((the dinner time on the invitation is for RP purposes only. In R/L, it's actually whenever people show up, and can have time to RP. I suspect it will take longer to RP the night than one night. ^_^))
The room was all set up. Alida surveyed her handiwork with a nod, and a broad smile filled her face. She had taken large blankets, and fastened them to the top of the bunk beds, letting them drape down the sides to create a cozy tent.
Inside the tent she had some lamps to provide light, and she had cleared the floor to allow for sleeping bags to be laid out. Avery had poked his nose in earlier, but finding the task to look like work, he quickly ducked out again.
Alida left the room, now that it was set up, and went into the living room. She looked over the stack of rented movies that was sitting on the coffee table. She hugged one and bounced on her tiptoes. Mom is the best! She set it back down and thought about what else would be needed.
Snacks... I hope Mom bought some... She climbed up onto the cupboard and opened the door, and saw chips, a couple bags of chocolates, some fruit roll-ups, and a couple other things. She hopped down and went to the freezer, and sure enough, in the freezer were a couple flavors of ice cream and some frozen pizzas.
This is going to be the best sleepover ever! She had a bounce in her step as she returned to the living room, and wondered, I wonder if everyone got their invitations...? She worried her lip as she wondered about this.

Alida sat on the couch, hanging over the back of it to face the door, watching it intently, and waiting. People should start to arrive any time now...

Sylas held the paper in his hands like it was some kind of protective token. It had taken him so long to get it back from Dementia that he was worried he would never be able to leave. Walking down the hall now, he was having second guesses about if he should go. Did she really want him there? Would he know anyone? What would he do with all the strange people around?
The shy angelic boy stopped at the door and looked down at the floor, his hand shakeing as he lifted it to knock softly. "If she doesn't hear.. I.. uh..." He flushed "I.. will.. just.. " He didn't know what he would do if she didn't hear the knocking.
Run? It seemed like an option but he didn't want Alida to think he didn't want to be there. He really did, he was just scared out of his mind. So much so that he had almost forgot to get his PJ's and stuff packed before leaving. If not for constant reminders from his dad he probably would have left with nothing more than the clothing on his back. (figuratively speaking since the poor boy only owns a pair of pants.)

Bane wondered through the halls of the apartment complex, invitation tucked in his back pocket. He knew what the door of Alida's house looked like, Oli and him had gone there to arrange this sleep over. He had wanted to see Alida again, for he hadn't seen her since the first day of adoptions.
He turned one corner after another, looking at the doors with interest. Some of these doors had weird designs on them. Some had weird objects in front of them. Shaking the thought of what the objects might do, Bane noticed a sign directing to the 'Roof Top'. He had gone too far. Turning around, he retraced his steps and walked down to where he had started.
Sweating, and now craving the site of a candle, Bane finally noticed a boy standing in front of a familiar door. The boy looked nervous, embaressed even. Dropping his bag of things, Bane stopped next to him and smiled. "Here for the sleep over?" he asked excitedly.

((Sorry! I worked late the last two nights! ^_^))
Alida continued to stare at the door, after a while becoming almost hypnotized by the concentration and her drifting thoughts.
Suddenly she was jolted out of it by a soft, timid tapping, and she leapt up from where she was draped over the back of the couch. She had to fight a rush of dizzyness, from getting up too fast, and then she was walking quickly to the door. She pulled it open a few inches, and seeing Sylas, she opened it all way.
Bane's here, too! Yay! She opened the door to let them in, and Avery came out from the bedroom to see what was going on.
He looked excitedly between the two boys as Alida pulled them both inside by a hand. I hardly ever get to play with other boys... just my sisters and Colette. And I guess sometimes Ritsu.
As Alida took their bags from them to deposit them in the room, Avery accosted them with several quick questions that seemed to fight to be the first one out. "What's your names? I'm Avery. Are you the same age as Alida? Do you like racecars? Do you like pizza? We have pizza in the freezer, Mom said she'd make some later if we want." He was almost bouncing in his excitement.k
Alida came back out and mock scowled as she paffed Avery lightly over the back of the head to make him shut up, and then grinned at the other two.

Sylas looked down at the floor and nodded a bit to the boy that was next to him. He wondered if this was the other that was listed on the invitation. He flushed and started to turn from the door just as it was opened.
He closed his eyes and turned slowly "Uh.. Hi.. I got an invitation to come here.. and.." He swallowed "Here I am." He wanted to run so fast. He looked down at the floor again and swallowed backing away from the door to let Bane pass. He felt so down now.
"I uh.. er.." He didn't know what to say.

Bane looked at the boy and smiled, walking into the opened door. He hadn't seen Alida's house before, and eagerly wanted too, but he turned around and motioned for the boy to come in. "No need to be scared, tonight is about fun!" he said hopefully.
Seeing that he was a little...shy, Bane smiled again and held out his hand. "My name's Bane, what's yours?" he asked, letting his heavy bag drop to the floor.

