((Please note: Damon, Mog's compaion is owned by Kaisanti and is free to join at any point.))
Moghedien stalked the territory's boarder, moving with her usual grace. She had only encountered the alpha male and the young pup Feros from the pack so far though now she knew of all of them from her and Damon's roaming the pack lands. Her goal now was to mentally map out the packs territory, which she had near completed and was finishing by walking the boundaries.
She kept to the shadows as was normal for her, providing cover, she was a cautious animal awaiting the prime moment to strike, she never rushed into anything and calculated everything meticulously. More to the point, she was a small wolf and possessed little physical strength and so taking a more aggressive approach to everything would not bode well for her. Though Damon was always close to hand it was still an unnecessary risk.
Her icy blue eyes narrowed slightly, as she caught an unfamiliar scent on the wind, lifting her head she cast her eyes about her.

Liriel glided silently along the more heavily shadowed grounds of the forests, taking care to pick her way carefully around areas where gaps in the roof of trees overhead let rays of light shine through. She blended almost perfectly into the shadows with her dark raven coat. Onlookers would only see the ghostly purple glow of her raven trinket approaching, until she decided the finally make her appearance. She was unfamiliar with this area of the forest, so she took special care to blend in, even isolating her footsteps to keep her chains from jostling about unnecessarily.
Besides..she preferred to have the element of surprise on her side. There was nothing better than watching others scurry about in surprise and fear. There was something about the look of fear in another's eyes that fed her on a spiritual level..kept her moving, knowing that she had the power to instill fear and uncertainty into the weak of heart. She loved playing those mindgames..and she did so whenever she could.
As Liriel strode along, something caused her to hold back for a change. Her nose twitched as she lifted her head and sniffed at the air, the feathers of her mask seemingly trembling in anticipation. There was another wolf near..a female..and with her scent she caught the mark of a new pack territory border as well. This scent mark seemed..different..from the other packs she had sniffed out in the area. There was something heavy and imposing about the smell..something dark..and immediately she was intrigued by it. As far as she knew, she was the only twisted thing that wandered through this forest. Everything else seemed so..normal..family oriented..nice, she thought, a small shudder ran through her body at the word.
What a refreshing change of pace..
With a small, feral smirk spreading across her maw, she stalked towards the female she scented nearby, slinking low into the shadowed underbrush to get a closer look...

Scanning the open areas she wasn't surprised to find them empty, there were limited few with the bold stupidity to come striding into such a place as this. So she swung her icy blue eyes over the shadowed areas. She herself hidden within the midst of them, her eyes accustomed to the light was able to pick out the faint shapes they hide. Turning towards the direction in which the scent seemed to be the strongest she noted a faint purple glow.
Her attentions caught she focused on the glow and the surrounding area, slowly she was able to piece together the outline of the other wolf. She moved well, keeping to the shadows, a perfect little hunter but Moghedien was not your usual sort of prey. She stopped where she was, hidden deep within the shadows, though she knew her silver coat would be more visible that what seemed like black, on the other wolf. Her eyes held in a slightly narrowed position as she calculated the situation; she would wait for the other to act first.

Liriel slowed her movements and edged in a small circle around the silver-furred wolfess, her golden eyes cold and seeminly empty as she slinked slightly out of the shadows. She made certain that she was only illuminated enough for her eyes to reflect the available light, adding to her eerie appearance. Her eyes were locked onto the silver wolfess as her body eased boldly out of its hunting slinking posture.
"One who sleeps in spiderwebs..heh.." She put emphasis on her s's..nearly hissing like the snake in the grass she really was..but it was merely one of the accents she had taken a liking to for herself..one that seemed to suit her whenever she slinked about through the darkness.
She sniffed delicately at the air and took a few steps closer to the strong scent boundary she had sniffed out earlier, one paw coming to rest goadingly close to the edge of their territory, as if testing the strands of a very delicate web, sending vibrations of alarm to the spider that made its home in the center. She wanted to know more of this pack's strange scent..She wanted to know why this place seemed to draw her so.
"Come on out, little spider.." she said, a feral, fanged smirk spreading onto her maw, she could tell already that the female hiding in the shadows was a smaller one, and she hoped the remark had hit the right nerve to draw her out. "In whose territory have you spun your web..?"
((Somehow I have it in my mind that she talks like Akasha from the Queen of the Damned movie..seems to fit her nicely @_@))

