Seth was taking a walk, he couldn’t stay in the apartment any more, Hypnos still hadn’t spoken to him. He grumbled beneath his breathe, he didn’t want to trust Father any more, how could he hope to get anywhere behind a wall of silence, just waiting idly for instructions. He could get away with doing something without permission for once in this situation.

Maybe if he could find that place from the blackout some time ago, but he had been wondering aimlessness that night, and that was in the dark. Still he keep wondering the streets, avoiding people where he could, hoping he’d find it eventually, how many flower shops could there possibly be?

It wasn't often that Padma was allowed to go and wander the city alone, normally she was required to take one of her brothers or cousins with her, but since they were busy, doing something or another, she had managed to get out on her own. She was only supposed to go to the library and then back, but they wouldn't know if she didn't go there right away.

As she wandered, she noticed a boy, doing basically the same thing she was, although she thought, perhaps, he was looking for someplace. She moved closer, and then spoke. "Are you lost?"

Maybe it was that he was brooding, in a foul mood, or that he was just lost in thought, but he'd completely failed to notice the girl who'd approached him.

"N-no" He stammered suddenly spinning round at the voice that sounded too close for comfort. Before then laying eyes on a girl who was most certainly a player as well from first glance.

He half-heartily ran his hands through his hair as he realised his head wings where showing in a vain attempt to hide them under his hair in his sudden bout of nervousness. What should he do? he thought, she knew he was a Godling as well, surely. Maybe he really shouldn't bother trying to hide it, how much damage could this one little girl do? He was quickly loosing his cool.

This was a lot harder without Hypnos whispering in his ear.

He had feathers, she noticed, as he spun around to look at her. Did that make him another player? Or were they just accessories? He did seem to be uncomfortable in them, judging by his attempt to hide them, but did that really mean anything?

"I apologize for startling you," she said, deciding that she was unlikely to figure things out by staring at him. "That was not my intention."

All right, slight panic attack avoided, he reassured himself. She didn’t seem to have any intention of harming or trying to fight him. Not when sounding that polite, unless she was playing mind games with him here. “On your toes Seth” he thought to himself.

“No, it’s fine, really” he assured her, this was certainly a change of pace, normally these players weren’t the types to apologise to him from something so small. Perhaps he could get some information out of her, though, she seemed young, maybe inexperienced to the game, but there was no way of knowing without asking he supposed. Maybe if it was under the guise of casual conversation.

“Why do you ask?”

"You just looked like you were looking for someplace," she responded. "And not in that kind of I know where I'm going sort of way. It's only proper to offer your assistance." She grinned at him, hoping to reasure him. She had no ill intentions towards him, at least right now. She couldn't say what the future would hold. "Or so I've been taught."

"Been taught?" Something told him she wasn't very experienced with confronting other players.

But, while she was trying to be helpful, it would be easier to ask about what little she did know. Though, it's not like he could ask for directions to that flower shop, it had been dark so he'd never seen the sign, and no one had mentioned it's name. It would hardly be productive to give a vague description to a child for directions to a place she probably didn't know.

"Sorry, but you probably don't know it, I'm not even sure of the places name myself...erm" He faltered at the point he should have said her name before realising he hadn't asked for it.

"You can call me Lotus, all my friends do." She responded, knowing that was what the boy was after. She wasn't sure if it was safe to tell him her real name, so that would work. It was a nickname anyways. "Well, we'll never know unless you give me a description. I know most of the area, so there's a pretty good chance that I'll know. I wander a lot."

"Lotus?" He'd never heard of a name like that, but the girl looked like she might have been from a culture unfamiliar to him, and it wasn't like he'd much experience in the real world.

"All right, Lotus, I'm Seth" he replied maintaining his politeness and clearly not thinking as deeply into this as she was.

"It's not important really, we can just walk right?" He pointed toward the rest of the street, gesturing to continue since they'd been standing on the pavement in everyone else's way.

"It's nice to meet you Seth," she said, and shrugged. " Maybe we'll run into it anyway." She grinned cheekily, and moved to continue. She didn't have much else to do anyway, and perhaps she would learn more about this whole thing if she tagged along with him for the moment. If nothing else, perhaps he might at least become some sort of friend. "Have you spent much time in this part of town?"

Seth didn't exactly smile at the pleasantries they had exchanged, but at the very least he didn't quite have the same depressed facial expression he always wore. "...Maybe" He still wasn't too sure about this, he didn't know anything of Lotus' god, or what she just might be capable of. Father would usually pipe up with some instruction for him, or information.

"Not really" He cut off there, he almost went on to say where he was staying. But Lotus was still a stranger, he hardly wanted a repeat of some of his previous encounters. "What about you? Your new to this place too aren't you?"
PostPosted: Tue Feb 10, 2009 7:27 pm

"Not really," she responded. "I live nearby, in the Indian quarter. When I'm allowed out, I like to wander; it's better than staying home. It's never quiet there." Perhaps that wasn't wise, but what could it hurt. If he started ask around, he'd be directed to her eventually. It wasn't like it was a big secret of where she lived.

This wasn't being particularly helpful; perhaps a more direct sort of questioning would be useful. She needed to figure out what was going on, and he seemed as safe as anyone would be to ask. "So, know anything about the Game?"

"Allowed out", he noted that down, he had no way no knowing if that meant whoever her god was was controlling, or if it referred to her parents, but it pointed towards her not often being far from home. Somehow, Seth managed to conclude further she couldn't be much of a threat to him.

"Know, like what?" It was a rather vague question, sure he could answer, but she surely knew the basics. He started to let his natural sleepy aura expand outwards from it's usual contained state, maybe if he got tired she'd be less inclined to talk now.
