Words flew quickly from fanged lips, curses to put even the most 'colorful' human language to shame. Zephyiote'd lost her quarry. She'd been chasing a rabbit for the last hour, and it'd finally managed to escape her. It wasn't like she wanted to kill it. No, she'd already had a meal today. A nice deer. No, she wanted to examine this rabbit, it had looked quite peculiar. It had golden fur. Not yellowish, but actual gold. And it's eyes were the most brilliant blue, possibly some kind of sapphire. She had wanted to catch it to see whether it had been an organic rabbit from the start, or whether it was some sort of animated statue. Zephyiote was always trying to investigate things like that. She had a strong curiousity towards magic and science, as was befitting a Pan'Lun. She'd chased it down to the beach, but as she neared, an Aquan Chimaeve, pesky thing, had lunged out of the shadows, and dragged the thing to the depths. Thus was Zephyiote's displeasure.
She sat down where she stopped, watching the waves, letting her anger steep. How frustrating, to say the least. She sighed, and lay down, folding her arms and laying her head on top of those, in turn. She knew there was another rabbit. A silver one with red eyes. She'd seen it with the gold one, but had pursued the latter when the pair split up as they fled. Maybe sometime she would be able to chase the silver one down. She could only hope.
She snorted, and plumes of smoke rose from her nostrils. She was feeling a little better, after giving herself a moment of calm and deep breathing. That was always nice. She sighed and resigned herself to enjoy the sun's warmth. At least that wouldn't be snatched away from her.

*The silver one had made it's escape away from the gold and the thing that had been pursuing them both. Dashing up a hill deeper into the lush green woods. It's heart raced almost as fast as a humming birds wings would beat. Finally free of it's companion but far from feeling safe it dashed towards a bush with blood red flowers, that was it's final mistake.
Instantly the bush, which had been sought for shelter and protection lashed out what seemed to be a hand and firmly slapped the silver bunny into the ground, a loud snap was heard as it's neck was broken in the assault of bush to bunny.
Then the bush shifted upwards. Leafs twirled and vines seemed to twist as it stretched out taking the form of a tail, long neck and legs. Then on fours this now serpentine shaped bush stood. In a wave like motion, as if blown by wind the tightly knitted leaves of the bush flipped over and flattened down against each other only to disappeared, replaced by what would seem to be the smallest of pearly scales, perfectly aligned. Now in place of that once beautiful bush stood the strangest looking draconic being, with wings resembling mistletoe.
Grabbing the silver thing between her clawed hands she smiled pleased with herself, and as such she began to hum the strangest song for the moment, a Christmas song. Now she could eat it as it was, raw, or cook it, she choose the later of the two. So holding the strange silver bunny by the ears she moved towards the beach, may as well have a beautiful view with a good meal after all, and she was hungry.*

Zephyiote sighed with pleasure, and smiled blissfully as she lay on her belly, stretching out her limbs one at a time, and then her wings. That felt good. It was hard to remember just why she'd been so mad in the first place, when it was so pleasant a day, and so nice to relax. And there was still that silver one. She would go out and look for that one in a moment. Just...another moment. She felt a nap beckoning. But as she started to curl up to rest, four ears flicked, and Zephyiote froze. A noise. She was positive. Zephyiote's hearing didn't lie. Her sense of smell was good, her sight excellent (Due to the extra eyes) but her hearing was almost god-like. Such enormous pairs of ears weren't just for decoration. Her eyes narrowed, her muscles tensing, as she jumped up. She felt her scales stand on end, giving her the appearance of a very riled, winged pin-cushion for a moment, before they lay flat again. Different pairs of eyes searched about, looking for the invader of her privacy. Zephyiote was extremely agitatable, and could be nasty beyond compare. Even the fiercest Wyvern's had tempers that seemed mild next to hers.
A low growl bubbled up through her throat, and seemed to rumble through the air. Tension permeated the air around her. Zephyiote'd had far too many painters turn against her in her life. She was an outcast. Looked at as a monster. It was only natural that eventually she stooped to the expectation. No one cared about her. She was pointed out and ridiculed, feared as the unknown, and never accepted. She was not always the way she was now. She did not always tamper with dark magic. That was a recent endeavor, to be sure. But the more she slipped into this routine of solitude, the more absorbed in her studies she became.
Her ears didn't fail her, and she picked up noise coming from the forest, approaching the beach. She let out another warning growl, loud enough so the stranger would hear, even in the tree cover. Maybe then the intruder would think twice.