She remained standing where she had stopped and kept her eyes locked upon the purple glow and the now visible golden eyes as they moved slowly closer to her, noting the way in which the she wolf slightly hesitated as she placed one paw onto the packs territory, so she knew upon what lands she tread, she was due some merit for acting in such a manner.
Her slightly narrowed eyes widened back to rest in a natural position as the other wolf spoke. The reaction was one of surprise though no one bar those with years of experience of dealing with her would know this, her reactions where very slight and guarded indeed. Oh, this one was clever indeed, she beckoned her out of hiding by goading her with that subtle comment. She smiled inwardly to herself, she wondered if this wolf was able to give her a challenge at her own game for once.
She remained where she was however, judging the distance still between them knowing her soft voice would just about carry across this distance, though her words would be faint and would caress the ear like early morning mist enveloping the land, 'You tread upon the lands known as the Reign of Terror, the pack lead by the one often referred to as the Goblin King.' She allowed her words to reach the other she wolf and then added, 'What brings you to such a place, wolf?' The term of address used was meant to stress the value she saw in the other, her own goading perhaps though she did see some value in the other, she would not give that away just yet.
She hoped she had judged the other correctly though, the small glint of teeth she had caught after the other had addressed her suggested a smile. So the other knew what she was doing with her words, though she did not hide it. The smile perhaps in anticipation of a rash response from herself, meaning she enjoyed agitating others. She hoped that the other wolf was not as easy to bate; one because she wanted someone who would match her and give her a good fight and two she was not one for physical fights, her petite size providing little use in such things. Though Damon was always close enough to call upon she would avoid it when she could. Her mind always working out the situation, planning and calculating.

Liriel's inner psychopath grinned with utter glee at the tone of the other wolfess's words, taking them as soft..without force..weak-..vulnerable. It emboldened her, where other wolves may be afraid of meddling with another pack-especially one that smelled like this..
Confidently, Liriel slid her paw away from the pack's border and boldly strode into full view in the area between the two wolves, her strides smooth and graceful as the light reflected off of the gloss of her coat. She knew the wolfess before her would be no match for her in a physical fight..she knew the other female knew her weakness, and she held no fear of being greeted with fangs and claws.
No, this battle would be a battle of the minds, if there was to be any quarrel at all.
"The Goblin King..he is the one who leaves this scent.." she sniffed again at the air and filled her lungs with scent, " so forbidding..strong..this scent is not like the others.. not so concerned with..family..all that nice rubbish that rots the brain.." Again, a shudder of distaste ran through her body at the mere thought of that mushy garbage many wolves filled their lives with.
"Is this neck of the woods the only place that goes unravaged by those sickening brain-rotting ideals? Surely if it is, I wandered this way for a reason.." she said, a malicious fang-filled grin spreading over her maw, "no normal pack could live through the night with me in it..."

Moghedien opened the range of her icy blue eyes and took in the female coming towards her, boldly emerging from the shadows and presenting herself. She was larger than herself, which didn't surprise her, it has been a long time since she'd come across another adult that was smaller than herself by an means and due to this she was not daunted by it any more. Her coat was coat was a glossy black and when the other wolf allowed the light to catch her it seemed to simmer purple, much like that of a raven. She also wore various curious looking adornments, which she scanned with great interest, wondering how she came across such things.
Once she had finished taking the others appearance in she admired the detailing of the feather mask before fixing her eyes solidly, unflinchingly to those golden eyes. She listened as the other spoke, perhaps she had wished for too much when she had hoped for a sparing partner, the wolf was unguarded in her emotions and her words seemed to come from another with a lust for violence and manipulation. Though she smiled inwardly to herself, wasn't she after that herself though? There was just different ways to go about it, but this other wolf, she took a moment to think.
Keeping her eyes to the others she questioned her, her voice like ice, holding no warmth, 'So, you have a desire to enter the pack, wolf? What makes you think you possess anything of worth and would give rise to the desire of the alpha to emit you?'

