Alazne::; -paws at Triston's stripy tail and swishes her own- >3
Triston: *swerves around and faces the culprit~ D;
Alazne::; -jumps a bit and smiles sheepishly, tucking her tail just a bit- Sorry. It's so much longer than mine, though. And you've got stripes! And hair kinda like mine, huh? -peeks under his fringe to try and see both of his eyes-
Triston: ~pulls back just a bit and raises an eyebrow~ Yeah...
Alazne::; -tilts her ears back and takes a step closer, pulling back up to her full stature and pushing it hair back- You don't talk much, do ya?
Triston: ...~blinks~ ...Sure?
Alazne::; -grins a bit- Well, that certainly answers my question. So, where did you come from, Mister Talkative?
Triston: Who knows? ~shrugs and then stretches out his arms popping his back~ Because I don't....
Alazne::; Good point... -flicks her ears a bit, trying to figure out where the cattaur maybe came from- Don't really know where I came from either. -yawns- What d'you like to do?
Triston: ...What? ~crosses his arms and looks at her trying to figure out what she wants from him~
Alazne::; -raises a brow in his direction- 'What' as in, what do you like to do? By which I mean, what do you do for... fun. Or for sport, given you don't seem like much of a 'fun' sort of guy.
Triston: O.o I....do things. ~really doesn't know what exactly to say~ You?
Alazne::; -tilts her head a bit- Huh... that was... specific. [/sarcasm] I... don't do very much. Get food, keep away from the wolftaur who captured me the first time. -jingles the chain on the collar around her neck-
Triston: ~raises and eyebrow but reaches out to touch the chain~ Why...didn't you fight?
Alazne::; -looks away and shrugs a bit- I was little, and I didn't know how to fight; no one ever taught me. I had to teach myself, and when I got as strong as I needed to be, I ran off. -swishes tail-
Triston: Ah...~pauses before adding~ Running...doesn't always help though...
Alazne::; True as that may be, I didn't have much other choice. -swishes tail- I can't take on an entire tribe of wolftaur by myself. Maybe a few on their own, but I'm not strong enough to do in all of them.
Triston: I see... ~nods sincerely trying to understand even though he would've tried to take them all on before running so at least they would've seen that he wasn't going down without a fight~
Alazne::; -nods a bit, recalling said time period, before shrugging a bit- I don't plan to let them have me back anytime soon, however. Anyway, onto lighter topics. -nods a couple times- You're a cattaur, right? Most cattaurs are good at magic, aren't they? What about you? -headtilt-
Triston: Good...~then silently as she asks him about magic, Triston in one quick movement draws his sword and pierces the ground with it. His bangs slightly raise up in an unseen breeze and his icy blue eyes flash and all in less than a couple of seconds they are surrounded by sparkling ice which has covered the ground. He looks at her now with his usual composure before resheathing his broadsword~
Reyson: *ears perk up at Alazne's voice* Oh! It's that dog-girl. *calls out blindly to her* I can do magic. Lots of it.
Alazne::; -jumps a bit at the abruptness and shivers as the air cools a bit before the ground is covered in ice; gazes at said ground in awe and claws at it gently with her front paw- Wow... That was amazing! -twitches ears at the sound of Reyson's voice before tipping them back and growling just a bit, looking over toward him, then back to the cattaur- You've got an amazing control of your magic- Er, what did you say your name was?
Triston: I never did say. ~actually gives a faint twitch of the mouth in a small smile before returning to neutral~ It's Triston...you?
Reyson: You wanna see? *smirks as he blindly ('artistically') aims a bolt of lightning at Triston and Alazne*
Alazne::; -smiles brightly at the small smile- Mine's Alazn- -spooked by the bolt of lightning and jumps backward, yelping at the suddenness of it; glares toward Reyson and growls- I'm Alazne. -flicks tail irritably, angry with the ragdoll for 'ruining the moment'-