She gestured to Avery that he should entertain them, and she picked up their bags and shuttled them off to the room, staggering slightly as one of them dropped off her shoulder and threw off her balance. But she made it without mishap.
Once she got to the room, she saw Sybil curled up on her bed, under the comforter and quilt, her bright eyes peeking out from a slit between the two layers. "Is it the firey one? And the bear giver?" She asked, the second one referring to the white bear that sat prominently at the foot of Alida's bed, with some of her other treasured toys. Alida looked at her strangely, and nodded. She never could figure out how Sybil knew some of this stuff...
She shrugged and deposited the bags next to her bunk, and idly wondered where Ritsu was. In fact, Ritsu wasn't in the bedroom, but hiding out in Rime's room, where Rime was trying to convince him to go out and have some fun. She was winning, mostly for the fact that the only guests that had arrived yet were boys, and there wouldn't be as much a chance of transforming.
Alida went back to the living room, and saw Avery had interrupted whatever conversation the other two might have been having with a balancing act. She slapped her forehead, and took the TV tray away from him before he broke something.
"Awwww! Alida, you're no fun! I was doing fine!" He huffed, and went to throw himself down on the couch, but perked up a few seconds later, asking, "Can we watch a movie? Can we, can we, please?" Alida looked at Bane and Sylas to see what they thought.

Sylas looked nervous and confused. He heard people talking about him he guessed. He flushed and slowly moved into the house, his head lowered and his small wings folded back. He chewed on his lip and looked around, his cheeks flushed. He bit his lip and whispered "Is it okay that I am here.. really I just don't know what is going on." He had always been the shy type, particularly when he didn't know the people he was with. He knew his friend but not anyone else and so he was feeling out of place.
Moving a few steps into the house he stayed silent and flushed "Uh.. er.." The mention of a movie didn't make things easier on him. He had never watched one before, he was always the kind to read books instead. He just swallowed and didn't say anything, his hands twitching a bit.

Alida shook her finger sternly at Avery, causing him to whine loudly, but only for a couple of seconds. Then he turned his flighty attention to something else. She wished she could have had him go somewhere else for tonight... he was tiring.
She sighed, and took both Sylas' and Bane's hands, leading them over to the couch, where she sat down, and pulled on both of their hands until they sat, too, on either side of her. She took her notebook, and wrote, I'm sorry about Avery. He's got no attention span, and is really excited over meeting both of you. He loves meeting new people.
She smiled, and shook her head fondly, then continued to write. Have you introduced yourselves? I might have missed that, but Sylas, this is Bane, and Bane, this is Sylas. Bane likes fire a lot, but he's fun! Sylas is a little shy, but really nice! She paused again, catching movement out of the corner of her eye.
Oh, and that's Sybil, over there. She put down the pencil and pointed to where Sybil was peeking out from around the door jamb at the trio. Alida waved to the little girl, and gestured her over.
Sybil did, sticking close to the wall, her pale eyes locked on the couch. She sunk down to her knees at the couch's arm, and all any of them could see of her was her eyes, curled horns, and the red markings on her forehead, which seemed to glow slightly for a second.
She looked at Sylas, and in her oddly blunt and enigmatic manner, stated, "I know who you like." And that was that. She blinked once, and then sunk down below the level of the arm chair, so none of them could see what she did next.
Alida coughed lightly. She's a little strange. But we love her anyway. Don't pay attention to anything she says, or at least don't take it seriously. She doesn't mean anything by it. Honest. She made sure that both of them read what she wrote, peering anxiously at them to make sure.

Sylas glanced over at the girl, noteing her horns, much like that of his own little sister Dementia. He gave a bit of a smile at that familiarity, until he heard the words. His cheeks flushed and paled at the same time, something that until that moment he wouldn't have believed could happen, his skin going more of a clear milk white, except for two bright spots of color high on his cheeks. He looked down at the floor quickly stammering something. Not even he knew what he had been trying to say though. Not a denial, he couldn't lie even if he wanted to, perhaps leave things out that he would have wanted to say, but if pressed with an issue he couldn't lie about it.
"I...I.. t-thanks.. f-for letting me come here.. I.. n-never visited anyone before..."

Alida nodded, and wrote, You can come here anytime, Sylas, just make sure to call first or something so you know we're in.
Just then, Rime popped out of her room, where she'd promised Alida she would stay unless needed for that night. "Hey, kids! Bane, remember me? Sylas, you're looking as cute as ever." She dimpled at the trio before continuing.
"Are you kids hungry? I can put one of the pizza's in the oven, unless you'd like something else?" She waited, hands on her hips, smiling slightly.

Bane walked about the room, surveying it with interest. He ha dnever actually been in Alida's house before, but had heard, or rather read, many things about it.
The conversation had gone through one ear and out the other, Sylas sort of made Bane uncomfortable. Silence wasn't a thing that Bane liked, and this kid seemed to enjoy it very much. The tention in the room, at least between Bane and Sylas, seemed to grow as the seconds ticked by.
Slowly, Bane made his way over to Sylas and stopped. Slowly he out stretched his hand and brought out a finger. Without hesitation, he leaned forward and in a tone that suggested excitment recited the words he loved to say. "Poke!" As the finger hit Sylas' arm, Bane wondered what the reaction would be.

Alida watched as Bane poked Sylas in the arm, and her eyes shone merrily. She hoped Sylas wouldn't take it the wrong way. Her hands came up to cover her mouth, which was curving into a smile.
Rime watched too, from the kitchen doorway, still waiting on a verdict for her dinner suggestion.