Liriel's mood seemed to swing, like a pendulum on a string, between the throes of plainfaced insanity and the cool calculating mind of a serial killer, a riddler..something in her eyes seemed to 'click' and change, at once pushing the thoughts of ripping a simpering mindrotted family apart. Her thoughts cooled, though her bold confidence did not diminish as she looked the other in the eyes. Her posture nearly betrayed her ranking..but she did not care to check her rank for anyone other than an alpha.
She gave a lingering smirk as she listened to the other speak, staying stock still in the light..taking a moment to seriously consider her words. What pack but this one would understand a wolf such as herself? Any other pack would think her crazy..but -she- knew..she was the one that was sane! She was too sane..her thoughts delving so much deeper, like tendrils seeking relentlessly for truth through the inky blackness that obscured all knowledge from those who did not know how to persue it.
"Your Goblin King would have to find that out for himself.."she paused, looking up to the sky in a thoughtful sort of daze. "What makes any wolf valuable to another when we are all inherently..worthless? All the same..with no set value mandated by anything at all..that is, until one figures in the self.." she then turned her head sharply to the new wolfess, an accusing look in her eyes. "How do you value yourself, web-wrapped one? Do you have a price tagged to your ear, or are you worth your pack because of what you see in yourself?"

Her eyes narrowed slightly, the only outward sign of her emotions and at that, very slight. How dare the other wolf address her so, such foolish behaviour to come into such territory as this and start demanding answers from one such as herself. She neither lowered herself, admitting the rank difference either and she held her head high enough to challenge a beta. Oh this wolf was sure of herself and there was intelligence in her eyes though it was marred with madness as well. This wolf was interesting indeed. Slowly Moghedien tempered her anger and began to admire the other.
She never took her eyes from the other and kept them in their narrowed state as not to draw attraction to their shifting. The only other thing that became new to her mannerism was the bitter bite now added to her icy voice as it whispered across the distance from her lips to the others ears, 'You'd do well to recognise the rank difference, wolf, and not to address me so. Though I am, thankfully, not as rash as other members of this pack, remember that in future.' There was no heat to her voice and it was spoken calmly though the threat was clear. 'I will humour you with an answer to your question though, I am valued within this pack because of what I see in myself, yes, because of the way I portray myself. Though others will price me as they see fit, to use for their own purposes, that is the way of things.'
She paused a moment, what she had said was true. She knew her strengths and more admirably; she knew her weaknesses and she knew how to play upon both. Thus she knew her own worth and where that could possibly fit into such places, though at the same time she knew others would rank her talents and failings differently and so their own values would be laid upon her. That was the way of things.
'You are right though, wolf; it is for the alpha to decide upon your worth and whether he feels a need to have part of his pack. Tell me though, why do you wish to be part of it?'

Liriel's expression turned to a full on smirk now as she noted the narrowing of the wolfess's eyes and the subtle bite to her warnings. How touchy over rank..yes, this was something she could use..She could tell that this one never outwardly displayed large shows of emotion..she made note that any small changes should be taken notice of.
Slowly, she made her way around the wolfess in a wide circle, not breaking eye contact as she spoke, a soft, knowing chuckle escaping her throat. "So up in arms over rank, aren't we, miss..? Is it that I threaten you? Are you so afraid of your rank slipping away that you must see others grovel at your paws to feel secure? Do you crave respect? Surely you have done great things to garner that for you.." she paused, her tail swaying casually behind her as if she cared not if the wolfess thought her an insect, or an equal.
"I bow for no one, miss.." she said, a proud smile spreading onto her maw as she slowly stepped a paw back and half dipped into a play-bow before her, cocking her head to the side charmingly. "Then I would be no different than the rubbish I pass by..day by day..who take no pride in themselves."
She slid from her bow into her previous, proud posture. "Surely your Goblin King values pride..and power..but I have this..feeling..that there is somehing..darker..going on here. Something that seems to draw me in..I want to know more.."

