Bui was wandering away from home again. Something that had become somewhat of a trend, but he couldn't really help himself. What he saw in his visions often got the best of him, and tended to make him want to see what else was out there.
Not that the demon-hunters and their goals weren't satisfying, because they most certainly were. They were the brave and the strong among a sea of cowards and evil demons, which meant they had to be strong. So, he had to explore and know the world's boundaries while he was small. Even if his visions showed him the world beyond the pride's boarders almost every day.
But today, he had seen something else in his visions... something strange. A creature he had never seen before, which was coming closer to his home land. He had seen cheetahs in his visions before, but never had he met one up close. And he wanted to.

Pilot padded quickly through the brush. Her head barely peeked over the top as she went on her way. Little green paws, surprisingly quick, moved in an almost dance like grace as she glided through the brush.
She had no where really where she was going. Pilot always followed the wind where ever it would take her and figured that questions could be asked at another time. The cub had no family she could speak of and had only really come across one friendly lion in her travels. The thought that there were others in the world beside her and the wind never really occurred to her that often. Living on your own for so long tends to make you unaware of others. Not that she was selfish, just her mind was else where and her only true friend that stuck by her was that of the wind.
Course Pilot was slightly bigger now and stronger but she was still quite small.

Bui blinked. There it was, the cheetah. Or at least... he was pretty sure his mom called them cheetahs. So he supposed that was what she was? Maybe? He had no idea, but he was fairly determined to find out. So he moved towards her, his light paws carrying him with all the grace his demon-hunter herritage could afford him.
He paused when he knew he was in her sight-line, "Hey you." He said, loudly, looking at her, "Come over here. I want to see you." His arrgance had always been a problem, as his mother had pointed out. But he didn't really care. He only saw himself as a warrior, anyone who wasn't a warrior was a coward. And that wasn't about to change.
No matter how interesting he found the other creature he was about to meet. Even if she was bigger than he was. But he didn't really see the problem with that, because as far as he was concerned she couldn't be all that strong if she wasn't in his pride.

Pilate had not even sniffed the air and smelled the other approaching. She only realized some one was close after a 'hey you' had been called out towards her. The cheetah turned and came to a stop looking at a cub that was slightly smaller than her. Pilate sniffed a little and trotted over to him seeing him as no threat.
"Can I help you? Are you lost?" She blinked and sniffed at him again than sniffed the air to see if he wasn't being used as bait. It was safe it seemed. Obviously Pilate wasnt the most careful cheetah being sneaked up on but she was pretty sure she could out run most as long as they weren't other cheetahs.

Bui watched her and raised an eyebrow, "Do I look lost to you?" It was a rhetorical question of course... but the other creature did make him curious. She was... wierd to look at, but not in a bad way. He had seen leopards before, there were plenty in his pride. But never a cheetah before...
"You're a cheetah, right?" He asked her, deciding to skip all the formatilities right off the bat. He wanted to get to the point, and the point was, she was very much someone he had never seen before. And that was... neat, in some ways. He supposed.

Pilate tilted her head some at how direct he was but she did not mind really. "Yeah I'm a cheetah and you're a lion," She was not all that sure why she pointed out he was a lion. Guessed it just seemed like something to say at the time.
"Sooo, are you out hunting?" The cheetah tilted her head at the other cub. Really Pilate did not know what to make of him. He was small but he seemed to carry him self like he was a lot bigger. It baffled her some.

Bui tilted his head and rolled his eyes, "Yes. Yes, I am a lion. I just wanted to make sure you were a cheetah, because I've never seen one for real before. Just in my head." He didn't really care if she understood him or not. His visions were his own business. The fact that she was a part of them had nothing to do with it. Not at all.
"No. I'm patrolling. There are demons around here, and I have to make sure they don't get back to my pride." Well, technically that was his mother's job, and she would have his hide for being out without her... but he wasn't going to admit that, "You should be more careful around here."

