Moving through the tall grass, the blades parted to the mass of adolescent lion like the waves to a ship. Each paw step left a shallow print; he was moving away not trying to hide. Well, any more, the mother-snatchers were not in sight so he didn't have to hide. His ears were low as he thought about the cubs his mother birthed. Tail twitching he thought in resentment of the affection stolen from him, all the time greedily taken by the mew little creations.

Dakarai didn't hate cubs, in truth he loved them. It was the fact that they had stolen his mother from him that made him avoid them. Why Taj adored him and the others seemed to be everywhere he turned was mind boggling.

Glancing around, he saw nothing following him. Feeling free of the cling-ons, his blue eyes looked forward to the watering hole. Veering to the left, he started toward Tiamat and Naga'nika's den hoping to find them. He needed to be with his friends, they would make him feel better and no fuzzy leechs.

Her red eyes kept her brother's figure in her sight. Tzila made sure to stay a little bit away from her older brother. Her tiny paws pressed lightly into the ground as she glanced down, noticing the difference between Dakarai's paw print and her own. She had much growing to do.

As she had snuck away from her mother's ever watchful gaze, she loved all her siblings but it was Dakarai out of all that caught her interest the most. She wanted to spend time with him, but he didn't seem to want to spend any time with her. So, she followed after him, quietly and a ways behind, so that she didn't get in his way but very curious as to where he was going.

If Daka knew what it was that made the fuzzy leaches cling to him so, he'd do everything in his power against it. With a heavy sigh, he shook his head and tried to push them out of his head. Evil things took his mother from him, but they wouldn't take his peace completely away.

Pausing, the young lion made a sound, a deep chest call. He was searching for his friends and hadn't seen them yet. Raither then wonder aimlessly, he thought calling out for them might help.

When her older brother made a call, Tzila paused, wide-eye and curious. Was he planning on meeting any of his friends? If so, she wanted to meet them! When Dakarai was searching for his friends, her crimson eyes searched the area as well before she went closer to her brother before coming to stand right next to him.

She looked up at him and smiled, "Are you waiting for your friends, Daka?"

Looking around, Daka kept a vigil as he searched. Now where were they? Standing still, he gazed, thinking of where he might find them. Naga'nika loved the watering hole; since this was a bust might as well try there.

Lost in thought, he missed the little cling-on that had followed him. It wasn't until she spoke that Daka was aware of her being there. Claws in the earth, he steadied himself from the heart attack. Looking down he asked her, "What are you doing out here, Tzila? Go home; mother is probably worried about you." Tail twitching, he resented the extra time the cubs got that he couldn't have. Now Tzila wanted to take time from him with his own friends? Furry leeches

It had taken her brother a little while to notice that she was here. Had she kept hidden that well from her brother or was he ignoring her? Tzila couldn't tell, but at her age, it didn't phase her.

At his words, her ears drooped slightly as she looked at him, "She won't notice I'm gone, she has other cubs to worry about." She huffed slightly and turned her head. Her crimson gaze settled on a figure some distance off. It was a lioness, one she's never seen before but as green as the grass itself!

Tiamat has dragged her sister away from their family's den in order to go and have some fun. It hadn't been too long since they had spent time together as Tia was always out and about while Naga'nika just kept to the areas that she was comfortable with. With a sigh, the green lioness had all but given up on getting her sister to come with her on an adventure when a familiar call sounded.

Her ears perked forward as she felt a grin tug at the corners of her mouth. Oh, she knew that call very well! Her golden eyes lit up as she looked to her sister, "Did you hear that? That sounded like Dakarai!"

With much protest and pouting, Naga'nika had convinced her sister that she was not ready to go so far on an adventure, especially one of Tia's. She just didn't feel up to it and could only imagine all the kinds of dangers that her sister enjoys on a daily basis.

But she had stuck close to her sister, trying to hint that they should go play in the watering hole or in the grassy plains around them, but her sister wasn't picking up on her subtle clues. Just as she was about to tell her sister something, she too had also heard her best friend's call. Well, perhaps this dreary day would brighten up afterall! She could feel herself perk up as she looked to her sister, "Yes, I heard that! Let's go and find him!"

Tzila didn't know how lucky she was, made him miss his mother's affection even more. "Tzila, when I was a cub, I wondered off and Momma recognized I was missing in short order, my litter was as big as yours." It had been so scary, huge birds threatening his very life with their sharp claws and hateful sounds. Speaking of, his eyes traveled up, gazing for trouble, unconsciously moving to blocking his little sister from the sky's view. Nothing too dangerous was flying, about the only place trouble would come from in the pridelands.

Eyes sweeping downward he recognized the familiar shapes in the distance, ears falling. No, sure he had been looking for them but now, he so didn't want to be found. Had he gotten Tzila home, then there wouldn't be a problem. However, how could anyone but him resist the fuzzy attention leeches? He could almost hear 'where is your adorable little sister?' Lowing his head he mumbled to himself, "Great,".

