Mike Landry (C) vs Cartwright vs Kelly King 2.0
All three men were in the ring, following 2.0's return to action, from his exploration in the crowd. They had all been fighting it out, no one seemingly able to get the upper-hand, with the 3rd man coming in to play.
Cartwright was on the floor, after a Snap Suplex from Landry, leaving 2.0 to try and take the advantage. Both men grappling with the other, a quick toe stomp was enough to break Landry's concentration and hold, leaving an opening for Kelly. Stepping back, 2.0 then ran forward, hitting the Laptop Cutter, on Landry!
King's quick reactions soon followed, as a pin attempt was put in, hooking the leg of the downed Mike Landry. However, a leaping Cartwright was quick to stop the count at 1, thus continuing the match.
Getting to his feet, and pulling up 2.0 with him, Cart then sent King hurtling towards the ropes, with a hard Irish Whip. On the way back, Cartwright sent himself flying in the air, attempting a Spinning Wheel Kick, only for King to duck. Rebounding back towards Cartwright, 2.0 then hit him with a Flying Reverse Elbow, sending the already unbalanced Cartwright back to the mat.
That's when it seemed to be all over. Dragging Cartwright towards the centre of the ring, King threw out a taunt towards the crowd, before flipping Cart on to his stomach, grabbing his legs. With not much resistance from the fatigued Cartwright, King was able to lock in a move that he is well-known for, the TF 2.0!
The pain was clearly seen as agonizing on Cartwright's face, as the Inverted Kneeling Sharpshooter was locked in. The fatigue was also set in, not giving him the real strength and determination that he needed to reach the ropes, leaving him with nothing but pure pain to deal with.
The Referee was on the mat, watching King's movements, and checking on Cartwright. However, Cart seemed unwilling to submit, not wanting to give up on the Championship shot that he had worked so hard to gain.
Beads of sweats trickled down the face of Cartwright, as he slowly made his way towards the bottom rope, gradually dragging King with him. In a crawling method, he made his way closer to the ropes, one drag at a time. That was, before King pulled Cartwright back in to centre of the ring!
Then, the moment came. Cartwright tapped once, tapped twice, and then...Mike Landry hit 2.0 in the back of the skull with a hard Dropkick!
A last-gasp move, as Cartwright went flacid on the mat, after the devastating Submission maneouvre.
However, it semed as though 2.0 wasn't finished, and he brought himself back to his feet, staring in the eyes of his long-time foe and friend, Mike Landry. A test of their remaining strength came, and it ended with Landry gaining the upper-hand, as he had rested before. With King in a side Headlock, it was then that the reactions and initiative of 2.0 came in to play, running at the turnbuckle, and flipping back, forcing Landry to let go of the Headlock.
However, he wasn't prepared for what happened next. Out of pure skill, from the current WWE:E Champion, Landry actually managed to catch 2.0 on his shoulder, the perfect setup for the Imperial Facebuster!
There as nothing 2.0 could do, as Landry hit the move with dominance.
Dropping for the pin, a quick Cartwright pounce, once again, stopped the match. The crowd all cheered for Cart, who had nearly tapped less than 30 seconds ago.
Not allowing Landry to get up, a hard kick was directed at his face, which connected. Looking around him, Cart then hobbled towards the turnbuckle, taking his time to climb it, before reaching the top, and raising his arm in the air. Met with a chorus of cheers, he then leaped in to the air, landing on top of Landry with the Cartwright Crush!
Bouncing back to his feet, Cart then started to cheer along with the crowd. Turning around, knowing that he must pin Landry right now, all was not well for Cartwright. Using every last part of energy within himself, King was now back to his feet, and wrapped his arm around the neck of Cartwright.
The crowd fell silent, as Cartwright went from a high to a low. Literally.
The 2.0ver connected, but did leave both men laid out on the mat, fatigue having set in as much as it ever would. They both gasped for air, the only thing keeping them going in this match being adrenaline.
"1!
2!
3!"
The bell then rang, after the move had been hit. All three Superstars were oblivious to the fact that when King had hit the 2.0ver, both Cartwright and King had an arm resting over the body of Landry.
The Referee had counted, as he was obligated to, and had called for the bell, to signal the end of the match. Confusion then struck the whole crowd, everyone wondering what had just happened. Those who had seen the pin, now questioned who was the new Champion, with both of the Challengers having fallen over at the same time, and the Ref having counted for both of them...
