Nov. 7th, 09~ Lessa has bought a new, strange goblet. Feb. 12, 09~ Lessa's dracling has arrived! Dec. 1, 08~ This journal is open! **Just a little something to get you started. What you write in this journal is up to you, though it should involve you rping that you're interacting with your dragon. First though, you have to get your dragon. Write a little story/description of a dream you've had or just one you've made up. I'll read this and use it to design your dragon. Please, don't say anything about the dragon itself, just the dream. Once I post in here with your dragon, you're free to keep posting whatever you want. About Rakiba: A male dragon, this drake has chunks of ice growing from his spine. They'll grow like fingernails do on humans, but when they get too long, they simply break and bits fall off. Its a slow process though, so its not like he leaves a trail of ice cubes. His eyes lack irises, but he can see just fine. He's also a great swimmer with that special tail. His horns appear tree-like, but its just a coloring thing, they are indeed horns. About Agatha:This female has delicate flowers blooming from her head. The number of flowers can vary from 3 up to 11 and is connected with her mental and physical well-being (6 is about average). She does not do well in cooler environments and does her best to avoid them-- however, if she finds herself in them her 'wings' can engage in a form of photosynthesis, warming her core temperature. They are, obviously, useless for flight. About Transvaal:The red color of this female is actually deceiving, she is in no way poisonous. However, she does release pollen from the scale-like growths on her head and foreleg. When humans come in contact with this, they often find themselves quite suddenly lulled to sleep. The reaction in dragons varies from the same as humans to no reaction and every stage in between. The petal-like growths tend to grow with age and fall out, only to begin anew. About Shreece:This female winged wyrm has a variety of bony growths from her head and her wings mimic this (although the wing growths are not bone). While not fragile, they could not be used as formidable weapons, either, and mostly serve to make her seem larger. Her tail is made of very fine hair that has a tendency to curl and almost knot itself up. For whatever reason it easily untangles itself when wet so it is not an issue to keep. The most interesting thing about her is hinted by her coloration. She has the ability to manipulate mental passageways connected with vision and tint the incoming information, often choosing to make everything appear caramel-colored and allow her to hide easily. She may, however, choose any monochromatic color scheme and force her "victim" to see in this as long as she stays within 100 yards.

It was dark; I couldn't remember where I was. Groggily I got to my feet and peered around me. Grey shapes shifted in and out of view and slowly trees took form. Wherever I was, it had to be the middle of the night. The back of my head ached and throbbed. I must have fallen and hit my head. That's why I couldn't remember where I was. Yes, that made sense.
Now the question was what did I do? Did I stay here or try to get some place where someone might be able to help me? Who was "me" for that matter?
I sat back down at the base of a tree and tried to figure out what I had been doing before I got here. I couldn't remember anything about what had happened, no matter how hard I tried. Frustrated, I heaved myself to my feet again and started walking in the direction I was already pointed. Leaves rustled underneath my feet as I walked and occasionally a twig would snap as I stepped on the forest debris.
Suddenly the world exploded in a multitude of colors and I dropped to the ground in surprise, shutting my eyes against the overwhelming experience. As I slowly opened my eyes again, sunlight pierced my sight. In a matter of a few instants, it had gone from night to day. The trees’ bark sparkled as if covered in glitter, their leaves heavy with glimmering dew. I was definitely not somewhere I had been before.
Off in the distance I could hear water gurgling along in a stream. Maybe a drink would help me clear my head a bit. I turned in that direction, moving more swiftly now that I could see the way. The stream came into view after a short distance, but its appearance confused me even more than I had already come to be. It seemed to bubble and burst with heat, yet there were small pieces of what looked like ice glaciers floating around in it.
Moving closer, I felt no warmer and hesitantly held my hand above the surface of the water. I didn’t know if I could drink this water or not, but it couldn’t hurt to try a little bit. At first, I slowly sunk a piece of grass in and back out. It didn’t burst into flame or melt as if it had touched acid. Next, I quickly put one finger in and pulled it back out. The water was slightly cool, promising to be refreshing, and my finger had survived. I licked my finger for a small taste and met with a wonderful, sweet flavor. I dipped both hands in and sipped from the cup shape my palms formed.
After drinking some water and sitting by the stream for a while to make sure there were no ill effects, I got up again and started looking for a way across to the other side. Walking upstream, I discovered that the water source started underground and I was able to cross above it by carefully navigating the now somewhat rocky terrain.
My head was starting to feel better by now, but my limbs were becoming a bit heavy as time drug on. I kept on walking, but it felt like I was getting nowhere. I had entered the edge of the woods across the river a while ago, but every time I looked back, I could still see the shimmer of the water. It was almost like something was watching me from the stream and wouldn’t let me leave.
Suddenly I tripped over a tree root and everything went dark. When I finally opened my eyes again, I could see dim outlines and realized that I was once again in my room. What the heck had that dream been about, and why did my head hurt so much?