*Those keen eyes, so many of them would spot her, but would they know what to think of her, and her strange, or rather unique appearance. Who knew but Idea was pretty sure she didn't have anything to fear, and while she heard a growl she doubted it was directed at her so she continued forward away from the thicket of trees into the opening, appearing almost like a walking bush, at first glance (Due to her wings) a double take would reaffirm that she wasn't though.
In her clutches the rabbit of silver fur. She gave a hungry lick to her maw, that serpentine tongue lapping at the green colored scales, and catching the scents all about her, like a flavor on the air. As this obvious young thing strutted so into the opening it was clear she was carrying not just the bunny but some wood as well. And ever so carefully she began to lay out the wood as one would for a bonfire. All the while, pretending she didn't see the other, not because she wanted to be rude, but rather to no invade the femmes space. all the while she sang softly a Christmas tune.
When all was ready she reared her head back, took a deep breath and let it go in a hot flame against the wood. Then setting the bunny down, rather sure the other wouldn't take it, after all who would do such a thing? She turned back towards the woods to find her self a stick, she knew there had to be a good one just the right length for cooking the bunny on near by.*

Zephyiote was silent for a moment, as she watched what looked like a rather peculiar bush walk out of the woods. It took a moment for her to identify it as a dragon. And only a moment longer to realize exactly what was clutched in the creature's mouth. That was the rabbit from earlier! Zephyiote felt all of her earlier anger return, and her blood felt set to boil, watching the other creature build a fire no doubt to cook the thing with. That was too much. To eat such a thing without studying it would be a felony of the worst sort!
Zephyiote couldn't contain herself. Rage colored her vision red. She reared up, arms raking the air, as if she could slash it open with her claws. She screamed, a viciously high pitched roar. Black fire could be seen flickering in the back of her throat, as her teeth flashed in the bright sun. She surged forth with leaping bounds, kicking up sand with each thundering step, as she seemed to fly at the other dragon. But she came to a jerking stop at the rabbit, her body positioned over its much smaller one. With one swipe of a taloned hand, she knocked the fire wood apart, scattering the logs, which alone would quickly die out.
Zephyiote's lips were pulled back in a full blown snarrl over wickedly sharp teeth, serrated on the inside curve, her claws shared this trait as well. Her anger quite plain, audible as a grating sound originating somewhere in her chest. All her eyes were focused on this stranger. This defiler of a good experimental subject. She snorted, plumes of thick smoke issuing from her nostrils as a warning. She was not in a good mood. And wanted to make it as clear as possible to the other painter. She was not going to be messed with.
At this point, manners and words were ignored, she was overcome by her emotions, enraged beyond most all reason. Fed up already from all of the prejudice placed upon her, and then this painter's completely ignoring her warning growl? Unthinkable! This was disrespect in Zephyiote's eyes. To be punished in turn.

*Fortunate for this teen she hadn't been close to the rabbit, or the woods when the other charged them but she couldn't help but notice the others reaction and was very very puzzled as she watched, practically dumbfounded at the others action. It's not like this femme owned the beach, there was plenty of it to share and much space between them but to come and do that to her fire, and to take her food, it was just uncalled for.
But the more she looked at this angered paint the more she noticed the uniqueness of the paint. She really didn't know what to say, not at first and then it came out, the most strangest thing to say to an enraged paint.*
Wow, you look so kewl!!
*She couldn't' help it, all those eyes looking at her all so strange, but so unique, she'd never seen anything like it. and so many colors covered this one, well this was the first other paint she'd ever seen so, she was pretty idiotic when it came to such things. But still instead of running in fear she slowly approached the many eyed one and looked her over in such openness, not a hint of fear, though perhaps there should have been but she was curious.*
Will I get more eyes too, when I get older?
*She said after a moments pause, not really knowing how to react to this one, and never having faced danger before, but she was over whealmed by the curious growling thing.*

