Shu had bright Soo to the pride lands to meet his family, but along the way they had stopped to relax beside the near by waterhole. The day was bright and hot and the new couple was happily sitting side by side, relaxing. Shu’s dark pelt ruffled as the winds passed them, he spoke out softly to his mate.
“Lovely day, isn’t it?” Soo’s ears twitched as she smiled and nodded in delight; her lean gray frame nestled beside his as they lay side by side together.
“So, when am I going to meet your mother?”
She questioned with a rather funny look; as if mocking his words from earlier.

“Come on slow poke! Koy called out as she ran past him with laugh. She had brought him to the pride lands to see her family as well; it was going to be a big day for the two, for sure. “Come on! Come on!” Her voice was playful and tone cool; Koy was in a good mood. She ran onward until the sight of something familiar caught her gaze and she stopped. What was this? “…Shu?”

"Hey!" Chardon cried back indignantly. "I am not a slow poke!"
Today was a big day. He was going to meet her family, and try as he might, he couldn't shake his nervousness. It wasn't like she was going to meet his, lucky girl. But he never knew such anxiety before when he had met other parents. It was such a weird feeling.
"I'm coming," he grumbled playfully, galloping towards her. Then he passed her and turned around to see why she had stopped. Someone else? She knew, perhaps?

“What?”
Shu turned and smirked; hi maw went wide and within seconds he was standing.
“Koy! I’ll be damned!”
He called out as the brown lioness neared. He chuckled at the site and turned to speak to the female beside him.
“Soo, this is Koy. Koy is a friend of mine from when I was a cub.”
“Oh!”
Soo’s face seemed to brighten up as she too stood. Her dull eyes narrowed as she called out to Koy with a welcoming tone.
“Hello! It’s good to meet you!”
She smiled and noticed the male that moved behind Koy.
“Looks like she brought a date.”
Soo laughed.

“My My Shu, look at you. Your all grown up!”
Koy laughed as she turned to her mate and spoke out softly.
“This is Shu. Shu is a old friend.”
Koy motioned for him to follow her as she trotted over to the monochromatic couple.
"It's been a while; thought you left here for good."

He trotted up to the trio gracefully.
"Chardon, nice to meet you two," he offered with a smile.
An old friend, eh? He seemed nice enough. So did the female. Shu and...Soo? The two seemed to fit each other color-wise. This was interesting, meeting old friends so suddenly in the pridelands.

“Chardon. What a neat name.”
Shu smirked and sat down as the two drew near. He offered them both a smile and beckoned them to sit.
“Yeah, I thought so too, but when I found Soo here I just had to bring her back home to meet my mother.”
He chuckled and poked at his female friend.
Soo blushed at his words and smiled at Koy and Chardon.
“So, you two a couple?”
She asked with a friendly smile, gazing at the two with friendly eyes.

Koy blushed at the question but answered it with a smile. She looked over at Chardon as she spoke.
“Yes, Chardon is my mate.”
She seemed to smile every time she said that, it really did make her feel like a cub again- the feeling was a good one for sure.
“its kind of funny, Shu. I brought Chardon here to visit my family too.”
She turned and smiled at him.

"Thank you. Shu and Soo are interesting names as well."
He couldn't lie, though. He had to smile when Koy was asked if they were mates, and she said yes. He puffed himself up a bit unconsciously.
Chardon sat down next to her and smiled, keeping politely quiet as the old friends conversed.

“Soo and I can’t stay long, but it’s funny that we ran into one another after so long. M’glad you are happy.”
Shu spoke with a relaxed tone. His dark mane and pelt brushed against Soo’s gray form as he stood up and yawned.
“I have to get Soo to my mother’s den before sundown.”
“Koy, Chardon, it was lovely meeting you both.”
Soo nodded as she too stood up and stood beside her mate. The older lioness smiled at the bright pair and added.
“I wish you both happiness.”
“Ha-ha, yeah, happiness is a good thing to wish for.”
Shu added before he nuzzled Koy goodbye.
“Take care of her, will you?”
His words were focused to Chardon now as he inched himself back to Soo’s side.
“She needs a happy ending.”

Koy smiled and nuzzled the other female.
“thank you Soo. I wish you happiness too. Keep Shu out of trouble, will you?”
She chuckled at her own words before frowning at Shu for his last statement.
“Now now, Shu.”
Though she knew he was just kidding Koy hated feeling tiny.

"I wish happiness to both of you, as well," he added his little bit of well-wishing in as well, smiling at the two of them.
He locked gazes with Shu and gave a reassuring smile. "I'll make it my priority to see that she does, I can promise you that."
Chardon nuzzled his mate reassuringly as well. He would keep that promise, he hoped she knew. Everyone deserved a happy ending.
