all of its inspiring appeal, and since he was trying to get his first EP over and done with, he took his guitar to the park and sat on a bench.

Little kids were playing around him, and he couldn't get the chord right. A woman walked by with a dog the size of his hand, and he couldn't get the chord right. A homeless man asked him for change, and he gave it to him. But he couldn't get the chord right.

Sighing heavily, Andrew ran his fingers through his dark hair as he gently balanced his guitar on his lap. Maybe the park wasn't the best place to find new melodies and harmonies. Maybe he should've gone to a bar, or a coffee shop, or a night club, or...

No. It was the park or his apartment. The park was simple, pure. Bars were dingy and usually smelled stale. Not his ideal writing space.

He put his fingers back onto the neck of the guitar and strummed out a chord that he already knew. Drop D tuning, with his lucky pick. Should've been perfect for him to think up something new. But no ideas came.

So instead, he prided himself on re-tuning his guitar to regular tuning and playing, and singing, "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" by JET. Great song.

He had taken another trip to the park, wanting desperately to get out of the house where his sister hadbeen bombarding his phone with messages and bullshit. He truly hated her sometimes, because she was trying so hard to get him to put in a good word and make her a star too.
Hell no. This was his thing.

But he tooka deep breath, the chilly air going into his nostrils seemed to relax him, and he continued on his walk, hands stuffed in the pockets of his leather jacket, and walking slowly.

'Are you gonna be my girl'
And his head was directed towards the bench where the guy was singing. Smiling, he walked over to the bench, sat down, and shookhis head.

"No,sorry, I think Id make a far less attractive girl."
Then he held out his hand.
"Oz, Oz parker."

Andrew stopped singing and playing as the random guy came and sat next to him, laughing at his comment. Any guy that could make a comment like that to a kid playing his guitar in the park was okay in Andrew's book.

He took Oz's hand in his own and shook it politely. "Andrew Brandt," he said in return, completely oblivious. Who was Oz? Andrew had never seen him before in his life. He had the looks of someone who could be on TV, or maybe even the movies... but, alas, Andrew had yet to purchase a working television. Oh well. Oz was probably just a regular guy, taking a stroll in the park.

"What's up, bro?" Andrew asked conversationally, taking off his guitar strap and putting the ancient acoustic into its case, nonchalantly tossing his lucky pick in after it. He didn't feel like playing anymore; he wasn't going to get any inspiration from anything out here today.

The thought that his EP needed to be completely recorded within the next week or two lingered in the back of his mind as he attemped small-talk with Oz.

He smiled, shaking the boys hand with a firm grip before releasing it.

"That was pretty good Andrew, with talent like that..Im surprised you havent auditioned at Walk of Fame."
He said with a nod. He was in need of person to person chat, without scripts and roles.

"I auditioned, almost..A year ago now? And theyve done pretty good getting me hooked up."
He said with a nod.
Truth was, he was very close to being considered famous, and gaining a whole new outlook on his career.

"Nothing much really, dude. I mean, Ive been hasseled by a b***h of a sister via phone all day,so I decided to do something else."

Andrew's eyes widened a bit. Oz was a Walk of Fame client? He probably should've kept up with the list of clients and celebrities and such, but he just couldn't find the time... hm. Interesting.

"Oh, I was just accepted into Walk of Fame," he continued conversationally, while his mind was still trying to grasp that they were both part of the same agency, and that the guy sitting next to him was almost famous. "They probably thought the same during my audition... killing me, though, with this EP due by the new year."

He flicked his hair out of his eyes, settling back into the bench and relaxing further. "So, what do you do? Like, what were you accepted for? I've never seen you around anywhere, but that might just be because I don't have a TV..." He chuckled a little.

Andrew felt as though he just crowned himself King of Lametown. Come on, he felt like the only guy in the world at the moment without a TV. But, no matter. Oz seemed pretty down-to-earth.

He smiled and chuckled a bit. "Wow really, If I didnt call it.." He said with a narrowed eye and another chuckle.

"Yeah, I star on Turn of a Century, and have a few movie roles here and there."
He said with anod.
"But, Ive been on Ella Degenerate, and have a few upcoming bigger roles, so Im doingalright. The agency is an awesome start."

He didnt watch much tv, he may have had one, but he was never home often enough to watch it.

"Ah, but without hard work, comes little satisfaction."

Andrew nodded his head and quirked an eyebrow. "I couldn't agree more," he said with a smile. "But without great pain comes mediocre work."