Reyson: *squints at the light* Thanks. *turns to Alazne* How'd you like that? Pretty cool, huh? *puts hands on hips and smirks*
Triston: D= ~snaps his wrist out and had moved in front of Alazne in case the lightening would hit~ Hey! That was dangerous! D;
Alazne::; -growls and tips her ears back- In a different context, perhaps. Given I almost got fried in the proccess, no. D < -glances up at Triston with a less-hostile expression- Thanks for the protection, Triston. ^^;;
Reyson: *stares at Triston* What'dyou want runt? Who're you anyways? *to Alazne* Sorry. My eyes were covered so I must've aimed wrong. Sorry about that. You wanna see something else? ;D
Triston: ~growls and decides he's dealing with a show off idiot~ Don't fire when you can't see, idiot.... ~his eyes flash bright as he glares at Reyson~
Alazne::; -frowns irritably, secretly both agreeing with Triston as well as feeling a bit sorry for Reyson, though she would never admit it; grumbles and crosses her arms, glancing away from Reyson just a bit- No thanks, Ragdoll.
Reyson: Woah. Calm down. You should respect your elders. *grins like a Chesire Cat at Triston* I thought I told you my name was 'Reyson' *raises eyebrow at her* I'm sure I can do more interesting things than sword-boy here.
Triston: Ancient much? ~raises an eyebrow and crosses his arms~ ...Not really worth my time. >< ~turns away from the other cattaur~
Alazne::; -smirks at Reyson- Well, as long as he -gestures toward Triston- is 'sword-boy', you're Ragdoll. And I don't know if you really can... he's got some pretty good tricks up his sleeves...
Reyson: *snorts* Him? Know more magic than me? Please. Well. I don't know his name, so sword-boy'll have to do. *to Triston* Ancient? Not really kitten.
Triston: ~bristles but doesn't say anything back to the other cattaur and instead starts walking/sliding on the ice~
Alazne::; I never said that he knew more magic than you. And his name is- -finally notices that Triston's leaving- Triston- wait- -attempts to follow him, which results in her front paws losing their grip on the ice, and her falling more-or-less on her face- Dx;;
Triston biggrin = ~turns as he hears Alazne and instead of just laughing at her fall, the cattaur walks over and helps her up~ Careful.
Reyson: *snickers and smiles spitefully at Alazne* You have the grace of a pelican pup.
Alazne::; Th-thanks. >///< -feels strangely out of place, not being one to be either embarrassed or helpless, and is currently, more or less, both; glares irritably at Reyson, swishing her tail-
Triston: ~actually looks over to Reyson while supporting Alazne on the ice~ ... And you have the brains of one. ~takes a sliding step forward and looks at Alazne and indicates that she should try copying his movements~
Alazne::; -laughs a bit at Triston's comeback and watches his feet, trying to imitate his motions as best she can, but still stumbles just a little bit, unused to walking on ice-
Reyson: *looks at Triston* You must have the brains of one yourself because you are the one that put the ice there, kitten.
Triston: ~ignores Reyson, actually likes the whole sliding on ice thing, and focuses mainly on helping Alazne out and supporting her on the ice~ Balance...
Alazne::; -slides carefully across the ice, still tripping a bit, trying to find her center of balance-
Triston: ~holds onto Alazne and scoots forward some more before slowly letting go of her~ ... ~moves in front of her and motions for her to comes toward him~
Alazne: -widens her eyes and holds her breath when Triston lets got of her, feet going a bit too wide for a moment, before she slowly slides forward with either foot, grinning brightly at such an accomplishment before she has to use Triston as a stopping tool, giggling a bit in both pride and embarrassment- Sorry about that. ^//^;;