He had to call out now, it would be rude not to, "Naga'nika! Tiamat!" There was a smile but there was also a jealous juvenile kicking a rock and pouting within.

If Tzila was hurt by his reaction she did not show it. Regardless of what Dakarai thought, she didn't want to go back home. She wanted to be with him! He was her coolest big brother! She blinked a few times before she heard him call out some names.

His friends? They were coming here! She got excited and smiled brightly. She had always wanted to meet his friends, she heard him talk about them a lot...even if she wasn't supposed to listen in on him half of the time.

And sure enough she had been right as she heard their best friend call their names. Tiamat grinned to her sister before the pair headed over in Dakarai's direction. It didn't take her very long to spot the little cub close to him. Ah...so this must be one of his little siblings...unless he was a father and didn't tell them! She gasped mentally before she shook it away. Highly unlikely.

"Dakarai! It's nice to see you," She shifted her gaze to the cub, "And who did you bring with you?"

Dakarai's voice made her smile slowly as Naga'nika nodded to her sister. "Let's go and see him!" A light spring in her step at the idea of seeing her best friend. She didn't pick up the cub as quickly as her sister did. The green lioness didn't notice the cub until they were almost to Dakarai.

She felt herself get a bit nervous and shy. This was someone new...someone she didn't know. Who was she? She looked at her sister quizzically but got no answer. She just turned back to Dakarai with a weak smile and a quiet greeting, "Hi Dakarai." Before her eyes settled on the cub.

He didn't bring her with him, the young lion protested in his mind. Tail low, he kept the smile he had shown and took the step he had no choice in taking, "It is great to see you both, this is one of my little sisters Tzila." With that in mind, he glanced behind him; did anyone else happen to follow? Didn't appear so, besides Tzila, the only other one that was part of what he saw as his stalking club would be Taj and that cub couldn't be silent if his life depended on it. One day it would, but he was a cub. Any soft thoughts were shaken away; they stole his mother from him, after all.

Better introduce before he looked bad in front of his two closest friends. "Tzila, I would like to you meet Tiamat and her sister, Naga'nika." As he said the name of each of the lovely felines, he tilted his head in their direction. Gently pointing each out seemed more polite though he doubted that they wouldn't distinguish themselves all on their own. "They have been my best friends almost all of my life." Having no idea he had been over heard, he felt he had to do the introduction justice by explaining who they were to him.

With a bright smile, Tzila looked at each of the two lionesses. They were even more impressive than she had ever imagined! Her tail flicked from side to side as she greeted them, "Hi! I'm Tzila...and Dakarai's my big brother!" She purred softly before she tilted her head to the side, "Do you all play games together?"

To Dakarai, Tiamat was happy to see him. "We were just going to search for you, but you saved us the trouble, Dakarai!" It would appear that they all never parted and Tiamat would have been happy to spend all day with her sister and Dakarai. They had tons of fun together afterall.

But the cub caught her attention. "Tzila is it? It is nice to meet you," She lowered her head to the cub's level, "Is Dakarai your favorite brother? I should hope so, he is only the coolest lion out there and our best friend!"

She let her sister do all the talking with the cub. Naga'nika wasn't sure what to make of the cub. Dakarai had little siblings...could that mean, she could have little siblings? She hoped not! That would be just terrible! She shook her head as she moved closer to Dakarai and spoke to him, "How have you been, Dakarai?"

Looking down to the young cub by his paws, then back up to his best friends, Daka watched. Tzila was being her adorable self, he grudgingly admitted to himself, and grateful his best friends were being their great selves. The urge to dye his mane and slick off kicking something faded each moment more.

Grinning to Tiamat, he playfully commented, "Always happy to take the trouble for my friends." There was a thought going through his mind, to be scare to find, but as soon as it came, it left. They all had a great friendship, playing around and having fun all the while being relaxed. There was peace and fun with his friends, how lucky he was that they stumbled upon him all those months ago.

Listening to Tiamat talk to his sister, he waited to see if both she and Naga'nika would turn their attention to the little cub. Tia did, but his ego flew instead of slinking away. One would think he was blushing, but fur does a great job of hiding anything that might be there.

Attention taken from the cub and Tia, he turned to look at Naga'nika. Smiling warmly to her, ears perked up. "I have been alright, adjusting." Tilting his head to Tzila to indicate what he was adjusting to, attention stealers. "How are you doing?"

Her eyes widen as Tzila listened to Tiamat talk. "Really? Of course he is! I knew he was the coolest, even if he tries to pretend he's not!" She grinned smugly, afterall, between all her older siblings she liked Dakarai the most. Perhaps because he was the most interesting and had cool friends! "One day, I'll be as big as everyone!"

As she got most of the attention from Tiamat, she let her gaze shift slightly to her brother and the other green lioness, Naga'nika. She must be shy, but her sister wasn't? She kept half her attention on Tiamat and the other half on her her brother and Naga'nika. The little cub didn't want to miss anything!