Zephyiote had been ready to lash out and bite this other painter as it approached, when she did the best thing she could have done to disarm Zephyiote. Compliment her. Zephyiote didn't take to compliments well at all. She rarely, rarely got any, and they always made her uncomfortable.
She stopped growling, and her stance relaxed to a great degree, though she was still a little tense. She watched this holly looking painter with a pondering disbelief. She...wasn't scared? Or...was she just more curious than scared? That Zephyiote could relate to. This helped her relax just a little more. Now that Zephyiote looked her over, and by her words, it was appearent she was a youngling. Not yet having taken on the full form of an adult. And what bizaare wings she had! Even stranger than her own!
Zephyiote's head tilted to the side a little, a surefire indication of her own intense curiousity. For a moment, she completely forgot about the rabbit. The usually silver tongued, quick Zephyiote took a moment to realize she was posed a question, and her thoughts were muddled, taking a second or two to procure an answer. Such was the effect of a compliment on her!
"I...uh...no, you will not. You are not even the same species as me." Who was this child, that she knew not of a Pan'Lun? Although now that she thought about it, most common painters might not. If they didn't ever do any business around the mountain.

*She blinked at this response* Oh... *She sounded disappointed at the answer she'd been given, almost heart broken. Was it because she wouldn't grow eyes? or was it because she was just told she wasn't the same species.*
What species are you?*She said after a frowned moment, blinking a bit she gave a false smile, trying not to let her sadness at the response show, it would have been nice to have had something to belong to, even if it was a species, unfortunately she didn't know of such thing, having only come into existence in the last couple of days. Such was the way of the magic of the holiday season called christmas.*
Are you hungry? *She said finding that it had grown quiet and seeing as she was being eye'd like some strange creature. She was trying to fill in the awkwardness.* It's not much, but I can share it. *She said indicating the rabit.* It's my first catch *She grinned now ear to ear.* I'd never caught something before. *The sudden rumble of her tummy showed how little she'd had to eaten since she had come to life.
Like a puppy she let her tail wag gently back and forth, while not belonging was depressing, finding another to spend time with lightened her mood, she hoped this one would be her friend, she didn't have any but she had a feeling, having one would make her happy, and this one seemed so interesting and with all those colors she couldn't see how this one would be a bad choice for a friend. So weather this one liked it or not, she'd decided that she'd do her best to make friends with her.*

"You really do not know?" Zephyiote asked, perplexed. This girl was...interesting. Zephyiote took a step or two closer to idea, eyeing her curiously. "You are most peculiar, you are."
Zephyiote puffed out her chest, or rather, it swelled with pride. Despite being considered a freak and a misfit, she carried that stereotypical dragon trait of Vanity, which ran especially strong in Pan'Lun. "I am a Pan'Lun!" she declared proudly. "And a remarkable one at that!" she fluttered her wings a little, to emphasize them. Though this girl wouldn't know that normal Pan'Lun didn't have those, now would she? No matter. This little boast was as much for Zephyiote's own feelings as well as informing this girl.
Zephyiote pondered her hunger. She wasn't hungry per se, though she could always go for a snack. However, a rabbit was nothing to her. A snack. A mouthful. She chuckled when she heard idea's stomach rumble. "Come now child, let us get you some real food!" for a strange reason, Zephyiote felt herself slightly gravitated toward the girl. Perhaps because she was only still a child?
Zephyiote marched over to the beach, letting the water lap at her feet, and turning back, motioning with a gesture of a hand for Idea to follow. Shark would be easy to catch in these tropical waters. And a much better meal than a silly old rabbit. Besides, Zephyiote intended to take the rabbit in question back to her home, and conduct some experiments on it. Though she wasn't sure if this strange young femme would be keen on the idea of her lunch being tested on, she decided it best to keep quiet on that aspect for now.

