She sat under the shade of the cliffs. Her tail swished with annoyance, as she watched the spirit dance around. Isis couldn't but help to notice she felt as though there was something missing. The morning had gone quite nicely, but she just couldn't shake the feeling. Only recently she had aged, and now Isis was confused. Confused about what, she didn't know. She was just confused.
Anise was tucked up in the treetops. Tomo playing the flute, as he danced around. He was trying to take Isis' mind off of other things. Though he just seemed to be bothering her more. The wise owl had tried speaking with her companion as well, though she could attain nothing of importance as to what was bothering the young adult painter.

Leer sat at the top of the canyon looking down as the last rays of soft pink sunrise gave away to blue. a strong wind blew up from the canyon and whistled past his ears making it hard for him to think. right now this is exactly what he needed. all month his head had been filled with silly ideas, and his stomach churning with emotions. he just could not take it any more. the canyons loud winds always provided him with a sense of peace and quite. the winds drown out any emotions or silly thoughts.

Isis closed her eyes. She knew they were only trying to help her. But the confused feelings that had been bugging her, she didn't want to discuss with either of her familiars. Opening her eyes, she watched Tomo letting a small soft smile touch her lips. Isis listened to the soothing music, finally letting her troubles calm down a small fraction.
Tomo played louder, as the wind blew. He could see the painter was relaxing. How long it would last, he didn't know, but he hoped it would be a while. At least until she fell asleep. Anise puffed up against the blowing wind. To the others it was no big deal, but to her it felt like flurry around her. Her feathers being ruffled and messed with when she didn't want it, it all irritated her. Deciding to fly toward the sky, and finding a better spot to watch them from, Anise flew toward the tops of the canyons. Settling in an overhanging branch on the side of the cliff, the wind seemed to calm then whip up again.

Leer sat letting the wind whip across his face. he could feel thought s and memories creeping up on him. he tried to shut them out, but the harder he tried, the stronger they came on. a scene with an oasis flashed across his mind, but he shut it out. he could not deal with that now. besides, the chances of him ever finding her again were a milion to one. No, he ad to stop thinking of her! he felt the wind die down and took the opertunity. Leer jumped off the egde of the cliff into a full dive. with his wings tight at his sides he closed his eyes and started to count. one...two...three...his eyes opened, and he lashed out his wings at the last second before he hit the ground. his muscles strained and pulled to bring him to a stop. he flew back to the top and settled next to an odd looking branch. were those feathers? he shook the branch really hard to see if anything was in it.

Isis listened intently. Every time her eyes were shut and she heard the flute playing, the memories of him came back. From the time they met, to the time they departed. She held onto the memories, even if they bothered her, they also brought a happy feeling as well.
Anise flapped her wings madly, as the bush shook. She tried to catch the air, but wasn't far enough away from the cliff to take off with a safe landing. "Hey, cool it," she cooed flapping hard. Managing to hop onto the nearest cliff, Anise looked at all of the feathers she lost. "I'll have to repreen myself," she said to herself. Then her eye caught sight of the painter. Her eyes lit up, though she didn't say a word.

Leer burst out laughing at the sight of the ruffled owl. she looked like a messy puff with all her feathers sticking out. "oh, gee, haha, im terribly sorry. i had no idea that there was an owl in that bush, you looked more like a nest to me. if you want i can help clean you up. i have an feathered painter friend and i help him preen all the time. haha" he took another look at the owl and felt his stomach churn. he knew this owl. "oh, my, i think i know you! yes i do! forgive me if im wrong, but i swear you have the same coloring as a friend of mine! your painter wouldn't happen to be Isis would it?"

"No harm done, and I thank you for the offer, bu I'll be fine," Anise smiled lightly. She peered over the edge, and down at the tiny figures. They were still there, that was good. She laughed with him, beginning to organize the ruffled feathers. "Why yes she is, she's just below us as well," Anise smiled as she peered over once more.

Leer's mouth dropped open in unbelief and outmost joy. he squealed with excitment and jumped over the edge of the cliff. he wanted to make a good impression so he dived right at Isis. he waited till he was about to hit her head, and pulled up at the last minute. he landed across from her and smiled. "Hey, do you remember me?"

Anise was shocked as he was over and gone. She smiled to herself, and followed behind. Forgetting she looked like a disaster, she hopped on over to another branch to settle in for a while.
Isis' eyes snapped open. She felt the gust of wind above her head then looked to see a painter across from her. Her mouth was open in disbelief. Those two beautiful eyes, she'd never forget. "Leer!" she nearly started dancing. Her heart lifted, as she settled herself back down. "I'd never forget you," Isis stood up coming toward him. She thought she was imagining it, but as she used the tip of her tail to brush against his cheek, Isis smiled softly. "I can't believe you're right in front if me."

Leer chuckled deeply as he put his wing around her shoulder. "well, its me. and i am really here. i was wondering if i would ever find you again. when i shook anise out of that bush up there i about fell off the cliff, because i knew you would not be far away." he smiled at her, and in his smile he let all of him hope and joy show.

Isis smiled and snuggled close to him. "I thought the same of you. I guess it's good to have her around," she eyed the green owl and shook her head. "She looks like a puffball, how hard did you say you shook that bush?" Isis laughed lightly. She looked to see his smile, and saw his hope and joy. "I've really missed you," she said leaning softly into him. Anise glared, but thought nothing of the teasing. At least her painter was smiling. She watched Tomo, as he sat, leaning up against a rock. He looked silly with his flute still stuck in his mouth and no music.

Leer laughed. "i sure have missed you too, but now we are together." as he pulled her closer he noticed isis's familiar with the flute. "i see you have another familiar. he looks almost as reduculs as anise with his flute in his mouth like that. can he really play it?"

Isis nodded, as she nuzzled his cheek gently. "Yes. I found him in a cave among the cliffs while taking refuge during a nasty storm," she smiled and laughed. "He plays very well, he's very amusing if he dances along too."

Leer laughed at the thought of the familiar dancing well, i found this little baby thing one day while sitting back at the oasis. he came up to me and jabbed me with his corn insisting that i ate it. finally i ate it to shut him up, and as soon as i did he ran away. leer shrugged and laughed, removing his wing from around isis he was a strange one, and i havent seen him since...hey, you want to go flying again, like old times?

Isis laughed lightly at the thought of him eating the corn just to please the baby. "Well I'd love to see your familiar then when he's around, I've seen the baby things with others before. They're so cute," she nodded then glanced back at her two familiar. "I'd love to fly again, I haven't much in the past couple of weeks. My wings need a good stretch," Isis flapped them lightly causing some sand to stir around their feet.