He reached down to his guitar case, rummaging through the back of the nylon pack he had attached to it and pulling out two Pepsis. He held one up to Oz. "Want one?" he asked, putting it on the bench as he unscrewed his own cap. Yay for caffeine.

"Turn of a Century?" he began aloud, taking a sip from his own bottle and replacing the cap. "That's a soap, right?" The King of Lametown was proving he deserved the crown.

"Is Ella Degenerate as crazy as I've heard?" he asked after a moment, a little hesitant. Back home in Seattle, before he'd relocated to Los Demones, he'd managed to catch a single episode of the show while he was making dinner for his mother. Ella seemed a tad... hyper... for his tastes.

He laughed a nice booming male laugh and nodded.
"Oh, thats too true."

Then he held out his hand, taking hte pepsi, and thanking him.

"Ah yes!Ive been meaning to get something to drink. But I forgot when I saw the park and decided to walk over here."

He unscrewed the cap, taking a few gulps, before putting the lid back on and placing it right on the ground beside the bench.

"Dont let me forget that." He said smiling.

Ah, Ella, what a delight she had been.
"Personally, I enjoyed her interviewing me for the most secretive details of my life..Because she was trying to make it seem like that wasnt what she was doing."
He said laughing.

Andrew watched him place his drink on the ground, then nodded, holding up two fingers. "Scouts' Honor, I won't forget to remind you."

He listened intently to what Oz had to say about Ella. She seemed like every other interviewer he'd ever heard of; probing and sneaking about, trying to secretly get details that they knew the interviewee didn't really want to tell, in a way that made the interviewee feel safe and secure. All bullshit, in his opinion.

"I'm going to wait to do major interviews until after my EP is released," he said aloud, almost to himself. "Because, really, what do I have to show for myself so far? A kid from Puerto Rico, moved to Seattle and lived with his mum until he was old enough to move out, then got signed to a talent agency, moved to Los Demones, and spent a few weeks holed up in his apartment." He snorted. "Not much, yet."

His phone buzzed in his pocket, a reminder that it was now time for him to return back to his apartment. But he didn't feel like going back; it was much too early, and he was finally starting to connect to someone else, Oz. Writing could wait.

"You want to walk?" he asked, looking from Oz to the winding path, leading right through a huge wooded area on the outskirts of the park. Oh, the fun he could have in the dark woods, playing tricks like he used to in Seattle. "I need to do something, anything. Just don't forget your soda."

"Yeah, its good to have a gameplan before intereviews. Things you wont say, things you will say, all that stuff.Cause if you go in unprepared, you will be in trouble.
That guy, Lorenz Milton, called me gay in his blog."
He snorted with laughter.
How anyone could think Oz was gay was beyond him, specially when the Bret in question had been female.

"Sure thing."
He said, standing, grabbing the drink, and started off down the path.
Looking over at Andrew he shoved his hands back in his pockets.

"So, what kinda stuff do you like doing?"
He asked..Really wanting to cause trouble or do something fun..How long had it been since he had?

Andrew snorted, from laughter and disgust. Those tabloids were never his favorite... waiting in line at the grocery store, his arms full of as many packs of ramen as he deemed sane and maybe an apple or two, watching the fat old women ahead of him squeal over which celebrity got a nose job, who's getting married, and which D-list star is getting her own TV show.

He hoped it'd never be like that for him.

"Gossip columnists can kiss my a**," he said jokingly, getting up from the bench and picking up his guitar case, fitting his left arm through the one of the loops of fabric on the back to carry it.

He shrugged when Oz asked what he liked doing. "Playing music, of course," he said, staring at his feet as he kicked a rock in the middle of the path. Suddenly, he looked up, catching Oz's eye and grinning from ear to ear. "Back home, in Seattle, my best mate Eric and I would go into the woods by the skate park and scare little skater punks. Jumping out of trees when they rode by was always a blast." He wiggled his eyebrows excitedly. Oh, how he missed tormenting little kids that thought they were cooler than they actually were.

He particularly liked tabloids, even if it was only if he wasnt in them..Or if he was, it better damn well be something good and not completely false..Which..that never happened so it didnt matter too much.

"As long as they arent about you they can be entertaining."
He said with a nod and a laugh.

Of course hed answer playing music. When Oz had been starting out, he did nothing but act, rehearse, and push to get further.. NOw that he was slightly higher, he was ableto relax on it a bit more. Though he still worked impossibly hard to keep himself out there.

"That sounds entertaining. Almostl ike what I used to do. Or, what I still enjoy doing."
He said wtih a grin.
He had always been the mischevious one.