Triston stood perfectly still on the cool ice with his claws barely digging in the surface as he supported Alazne on the ice. His uncovered eye sparkled with some hint of amusement as he nodded at the wolftaur. "It's...fine."
Moving carefully yet gracefully over the familiar element, Triston moved to Alazne's side and held onto her upper arm. "Better though." He commented before gently nudging her forward with him.

Alazne smiled sheepishly, trying to ignore the slight redness on her cheeks, though it's harder in such cold weather. She pulled her too-big shirt back up her shoulders, trying to keep it from falling off, tapping her collar accidentally and making the small piece of chain jingle just a bit once more, swishing her tail to try to balance herself a bit better, though it's not as skilled at doing so as a cat's tail.
She smiled a bit at the compliment, glad that she was actually managing to get better at something like this. Of all things, the cold was one that was definitely unfamiliar to her. She'd had her life in her own hands for only two years now, and for one of them, she was sticking in a town, hiding out in barns and other such buildings, or caves occasionally. She wasn't the type to want to deal with the weather, if such a thing could be helped. And she was definitely glad that for the first time she was ever really trying to deal with the elements of winter, she had someone to help her. With the arm that wasn't being held, Alazne took hold of Triston's lower arm, helping to get her balance once again, sliding across the ice in a way that couldn't be called graceful, but at least it worked. She laughed softly, mostly to herself, before asking, "How do you manage to do this so easily? Well, it is your magic and all, but it's so difficult to balance on!"

If Triston wasn't supporting Alazne he would've given his usual shrug as an answer to her question. Instead he sighed softly and gave her another of his short answers. "Played on ice... as a child." But he also lifted his front paw and with his claws barely extended showed Alazne how he barely dug into the softer top layer of ice.
Then he swished his tail before taking another gliding step forward. Triston felt comfortable on the ice, but wouldn't' openly admit to anyone that it was one of his favorite things. Maybe it had something to do with the depth of his magic roots, but really Triston didn't think to much of magical meanings except on how to use it to fend for himself. Or as in this case....to pass time with some fun though out loud he'd rather just stick to saying it passed time.

"Ah... that makes sense, then," the teen wolftaur replied when given both the physical and verbal answer. She looked down to her own brown-furred feet, and wiggled her toes a bit. Her own claws weren't actually retractable, and were probably one of the things that were helping her to trip so often, but maybe they would help her to walk on the ice rather than slide? She stuck the tips of her claws into the ice gently, taking a careful step forward, each movement requiring it's own portion of thought, so that in case she had any chance of falling, she could catch herself before crashing to the ground again, given her face still stung from that previous little trip.
Surprising the female, she was actually able to take a smooth step, and then another, and even a third, meaning that she might actually be getting the hang of it, though she'd been clinging to Triston's arm rather tightly. She slowly let go of him, watching the icy ground as she took a couple more steps forward. She found that, with the help of her claws, she was able to move much more easily, though it wasn't as much fun as sliding across the ice had been. Taking another step, she decided that she needed to learn how to get her balance better, so she could slide across the ice on her paws. By far, it would be fun compared to these wary steps that she was forced to take.

Watching Alazne's progress at walking on the ice, Triston gave a small encouraging nod. "You're getting it." The cattaur didn't expect her to become an instant pro, but he was hoping that she would get used enough to walking on the ice. Even better if she could glide along as well.
Stretching Triston straightened his tail and slid around Alazne on the ice. After a few gliding moves he stopped the demonstration with a sharp turn stopped his moving body in front of Alazne.

"Thanks," Alazne replied happily, glad that she was making an improvement, and figuring it out, as Triston said. In fact, she decided that she was rather happy that someone was proud of her at all, or at the very least, complimenting her. Maybe friends were, in fact, a good thing to have; she'd been so distrustful after her erratic, unfortunate childhood, that it was no wonder she had a hard time making friends. Maybe she should stop being so hard on Ragdoll; after all, he was just trying to be nice to her, wasn't he? She smiled faintly. Yeah- she would try to be a nicer person after this. Definitely.
Lost in thought as she was, it took a moment for for the wolftaur to notice that the cattaur was circling her, which made her try to almost skid to a stop, which resulted in her flopping into a sitting position, from which she laughed a bit, watching the striped 'taur circle her a couple more times. When stopped, she stood up again, a bit haphazardly, and then raised her claws from the ice, which was rather difficult now that she'd become accustomed to it. She took a few skating-type steps on the ice, gathering a little bit of speed before trying to skid to a halt as Triston had done. Unfortunately, this didn't work as she thought it would, and she lost her footing, crashing to the ice on her side once again.

