Two questions for all you who are or have been pregnant, if you can remember about when these were for you!
1.) When did you first feel fetal movement, especially in a subsequent pregnancy?
2.) When did your belly-button start to protrude?
I've been googling and looking on pregnancy sites and reading pregnancy books, and it seems that belly-buttons protrude in mid to late second trimester, or around 23-26 weeks, and the earliest fetal movement felt in subsequent pregnancies is 13 weeks, although usually not til about 16 weeks in most pregnancies.
I kept track of symptoms from my last pregnancy, and my belly-button started sticking out with Amber at 20 weeks. I'm only 10 weeks and my belly-button started to poke out last week around Thanksgiving, and now the upper half is clearly poking out! And I swear I've felt fetal movement since about 8 weeks, but both of those seem insanely early!
So either my symptoms are due to something else completely (although it's hard to fake a protruding navel, and I'm normal weight, but showing already), I have the timing of my pregnancy way off (although I know when I last had a period, and it was normal and on time), or I'm expecting multiples. I know every woman suspects multiples at some point, and it's not likely in my family or for being part Asian, but I won't have my first physical/ultrasound until next week. Oh, or the other option is that this is just a really weird pregnancy! I did see a site saying third pregnancies are often completely different and unpredictable!

1) Around 16 weeks both times 2) Never
If I recall correctly, I read somewhere that fetuses do not start to move in utero until about 12 weeks, so if you think you're feeling movement now, it's likely gas. I know with my second I was more sensitive to that the second time around. I would feel every little twinge in my belly.
Now with my second, my belly popped out a lot earlier, right about 7 1/2 weeks so I already looked about 4 months pregnant from the start. Never had my belly button pop out though. smile

1) about 16 weeks the first time, 13/14 weeks the second. 2) I never really cared to pay attention to my belly button, lol
Yeah, it's probably gas, lol. I will say the following pregnancies you tend to be a lot more aware of bodily functions. At 8 weeks, the fetus barely has "flippers."
It's very common to show with additional pregnancies as well. The stomach muscles can often lack the tone from before having children. Bloating is also an option, depending on constipation, gas, etc. I wouldn't say I'm showing per se, but at 8 weeks I'm pretty bloated, but I know my uterus isn't that big from what I can feel.
LOL The statistics aren't really conclusive regarding race and multiples, there's really some insane statistics out there regarding twinning, so I wouldn't put much stock into it.
I'd wait till the appointment, but I'm more inclined to think it's the territory of subsequent pregnancies!

Yeah, definitely no twins, we found out today at the ER. But one healthy (active!) one!
When I saw my first ultrasound in my first pregnancy at 8 weeks, Jade was bucking around a lot and I was amazed she was moving so much and I couldn't feel it! I didn't feel her move until 16 weeks, and with Amber (my second) not until 19 weeks, and Amber hardly moved at ALL the whole pregnancy! If she moved once, that was it, and you couldn't expect her to move again for a long time, so hubby only felt her one lucky time! Jade was so opposite and there was hardly a time she WASN'T moving!
With this one, especially this week (11wks 2d), I can definitely feel a bump or sometimes a push, and it's not gas. I can tell when it's gas because it soon "passes." And this movement is always, always in the same very small location, also where the ultrasound tech found it today. And I confirmed the movement on the screen when I felt it, so I'm sure for myself that I'm feeling it. Another site I went to had plenty of mothers saying 11 and 12 weeks, so I feel reassured.

I'm at about 15 weeks right now, and I started feeling very light kicks at 13 weeks and I was the only one who could feel them. Now, they're stronger and my husband has really been feeling them. With my first, I didn't feel anything until almost 20 weeks.
I'm looking like I swallowed a basketball ALREADY! With my first, I didn't show too much until about 6 months in.
I've got my next appointment on the 30th, and I wish it was an ultrasound, but I won't get my first one until I'm at 20 weeks. >_< I wanna know what this baby so I can stop calling it "it."
