and I, a sophomore, won She hasn't been to band since, and now she's talking so much crap about me, it's pretty hilarious
We're thinking she's not coming so she doesn't get challenged for her other solo so she can keep it, but that's going to just backfire because our BD will end up giving me the solo because she hasn't been coming to rehearse it...
Anywho... Anyone have anything happen to them like that? :]

ha nice...
i am a 8th grader and i challenged me section leader who is a 12th grader and i won-our BD was so shocked b/c he thought i dont ever play-my section leader didnt come to marching band practice for atleast a month b/c he was so embarrased it was so funny; but i feel bad for him b/c i have enough skills to play better than a proffesional tuba player

Congrats on that. I've been in advanced bands since ive been playing the trumpet and ive always gotten first chair. So I was shocked when i got into regionals my freshman year (now a senior) for my first time. Then shocked again when my new DBD (dumbass BD) placed me 3rd chair. I showed him though and worked my way up to first without loosing a single challenge.