Triston watched Alazne moving with a content expression that is before she crashed onto the ice. Within an instant the cattaur was bending down beside of her, "You okay?" He asked before holding out a hand to help her up.
Maybe he should be helping her with her balance by being a support again? It was confusing to try helping someone out when he was so used to being on his own and always forcing himself back up. But he wanted to be of some help, after all being on his own in aggravating leaning times like these wasn't always the greatest thing.

Alazne shook her head to rid her bushy hair from the snow that it had acquired with her fall and smiled faintly up at Triston. "Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry about it," she said quietly, taking hold of his hand and helping herself up, thick claws digging into the ice that he'd earlier created. She'd been speaking with the boy for a short while, and had started out being overly-social for herself. Finally, she'd started growing back into her old, quiet habits, where she typically shunned company.
"It'll be kinda hard to get used to this," she said, mostly to herself as she slowly skated forward, gently and slowly letting her hand slip out of Triston's after gaining a decent amount of balance. "You're really good at it, too..." Again, she was talking to herself. She outstretched her paws and dug the claws of one foot into the ice, making the whole back of her body turn back around to face her new friend. "You know, when I was really little, I always wished that I was a cattaur. I'm expected to be all strong and tough, being a wolftaur and all. Cattaur are always so pretty, though, and they know so much..."

Triston blinked at Alazne as she talked to him about wanting to be a cattaur. His face which had been brighter as they had gone along on the ice suddenly returned to its neutral composure. "Not always....." He slid past her and paused there standing next to her with a flicker of thought in his icy eyes. Finally he spoke in his soft somewhat uncaring voice. "But I don't really know any other cattaurs....a foxtaur raised me."
He scooped down and when his hands came back up from touching the ice they were covered in a sparkling mist. Soon though Triston held a glass orb in his hands and gave it to Alazne, "There are more pretty things than just cattaurs." The orb sparkled and as he spoke reflected the wolftaur's image. But then Triston started sliding away from her. Not too far, but so he could skate some by himself. He felt like he himself had talked to much, so he would just wait for Alazne to approach him if she felt like it. After all he was fine with sometimes listening to others....it was having to talk that he didn't much care for.

Alazne ears tilted back as Triston's expression seemed to change a bit, making her feel as though she'd done something wrong. However, now he was actually talking, which made her feel a bit better, for some reason. He almost never spoke, and it was a rarity when she heard his voice. Now she was thinking of him as though she'd known him forever, which was certainly not the case. She'd known him only for a short period of time after all, wasn't that right? She gasped softly at the small orb that the other 'taur created, smiling gently as it was handed to her, and she took it with the utmost care.
However, in the same instant that he gave it to her and spoke, she couldn't help but feel her face turn a soft shade of pink, despite the cool air. It had to have been coincidence, though, surely; after all, the teenager constantly looked as though she'd been rolling around in the dirt. There was no way that he'd called her pretty, was there? Well, what better way was there than to ask? She brushed her hair out of her eyes, though it fell right back where it was afterward, and she looked around, only to see that Triston was much further away than she expected him to be.
Not thinking before she acted, the wolftaur took a running-paced step forward, off-balancing herself greatly and sending her crashing to the ground, the small sphere falling from her hands and shattering on the ice. She took a sharp intake of breath when she saw that, sliding forward on her knees and reaching out to take the few whole pieces that were left off the ground. Despite trying to suppress them, she couldn't avoid the tears that prickled at the corners of her amber eyes.

Triston had been lazily moving about by himself in silence before the sharp sound of a crash snapped him back to attention. He looked back somewhat worried that Alazne had really hurt herself this time. Seeing her still on the ice with an odd expression, Triston quickly moved back towards her.
He slowed down as he saw that she had shattered the ice orb and not a bone. Still he couldn't help but to feel concerned about her expression. With slow hesitant movements Triston crouched down next to Alazne. Silently he took her hands and made her hands cradle the icy pieces. Then after reaching up to wipe a lone tear from the wolftaur's eye, Triston allowed the drop fall softly from his index finger and onto the pieces. A small mist formed as Triston clasped Alazne's hands together in his own allowing his magic to gently move through the two of them.
Several steady heartbeats later Triston gently pulled his hands back at the new weight of a fixed orb in Alanze's hands. The orb sparkled even prettier than what it had before being broken. "See? You fixed it, Alazne." He whispered with a faint smile on his features.

