I'll have a whole month to do nothing between semesters and I've decided I want to learn the tarot and runes. I'm more partial to learning runes. Where do you think I should start with my learning. Should I just stick to one for now or what?

Doing one at a time is best. Since you are more interested in Runes. I would start with runes. Names and meanings are best to start learning first before you start looking and doing spreads.

Do you think I should get a certain type of runes? Do they make different types, cause I know there are different types of tarot cards.

Then they have sets at Barnes and Noble but I think those are plastic.

I have a set of wooden ones that I bought for 7 bucks and they are made from willow branches.

I think that is what I will do. I saw an exercise where you walke threw the woods to find your branch, and then make them yourself using a saw and wood burner, which I might do when I get more apt at making them.
