Anyone picked up this game yet?
I got it recently and I have finally finished it. To me...it's a bit of a disappointment but I can't say that I WASN'T expecting it. I think they screwed up with this sequel. I really don't like it. The main boy, Emil, really gets on my nerves as well as the main girl, Marta. You travel back to all of the old places in the game but each dungeon where there was a summon spirit...mystically has a new path. WHAT?! How does that work? Granted, I need to go back to the old game and make sure that some of these impossible routes are just that, impossible. I also find it somewhat sad that all of the old characters have new voice actors/actresses. Yes, that is old new but some of those voices....really don't fit. Anyways I have a lot of ranting to do about what I don't like about this game, and the ending causes an even bigger rant considering it doesn't work with Phantasia which is supposed to take place a thousand or so years after the first Symphonia game.

It's a game you either hate or you love. I don't think there is any in between. I personally hate it...but I have read some comments on YouTube about people absolutely loving the game. stare

Another bad thing is that...the only anime in the whole game is the opening. I mean... I know the original was like that too as was Legendia... but Abyss had cut-scenes in it all over the place. D: It's just so...wrong.
((Yeah, I do... o.o ))

No animations, O.o I don't see how they could have done something that sinister...
(Would you mind doing me an avitar piece on your free time?)

It made me so upset. I went through the whole game and there was SO much talking that you would think they would have slid in at least one or two anime scenes here or there. I don't think I did any side quests in the game... but it took my brother and I just under 30 hours to finish the game. I am nearly 100% sure that the original took us way longer than that.
((I'd love to! Do you want it of your current avi?))

that sounds lame I would end up setting it aside the moment I had a new game in my hands. (I actualy just learned how to tek tek. But the boots are suppose to be like my present one, and I forgot to put on the make up and the facial hair.) Here it is... Thank you!

You know what else is lame? I don't think I have said this yet...but... FIRST PLAYER can only play as Emil or Marta unless they switch out DURING battle EVERY SINGLE TIME! I mean...son of a biatch... pain in the behind.
((Tektek is awesome. O.o that avi is awesome. I will do my best. That will be the most complicated thing I will have ever drawn outside of drawing class... maybe even harder than something in that class. o.o Forgive me if it takes a while.))

You did'nt, but that does'nt sound creative of them at all. Maybe they were working on another game and just decided to be lazy on this. confused
It seems alot could have been added.
(Oh please, do take your time....but thank you, I try to be original with my avitar. I am a bit low on gold do to Christmas though, is there anything you want in repaying you?)

They were really bad with this game... At least they gave voices to the skits with this game... FINALLY! I really wanted voices for Abyss... Anyways DotNW only has Emil and Marta as new characters that you can have in your team. There are a few times where a man joins your team for a few little while... but that's it.
The new monsters in battle thing sucks. The monsters level up WAY too easily.
I want a tales game for the PS3.
((Repaying me? Your happiness would be enough. emo ))

That reminds me of dragon quest on the DS, they slaughtered it a bit I thought, and the monsters were too easy to get levled up.
The PS3 seems to bring the quality of games up quite a bit. So yes, that would be great!
(Aw, you're a doll, I will be very happy in return. mrgreen )

Gah! It's happening everywhere then! Not a good sign. I can give you a long confusing explanation of the monsters I have in ToS... if you care to read on, then you may do so...but your eyes may fall out and you may be utterly confused by my wording.
In the game you get monsters by forming a pact with them. When you form a pact the monster starts with the basic stats and is at level one. Once they level up to a certain level, you may be able to evolve them or you can choose not to. If you chose to evolve a monster, they start all over again at level one with the basic stats of the evolved monster's breed. Once you level that monster up you may be able to evolve it again, once again starting it's stats over. At a certain point a monster will not be able to evolve again. At this point you can choose to have the monster return to its first form at level one with the basic status yet again. Now bearing this in mind, I had a wolf type monster, evolved it into a dark wolf type of monster, evolved it yet again to another type of wolf and then I evolved it a third (and I think final) time, it's last evolution being a Fenrir. After that I had gone back in, wondering if there was a way to evolve the Fenrir even further and, much to my dismay, I had not been watching what I was doing. I hit to have it turn back into the basic form of the wolf. That being said I leveled it up again, evolved it three times, yet again, getting it back to being a Fenrir. With all that said and done my Fenrir is now approximately level 76 and it has an attack of 1,000 some damage for a basic attack and 3,000 for a critical hit. My PEOPLE are only about level 55 and do around 200 some to 300 something in damage. Now is it me or do the monsters REALLY level up too fast?
I can't wait for the PS3 then! My younger brother and I are getting one for Christmas! We're getting Little Big Planet and we bout Soul Calibur 4 ahead of time as well!
((That's good! smile ))
