If anybody's read xkcd (comic 162) this is what SDRE Day is based on. On December 13, 2009, we spin counterclockwise for one minute at 14:15 (or clockwise, if you're in the southern hemisphere). I don't know if this will actually work, but let's try it anyways!!

When you say we, do you mean us as a person? Or the earth? But if its people, I think it would be interesting. I don't think it would cause a large slow down, but than again, I'm not an expert at that stuff.

Not a large slow down at all, but the event is also to celebrate 2009 as the 400th anniversary of astronomy.

This is utterly bizarre. However, I do intend to FORCE my physics class to partake in this (if it is a school day). Otherwise, I'll just rant about it for a while. It would be interesting if you did see hundreds of people spinning round seemingly spontaneously.

oh my! sounds EXACTLY like the kind of spontaneous, crazy, seemingly pointless thing i would do!!! sounds like funn!
count me in xd
one problem though 14:15 in one place may not be the same time in another place so do we do it at 14:15 in our native time zone? or all at the same time exactly, in which case (if not the time zone u already stated) it would be best to state the time in UTC
