 The little pale blue filly stood out from her background of brown trunks and small evergreen bushes. The sun had just hit the horizon and was beginning to shine it's light on the land. In the forest though, it still looked as if it was twilight. Being so early the filly, took it upon herself to sneak away once again and go venturing through the woods again. Probably not a smart idea with her being so young, but she hadnt had a problem with it, so far.
Nevara's eyes scanned the area as her ears flickered back and forth taking in the sounds of birds and other little creatures that scampered around the forest floor. Her attention shot to a baby chipmunk as it dashed in front of her and into the safety of an overgrown shrub. "Hey, come back here!" she shouted after the little vermin.

Yawing heavily the blue stallion stretched his neck out along the grass. Laying flat out on his side, legs stuck out in an ungainly manner, the stallion could have passed for a fresh corpse, if it wasn't for the obvious breathing and rather sleepy mumblings audible. He knew that this section of the forest was safe enough from large predators and had basked in the luxury of being able to sleep deeply, flat out on the ground, rather than staying on his hooves all night. Rubbing his neck into the leaf litter under him to ease a tickling he yawned again. It was too early to be up yet.... at least, that was the tired travellers opinion.
Cloud had been wandering for months, going here, going there.. simply following the winds. Yet something had urged him to come back to the particular little forest where the sun seemed to take its time to warm those within the leafy canopy. All forests had a personality, some were creepy, some were dark, this one was a pleasant forest. Wide glades dotted the lazy growing treescape, lush grass grew about the trunks and bushes with sweet berries populated the area. It was here that he had met that pretty little punk mare Melanie. He wondered briefly what had happened to her, for she had been as pleasant and yet as mystical as any he had met.
A shrill voice dragged his wandering attention back to the here and now just before a tiny, bright blue body even more obvious than his own hue, burst through the shrubs and nearly went directly into his belly. With a snort and a heave the sleepy stallion rolled himself onto his chest, dark grey eyes blinking with surprise at the little female.
"Well well well... hello there. Enjoying the morning?" He asked with a low easy rumbling chuckle. Foals were always so energetic! At least, the few he had met seemed that way, apart from the one time a filly had simply ignored him completely....

As the small filly burst through the wall of bush she was startled to find a large blue stallion blocking her path. She froze for a few moments just blinking at the new stranger. Her gaze then immediately fell to the ground, looking for her little chipmunk buddy but it appeared he had taken disappeared for good.
Nevara looked back up at the stranger and smiled. "So far! I just got avay from Daa" tilting her head slightly she looked the larger horse over. His darker blue coat, spiky hair, and the mark of a cloud on his chest. How interesting. "Looks like i just voke you up. I'm sorry, It got avay from me again." They all always got away from her but it was frun to try to catch them until they left her behind.

The stallion snorted lightly, shaking his head at her comment. "Not at all.. if you youngsters are up and about, then I need to be up too." He grinned playfully at her, though stayed where he was, she was so small they were almost at eyelevel with him laying down. So it seemed simplest to stay there, not that he was being lazy.. of course not.
"From Daa? Ahh so you are the adventurous type eh? And..... what got away from you?" Cloud asked curiously, tilting his head as he studied the ground between them where she had looked. "Maybe I can help you find it?"

The little filly giggled at the larger males comment. "I'm only up cause I don't like being babied... And daa is asleep now. So i get to do vhatever I vant!" she grinned. He sure was big, bigger that her father even. And he was pretty big. At least to her.
"I guess I get it from my Mum.. she's been gone for a while.." she added with a smile sigh.
From unhappy to excited again, her ears twitched and her eyes met his again at the mention of her 'friend' "Mr. Chip! He vanders around here trying to running avay from me. I finally caught up, but he disappeared again." The little chipmunk the filly was talking about was probably several of the little creatures that popped in and out of view throughout todays venture, but to her it was one playing a very cute game of hide and seek. "Umm... Sure!"
However unwise it might be for a foul like herself to be wandering around the woods with and unknown stallion like himself. Her nature was generally trusting and lighthearted. Meeting new creatures big and small made life interesting and being weary of them just made them be weary of her. So trusting, she had decided was the best way to go about life and if something happened along the way she'd handle it when and if the time came.

He grinned in reply, one long ear flicking. "Is he now? You sound a lot like me then. At least when I was your size, I used to sneek away from my parents all the time." The stallion tilted his head at the fleeting look of sadness that mared the filly's expression, but didn;t ask after it, since it was none of his business..
"Mr Chip? Alright then." Grinning the stallion climbed to his hooves, shaking his body free of bits of leaf and twig after letting himself stretch out with a heavy yawn. Blinking he swung hyis head and grinned at the filly, now looking down at her from his mature height.
Of course she was courting danger being out alone so young, but Cloud was not so old as to have forgotten what it was like to be a colt, and he had been the same as her. So who was he to lecture her? However, he could stay with her and protect her till her father turned up.
Smiling he winked at the girl. "Lets find this friend of yours then. By the way, my name is Cloud." He offered with a chuckle.

Her small ears twitched and swivaled forward. "Really?" the filly asked curiously. For her it was hard to imagine such a large male as a foul like herself. She tilted her to the side and studied him, trying to imagine what he might have looked like and giggled.
Nevara gave him another wide grin and bounced slightly when he introduced himself. "Cloud! Just like on your chest." she pointed out happily.
"I'm not sure vhich vay he vent..." Glancing around her, she turned in a semi circle, then back around again to face him. "He could have gone anywhere by now!"