Pilate looked down at the short lion and smiled biting back her tongue so she wouldn't laugh at him. He was so adorably little, not that she wasn't, but she was not out looking for trouble. Something about this boy mad her bite her tongue. She was sure he was the type to hold grudges and did not like being called cute.
"Is that so?" She grinned at him. " I feel a lot safer that your here than. I've never seen a demon or a god before in my life but I'll have to take your word for it." She smiled wider, " After all I'm not a great demon chaser." It took all her might to swallow her laughter. Really it did.

It was probably for the besy that Pilate didn't call Bui cute, because he most certainly wouldn't have appreciated it very much. Though he could tell she was trying hard not to laugh at him, and he did find that a little annoying. But he managed to remain calm, and keep his face icy.
"Yes, it is so. There are gods around here too." Bui looked proud at that particular fact, "My father happens to be one of them. And my mother is a demon hunter too." He seemed even more, oddly, proud of that. Or maybe he was just proud in general. It was hard to tell.

Pilate's face relaxed as the humor drained from the conversation. Point blank the boy was proud of his upbringing. The cheetah sighed a long drawn out sigh. Talk of family was starting to get her just a little envious but she didn't let that show.
"Gods huh?" The cub slouched some as she sat focusing her bright pink eyes on Bui. "That must be some punishment you get if you do something bad" with the last comment she couldn't help but laugh like a hyena.

Bui tilted his head to the side, obviously not understanding the girl who stood before him. She was very odd indeed, and didn't seem to understand the... "gravity" of his "position".
"My father doesn't live with us." He said bluntly, though he didn't seen anything wrong with that. His father was the God of wandering. That meant he couldn't stay with their family, and only visited on occasion.

Pilates ears folded back some unable to think of anything to say to that. Awkward airs filled the seconds making them feel more like a few minutes then seconds.
"Thats ... Well thats how lots of families out here are I suppose." She had no clue in all honesty how most families were but she was the type to comfort. Pilate paced from side to side in a steady fluid motion, "Well .. umm .. Would you like to escort me to the other edge of these lands? I mean.. since I am not a demon hunter or daughter of a god." She smiled down at him.

Bui was about to frown... but then the odd girl suggested that he protect her. Now that sounded a great deal more like what he wanted to do. All awkwardness faded, and he rose his head high, nodding.
"Yes... I think that would be best. I would hate for an innocent creature to get caught up in our war. Come on, follow me." He said, nodding to her as he practically pranced off with her following him. He was quite pleased that she had asked for his protection. "I guess a lot of families are like mine. I never really thought about it. My dad is the God of wandering. So he can't stay with us. And he isn't a warrior like mom."

Even though a tingling urge crept through the back of her mind to sprint past him, Pilate was sure to stay behind him. That would probably piss him off if she started running. . Pilate, instead, made sure the lion cub stayed in front.
"I think its lucky such a helpless creature, such as my self, was able to find some one brave enough to protect me in these parts, " Pilate wasn't being sarcastic in this since. Though she was more glad to have his company, even for a short while. The cheetah was a wander her self, like his father sounded like, but she was lonely at her core. Being alone most of her life had made her forget how nice it was to have company.
In a strong over sorrow filled feeling she couldn't help but muttered softly, "I ... I'd like to come visit you again.." The words spilled out of her mouth before she meant them too. "I mean.. If I ever come back would you .. protect me again?" Pilate tilted her head and her ears flopped a little to the side.

Bui looked back at her curiously, tilting his head, "Of course. I am a demon-slayer, I will protect anyone who wants my help. So... feel free. I would be happy to help." If anything made Bui happy, because he really did seem like a cold fellow, despite his young age.
"And yes... just be careful of going west. That's where the demons live. South-west there are vampires, so you shouldn't go down there either. Our land in between them and other creatures deliberatly, so that no one will be able to get past us and find innocent creatures to harm." He liked sounding so knowledgable. Really, he was just spouting back things that his mother had told him... but he had a good memory.
"If ever you decide to pick up the claw and tooth against evil, you should come back here. I'm sure we can find some way to use your help." He mentioned, clearly meaning it. He did like the girl. She seemed to know what she was doing.