*She blinked a bit at the odd question.* Why would I know, I've never seen a... *She tested the word.* Pan'Lun before, are there lots of them where you come from?? *Her voice held a slight musical tune to it as she spoke, it was obvious she was excited to meet this most impressive Paint before her, for she was the first paint she'd ever met. As Zeph approached her she couldn't help but smile and sit a bit taller on her haunches, feeling inspected and hoping this one liked her.* Is Peculiar A good thing? *She said at the paints conclusion of her inspection, she really did hope so. It was funny, normally she wasn't this bubbly but having someone to finally talk to it was like all that trapped energy was finally trying to come out of her. She was most definitely excited.*
Real food? *She said looking at the bunny.* that's not food? *She had thought it was, having seen something else catch one and eat it before, she'd hoped it was food because the pain in her tummy was getting intense.. everything was really, but what did one expect when one was new to the world. It was a lot to take in all at once.* Where do we get this, real food? *She said as she watched Zeph walk away, and of course, like a lost puppy she followed, not really knowing what else to do, not really minding the company either.
As they came to the beach she looked at the water with a curious expression* There's food in there? *She said looking at the water and then moving closer to it she stuck her head into the water and with bright blue eyes she looked around, holding her breath at the things she could see in the shallow. Didn't look like much.* Now at this point she might actually appear a bit slow in the uptake, after all what kind of paint didn't know that in the deeper parts of water there was food to be had, and what kind of pant just shoved their head into the water in such a strange fashion. Pulling her head from the water she reached a clawed hand up and wiped her face.* Looks kinna empty in there.

Zephyiote watched the green holiday painter with an expression of mixed confusion and scrutiny. Surely this was...a joke? This painter had never gone in the ocean before? Never looked there for food? The water lapped at her feet, but Zephyiote paid it no heed. She was going to be thoroughly soaked before this was all through anyway. She chuckled and shook her head, in response to Idea's first question. "Why yes. There are quite a few Pan'Lun where I am from. But..." Zephyiote's wings fluttered against her sides, in a slightly agitated fashion. "None of them look like me," Zephyiote finished simply, and proudly. She was glad to be different. Even if it wasn't generally smiled upon.
She took a couple of steps out into the water, until it tickled her belly, and with each wave, it rose to touch her shoulders for a moment. A thought occured to her. This painter didn't seem very experienced with water. Hopefully she..."You do know how to swim, right?" Zephyiote asked, looking back over her shoulder at Idea. If not...the girl would probably have to stay here, while Zephyiote fetched something to eat. Too bad. It would be interesting to introduce someone so naive to the water to its splendor, it's beauty, and it's rich food supply. Zephyiote had never known true hunger, particularly while staying on the beach.
This girl, however strange, was amusing. Zephyiote liked her positive attitude. And her curiousity. That in itself was a high virtue in Zephyiote's eyes. In Pan'Lun, curiousity was considered one of the key marks of a brilliant scientist. Zephyiote herself was extremely curious, about everything. And even if it one day lead to her downfall, she sure as heck enjoyed it while she was living.

Oh, you are unique *She said with a warm dazzling smile that made those baby blues sparkle.* Unique is good, because different is good, different is a new experience and I like that, and so I like you best if you are different *She said with an almost musical note of excitement in response to zephs comments about her uniqueness, then her gaze turned towards the water.
While no she'd seen this particular water a couple times, for the most part it was all new to her, like a child she followed things around from the moment of her creation seeing them for the first time, both the scary and not so scary. She cried the first time she saw a bird snatch up a cute little mouse she'd been watching. She had tried to make friends with it but the bird had other plans. Later she realized that the bird had taken the mouse to eat and that was when she cried. Only later when she'd begun to feel the pains of hunger, and saw a fox catch a rabbit did she realize the importance of what they were doing. That was why she was so happy when she caught the bunny she had, the beautiful silver thing. Even now she felt kind of sad for it, but her hunger was getting the best of her and her belly groaned in it's complaint.*
Swim? *She said in the most bizarre fashion, it was as if it was the first time she'd used the word, yet at the same time, though it was a new for her, the magic that came into being which made her seemed to wash over her mind, and the moment the word was spoken she knew it's meaning. One could almost see the light in her eyes as she realized what was being asked.* Oh, I have never, but I could try. *She said and jumped forward into the water til she was knee deep into it's lapping warmth.* I like trying new things. *She said with a brilliant smile to Zeph.*