It had been a long day. I sluggishly pulled on my pajamas and snuggled into bed. Turning on the bedside lamp, I struggled through a few pages in my latest book before dozing off...
I slowly saw trees coming into focus as I blinked my eyes. I must have lost track of what I was doing again. The area sort of started to look familiar, as if I had been here before. It was also kind of strange that I wasn't concerned about not knowing where I was.
~Welcome back~ a voice echoed in my head. I turned around, peering in the distance. The voice had to have come from somewhere. A flash of black off to the left had me spinning in that direction before coming face to face with a most interesting looking creature. I knew I should be afraid, but something seemed so familiar about this rainbow faced drake.
He swished his tail just above the ground before gesturing for me to follow, heading off into the trees. With a shrug, I followed, not really sure why, but sure that I would regret not going. As we walked, I learned that the creature's name was Rakiba and that he was my dream dragon. I had apparently called him during a dream.
While I was still absorbing all this information, I barely noticed that Rakiba had stopped in front of a colorful flower.
As I bent to touch the petals, the ground shook and my eyes flew open. I had rolled out of bed and woken myself up. Would this magical world be there again the next time I dreamt? I couldn't get the image of the flower out of my mind as I tried to return to the land of dreams.

I looked at the sludgy contents of the goblet, shrugged, held my nose, and swigged the concoction down. Grimacing, I placed the goblet back on the shelf. I'd take care of it tomorrow after I'd had some rest. Burrowing into bed, I rearranged my pillow a few times and curled up into the blankets. I shut my lamp off and quickly fell into the land of dreams, wondering who I would meet this time.
I opened my eyes in the dreamscape and was surprised when I wasn't greeted with any of the dream dragons I'd bonded to. Usually they were right here when I entered Almahat. Things felt off, but I couldn't place exactly what. As I surveyed my surroundings, they took on an unreal sepia color, like something out of an old western movie. Unknown things kept moving just out of the corners of my eyes, but when I would turn, nothing would be there.
I quickly walked through the woods to the river, slipping off my footwear and wading in. Eerie silence was all that I could hear aside from the sounds my feet made as they swished through the water. In the brown light that everything had taken on, the water looked like a trail of flowing caramel, rippling as it wove its way on out of sight.
I followed the river to a large pond where I dove under the tinted surface, delighted to find that in my dream, I could breathe underwater. The feeling of something there just out of sight continued as I dove deeper, quickly squashing any feelings of happiness at the discovery of my ability to not drown. No matter how deeply I swam, everything was still illuminated with an eerie glow. Underwater plants swished back and forth with the currents and bubbles floated up here and there from vents in the earthen columns.
My hair trailed behind me as I swam, smashed against my skull by forward motion, spreading out into wispy tendrils as I glided to a stop. Looking up, I could no longer see the surface of the pool at all and knew that I'd have to be careful in remembering which way was up as I continued my explorations.
Some stones glittered in the mysterious light near one of the vents dispersing air. I paddled over and picked one up, turning it over in my hands. Fear suddenly seized me as the feeling of some Sinister creature directly behind me arose. Without even bothering to look back to see what it was, I knew I had to get out of the pool as fast as possible. Swimming as fast as I possibly could, I followed the direction of the air bubbles up to find my way to the surface. Always the feeling of the creature right behind me kept me going even as fatigue set in. Struggling, I finally broke through the film of caramel water and scrambled up onto the rocky shore.
I heard a large splash behind me as whatever else it was surfaced. I whipped around to face the pool and came face to face with... the floor as I fell off my bed and woke myself up!
