Jade tiptoed through the cold snow with a sneer on her face; she hated snow. She hated cold, she hated wet, and she hated hated hated snow. One of the new members of her clan (Nerina) had somehow managed to get a disturbingly large amount of the despicable white stuff into her room during the night, and now Jade was outside waiting for it to melt.

Outside was definitely not better than her room, it was worse in fact. However, Anette had decided it was a good idea to send her out after she tried to light Nerina's bedding on fire in revenge...quiet Jade may be, but forgiving she was not.

'I'll get her...somehow.' she thought to herself, before sneezing violently and pitching forward into a snow drift.

"Dammit!" she growled, almost inaudibly.

I can take on all kinds of terrain!

Sticking out against the dull whites and greys of the day like a sore thumb, Tasogare sprinted her way across the snow. Not once did she think that she might slip or fall - all that she cared about was how powerful she felt as she surged across the dunes of white stuff. This was a peace of cake for her!

Her arrogance, though, didn't prevent her from seeing the cave entrance up in front of her - and the other Chi'lin that stood out in front of it. Oh, someone to brag to! Approaching quickly, the fluorescent female failed to say anything before the unfortunate other sneezed and fell into a snow drift.

Now, anyone else would've felt sorry for the poor thing. I mean, Chi'lin live on the plains, where it's warm practically year-round. They hate the cold! It must've been miserable for poor Jade. But Tasogare wasn't the pitying type - actually, she was quite the opposite. Instead of running over and trying to help her up, Tasogare practically fell over laughing. Jade' tumble was simply so hilarious! She had to crouch down on her strong scaled legs just to keep from suffering a similar fate.

Tasogare didn't really care who heard her raucous laughter at that point - and if the other took offense, well...it was her fault for having such awful balance!

(I apologize in advance for her attitude. ^^ wink

Hearing the obnoxious laughter, Jade immediately thought of Nerina. Images of pain and suffering entered her mind and she entertained the idea of homicide until she realized the nasally sound was even more annoying than the bratty painter that she lived with.

'Who else is determined to mock me today?' she thought to herself.

Heaving herself up, she shook the snow out of her equally white hair and glared in the direction of the laughter. A shock of color met her eyes and they widened out of their glare to gape at the Chi'lin in front of her.

((I apologize for hers as well, she's a snobby pessimist. ^_^; ))

Tasogare couldn't help but smirk at the gawk that came across the other Chi'lin's maw. Of course she would gape...just look at how pretty the fluorescent female was! She just knew the silly green thing was stunned by her beauty. As if to accentuate this, Tasogare threw her long white mane around - as though the other Chi'lin didn't have the exact same mane.

Finally, though, she figured that she should say something. "I know, isn't my mane so pretty?" Tasogare crooned none-to-humbly.

Jade gaped for a moment at the other Chi'lin's audacity; she hadn't even said anything! Their mane was the same color!

"Ehm, that's nice..." she mumbled, confused by the comment.

She squinted her eyes against the combination of the sun reflecting off the snow and the light seeming to intensify the other painter's color.

'So...bright...' she thought as her eyes began to water.

Tasogare couldn't help but give a charismatic grin. She never thought for a second that the other painter didn't mean it, but instead shook her head proudly. Something else she never noticed was the other Chi'lin's watering eyes, so the flamboyant female continued talking. "Oh, where's my manners - my name is Tasogare."

Jade nodded hesitantly to the brightly colored female, "Good to meet you...I think. The name's Jade."

She swiped at her eyes, the water coming from them not entirely do to the assembly of colors in front of her, as a cold, strong wind hit her full in the face and worsened her problem.

"Damn this season!" She cursed out loud.

'She thinks that she's happy to meet me?!' Tasogare's eyes narrowed at Jade for a moment, but then she relaxed. Jade must not've meant it. After all, who wouldn't want to see the nice, bright Chi'lin?

Then she gave a shiver. The wind was...freezing! Her legs trembled slightly in the cold, causing her to hiss at herself. 'I am not weak! Although...warmth would be nice.' Hearing the other Chi'lin curse, Tasogare chimed in, "I whole heartedly agree. Do you have anywhere warm to stay? It's a bit...chilly out here." She looked over at the icy stalagmites hanging from the trees.

Jade nodded wordlessly and gestured for the other Chi'lin to follow. The snow must have been cleared out by now, right? She lead the brightly colored female right up to the cave mouth, past all the strange little statues of Anette's, and into the warmth of her cave dwelling. Hopefully no one was around...

Persephone hated winter. She felt sluggish and tired. Spotting Jade and another 'ahem' bright Chilin following her entering the cave, she called out a greeting.

"Hello Jade...how are you today?" she questioned, no real energy in her voice.

Gladly followed Jade, reveling in the warmth of the inside of den. It was really cozy in here...Why had the other Chi'lin been out in the cold in the first place? Tasogare probably never would've left her home if it were this comfortable!

Looking over, another painter caught her eye. For a moment she was offended: What, was she invisible? Jade wasn't the only one here! But then seeing the condition that the other was in, she decided against saying anything. She looked positively miserable!