"I didn't- I mean, I'm- I'm sorry, Triston. I didn't mean to... I just slipped," the normally firm-featured wolftaur whimpered when she heard the boy approach. She looked up with bright, watery yellow eyes toward the other 'taur, her tail flicking at just the tip, before it tucked itself beneath her, worried that she'd disappointed her newfound friend. Or, company, at the very least. Perhaps she hadn't yet grown accustomed to the actions of most 'taur, as she had been misled with that thought when Triston cupped his hands around her own, before gently wiping a tear from one of her eyes.
It was a strange feeling, trying to trust someone, or being able to despite the fact that they almost didn't speak. Most people took so long to earn her trust, and yet this boy had gained it in a very short amount of time. Alazne twitched in surprise when her hands were clapped together by his own, her ears flattening curiously as she watched the events unfolding before her own eyes. She was unused to spending time around cattaur, though those were of the few 'taur who garnered her attention, and so magic was such an interesting thing to her. Since she was a child, she'd wished that she could do such things with the touch of her hand.
When her hands were released, the orb was in the center of them once more, yet somehow... changed, just slightly. A bright smile lit up her softly tanned face, and she looked from the orb back to the cattaur with what felt like inexpressible joy, at least to one who'd spent most of her life in captivity. Taking the orb tightly in one hand, she threw her arms about Triston's shoulders, regaining her composure a moment afterward and pulling back, her face turning a soft shade of red as she looked away sheepishly. She wiped the stray tears away from her eyes, and smiled a bit again. "Sorry, Triston. But... thank you. Very much..."

Baffled, Triston froze in place with wide eyes as Alazne hugged him. Feeling something warm for once and being hugged at the same time had definitely startled Triston. After all he usually was barely warm at times and usually his skin was a cooler to the touch than most, plus he wasn't used to physical contact from others. But he regained some of his composure as Alazne thanked him. "Ah." Triston slowly gave a nod before standing up.
"Enough of this ice?" He asked holding out a hand once again to help Alazne to her paws. He waited patiently for her reply and glanced down at her.
Looking at the wolftaur made Triston truly glad that he had been able to do something to help stop her tears. The instant relief that he had felt when she had given him that small smile as she thanked him was still there as well.

Alazne nodded just a tad at Triston's acceptance of her thank you, her tail swishing gently to-and-fro. It was true that she, as well, wasn't exactly accustomed to physical contact. However, when she was small, the other children would often keep close for warmth; as a result, she'd learned to cherish physical closeness when it was affectionate in some form or fashion, while violence tended to do the same to her as it did most: Make her both scared and angry. As a result, she usually ended up a bit violent as well.
When she was questioned about the ice and offered a hand to help her up, the wolftaur smiled and took Triston's hand with the one that wasn't holding the orb close to her, worried both that it might melt and that she might drop it again, though it seemed almost too solid to ever be able to melt. She questioned if it was truly made of ice; it was completely flawless, after all. "I believe that I've had enough for today, yes," she said sweetly, making sure not to sound like she didn't dislike the ice. In fact, she'd have quite a bit of fun skating across it, so she really didn't think that doing so another day would be all that bad for her.
When she looked down at the orb once more, hand no longer in Triston's as she carefully skated across the ice, she recalled the entire reason that she'd stood so abruptly. Her face turned bright red at the thought, and she looked down at her paws as they glided semi-gracefully across the solid water. "Umm... Triston?" she asked for the boy's attention, and even that made her face go a darker colour, making her laugh at her herself just a bit, nervousness obvious in the soft sound. "I was just curious... but, earlier, when you gave me the first orb... you said that there were more pretty things than just cattaur... and, I mean, the little orb was... um, I could see my own reflection in it, and, like, I was wondering..."
