Hey! guess what happened on the way home yesterday. I left work around 4:30 P.M. and no sooner pulled out of the driveway at the lake when a bobcat pounced out in front of the truck and stood there in the snow as if to say "I dare you to try and hit me with your beast". !!! Dam !!! I just packed the camera and when I reached for the box it was in, the bobcat sprang out of sight. gonk

That would have been an awesome photo! I always miss the perfect photo opportunities! How sad your camera was so close too! At least you got to see it, and up close! I've never seen one, except at the Zoo.
We saw a male deer with an awesome display of antlers across the street at the bottom of our street, ambling up the rocky hillside. We got to watch it for quite a while before it was out of sight. We quite often see 4-5 female deer bounding across the road near the horse stables, golf course, or canyon roads, but this is the first male! And sometimes we see coyotes (or hear packs of them at night out back!

Wow!
All I get are a rainbow of squirrels, sparrows, a couple cardinals that think they own the place, some possum, a blue jay or two, a big fat bunny, and an occasional family of raccoons.
I suppose the deer avoid us due to the gate always being closed and the high fence in the back, but they might roam the park behind us.
Closest we get to a bobcat is when the neighbors huge cat comes by to take a dump in our yard sad

We have a doe and 5 fawns in our back yard. They think it's fun to come out and play when we are driving down the driveway.

Now THAT is a sight to see! Lucky you.
I don't see much wildlife at my apartment, but at my dad's place there is all sorts of stuff. Some of the best was a buck and a fishercat, both a couple years ago.
He does have resident grounghog and rabbit families, tons of birds and squirrels. lately there has been a family (ranging from 5-15) of wild turkeys hanging out.

Well, we have a major snowstorm coming, and the Governor said that non-essential state employees should stay home today. Guess where I am? Yup, WORK! The last major storm we had created 10-hour commutes, tons of accidents and stranded vehicles and a huge mess. But that doesn't matter to my job, no not at all. Even though the kids have all gone home for winter break, it doesn't matter, we all still need to be here.
Sorry, I'm just a little bitter right now.

At least you have the Purkle pipeline so we can send you warm, virtual Purkle hugs while you work.

Thanks Bippy.
we were actually released at noon, so I was able to totally beat the snow. It's still ridiculous that I had to go in in the first place considering everything was closed and things were so bad during last year's storm.
