I keep getting error codes when trying to add things like the single horn and psionica to my wishlist though. I have contacts on my list, but I snagged them from other people's wishlists.

It was working until the Admins found out people were doing it. sweatdrop

VO asks people not to add them in his journal, however it's not bannable apparently? So until that changes, I see no problem having this thread here.

yeah, as I recall the last tie something like this happened the admins put out an pofficial warning saying 'don't go poking around at non-released stuff. It's considered hacking [or something like that] and you'll be banned'

A lot of that looks like halloween release stuff biggrin
although, those that say "first released on gaia" in 2003... I don't remember seeing those..? >_> O is that just when they made them up?

I believe that's when they were created. As for poking around the coding, I found the psionica by mistake when looking for real items to add to my list that I couldn't find elsewhere (IE: Jack Grab Bags).

Lol, I feel so bad for the admins sweatdrop They can't do anything without someone fiddling with it or exploiting it to dig out secrets or hidden surprises. Like when fishing was released and people took apart the flash to find all of the fish and rod types, and now this. Haha...they have to keep finding new ways to keep things hidden...poor admins sweatdrop

Changing an URL is harding "hacking" in my opinion, expecially seeing as the end of said URL was merely numbers. Honestly.
Now the Admin have changed it to the random garble associated with thumbnail urls, but it's kinda too late.

Also, one of the Devs apparently had something(s?) unreleased on their wishlist.

Most of these items should not be expected for release, just so you guys know wink

Well I never did say it was hacking. I don't think anyone did : D;; I also don't think it's something terribly horrible, I just feel bad for the admins because users are constantly using new features to unearth things that weren't meant to be unearthed.

I know I would be unhappy if I created something to be released at a designated time as a surprise and someone fiddled with some URLs and found it way ahead of time, then told everybody. Kinda like how people dug out the Christmas story last year hours ahead of time and half of Gaia knew about it before they could even officially start it. I can't imagine how disheartened the admins were then.

I accidentally found the X-mas story last year, it was just there... ;^;

I found the whole ordeal funny. Admins tend to underestimate or assume about users. *shrugs* I think it's all a part of Gaia (in a really crooked way), it makes Gaia, Gaia. Finding things before hand... 8D;;;


I'm really amazed that the items have/had such easy numbers... Thanks for this!

Lol, I didn't know they called it hacking xd But yeah, I wouldn't consider it hacking either...just poking around where you shouldn't be. I guess you're right though, Nori, it's long been a Gaian tradition to uncover secrets that weren't meant to be found out before their release.

I don't quite remember if the unearthed Christmas story was by a glitch or if someone dug it up. All I can remember is people were posting the link going "Hey look!! biggrin DD" and then the admins were running around locking threads asking people not to spread it. It was a mess sweatdrop