Dubious as she was about this painter, Zephyiote knew she told no lie. Every word from this strange painter's mouth was completely sincere. Zephyiote smiled back at idea. It was hard not to. "I am glad you think so. I always thought it was good to be different." Zephyiote stretched a little, watching the other pain run into the water.
"Perhaps painters are born knowing how to swim. Most animals are. But if you are having any troubles, notify me, and I will come to your aid." With that, Zephy walked calmly farther out into the water, until she was only a head sticking out. "Try and stay close to me, I do not want to lose you," she said only half teasingly. "And try and remember to breathe." That last part was a joke.
Zephyiote took a few more steps forward, and slipped beneath the water, gliding through it like a serpent. It was easy to see in the water, thanks to a second set of clear eyelids, in the same manner as a crocodile. She could see not too far ahead, where the reef started, and the glitter and glimmer of fish as they played. Food would be good today. She would wait to see that the youngster was managing first though, before she took off. It wouldn't do any good to leave the youngling here.

*She gave a smile at the comment about it being good to be different, happy that this Zeph felt as such. For some odd reason she really wanted to make sure that she was pleased with her, but she didn't question it, not the kind to do such, not yet, she took it in stride and enjoyed the new experiences as they came.
Testing the waters, slowly she inched in, the feel of the water against her pearly scaled hide was actually kind of refreshing. It tickled her as bubbles from the wash ran against her young lithe form she gave a slight child like giggle at the experience. She almost didn't hear all the instructions given her but she had tried hard to ignore this new distraction as her new friend told her about swimming. Nodding she dove right into the water, the words "Don't forget to breath" tickled in her mind.
Just as the one before her, unlike before the second set of clear eyelids, the kind she used for flying kicked in. It was an instinctual reaction to the submersion, a way to protect the eyes as if the water was air. In awe she saw the many things now that she had not seen before, millions of shimmering things flying it seemed, in the water back and forth, they completely took her off gaurd, why hadn't she seen them before???
Then she did the unthinkable. she opened her mouth to say something about the beautiful fish to her companion, assuming she could breath, as the other had told her she could. Twas an obvious, mistake made by one as gullable as her as she lost her air when the water rushed into her lungs.
In a panic she doggy paddled to the surface coughing and choking. The pain of the salt water in her chest caused a slightly gagging effect and as she crawled from the water she choked. This effect caused her to spew from her lungs the water, in a manner a dragon would spew fire, but in place of fire a stream of water turned ice left her, freezing the land beneath her. Eyes teared up in reaction to the pain from the choking as she tried to get herself together.*
I *cough cough* can't *cough cough* Breath like *cough* you.
*She tried to say it all at once but she couldn't stop coughing as her body tried to expell the stuff from it's being.* I guess we are more different than alike *She said with tear felt eyes, how she felt bad, she'd probably really disappointed her new friend with her lack of ability.*

Zephyiote was up and out of the water in a flash, alarmed by the green girl's panic. Zephyiote leapt to her side, rubbing her back comfortingly, and trying to keep from laughing. Who was this painter, who knew nothing of water and swimming? "Silly girl, I cannot breathe the salt water either. I meant to remember to come up to the surface for air." Zephyiote bit her lip, laughing to herself.
"Sweet youngling, did not your parrents teach you anything about this sort of thing?" Zephyiote also realized she knew not the girl's name. She made note to ask the girl after she recovered for a moment. Poor thing. Zephyiote should have made sure to verify the meaning of her words before dragging her in like that. Though how was she to know that this youngling knew not that she couldn't breathe underwater. Except in rare cases, that was an ability reserved for Merdracs.
Zephyiote felt water running down her, as her mane dripped all over. She notticed with curious fascination the way the youngling produced Ice with her breath. How fascinating. And handy. Zephyiote only knew fire. But this girl knew fire and ice. Granted Zephyiote's magical skills lie in other fields than elemental breath weapons, she was still prone to admire others that posessed skills she did not.