Moghedien could feel a growl forming deep within her throat, she did not care for this wolf's rudeness one bit, yet she never allowed the growl to develop to an audible sound and thus she let it die. A growl or an similar emotion from her was rare indeed and would only bring Damon to her and she did not desire that, not yet at least. She waited while the foolish girl made her display, her own posture never changing and her eyes never leaving those golden irises.
Her voice still held the bitter edge to it, she hoped the other would start to take note of it soon, 'There is pride and there is stupidity. Rank is placed upon wolves so we can distinguish between those of merit and those less so. Just because a wolf is of low ranking does not mean they don't possess any pride, to think that is to underestimate another and that is foolishness. Yet to not give due respect to those of higher ranking is foolishness also,' her last words were spoken with a little more force targeting them at the masked female. 'To much pride is a failing.'
Moghedien gave the advice to the other freely, though they were also a warning, she did not care to be spoken to so. To much pride was a vast failing, one she herself had struggled with, though had now mastered; one must admit there are always those better than one's self and admitting one's failings wasn't always a bad thing, it meant you knew where you needed to improve. But this was not just about rank, this was about showing due respect for treading upon another's territory, without these two forms of respect, chaos would reign.
She saw merit in the female though, as much as she hated to admit it and she also knew the alpha would see this as well. Though before taking the female to the alpha male she firstly wanted the name of the other and a bit more respect, or this lack of control would look badly upon her her own skills. She did not shift her weight about and kept her current position, again she addressed the female before her, 'Curiosity is a double edged blade but you seem to possess the strength to follow through with your curiosity.' She hoped the compliment would sink in enough so that she'd be willing to answer her demand, 'Tell me your name, wolf.'

Liriel let out a bitter laugh at the wolfess's biting words, her tail wagging in amusement as she assumed a more casual posture, her eyes wise and piercing as her mind dismantled and examined each little clue the other gave her to her real nature.
"You have a far better temper than I expected, miss..much better than mine, indeed.." she circled the female and gracefully eased down into a sitting position. She was at her most cheerful now..her voice light and not quite so jeering as it was other times. This was when she seemed her most sane..closest to normal as she ever was. Anyone who might have gotten to know her would know that these times came very rarely..unless she had a giddy spell after a particularly entertaining kill or bout of mindgames. Her mind drifted away from playing with this wolf's mind to somehow meeting the leader of her pack..her lust for knowledge and power seemed to draw her away from her usual tactics of getting what she wanted.
"My name is Liriel.." she said silkily, her head dipping in a slight, courteous nod. "And I believe that my usefulness will far outweigh my pride.." She allowed herself a half smirk as she sat there, her head held just slightly lower than the other female's. She knew she was skilled at weasling information out of less than cooperative wolves..She had already shown her skill at stealth and hunting..now she couldn't help but chuckle softly to herself..she would make an excellent spy.

Moghedien dipped her head ever so slightly and blinked slowly in acknowledgement as the other wolf gave her name and then mulled over Liriel's words and actions so far. The female seemed to take great pleasure in playing mind games and did not hide that fact. She also valued her own talents highly hence the 'usefulness will far outweigh my pride' comment. Perhaps her pride was something Moghedien could use to her advantage in the future and also her temper, which was a clue she gave away freely as she praised Mog on her patience.
Yes, she had enough to go on for now. She hoped the alpha would admire her for bringing another into the pack that would challenge her own abilities and she also hoped she was able to prove that her talents were of value. She knew two of the other lords were out meeting with the surrounding packs, trying to get tributes, the alpha had yet to place a task to her, perhaps bringing this other female to him would show her own initiative, her own form of tribute.
Focusing back on the female in front of her she addressed her, the bitterness leaving her voice though it was still icy cold, 'Follow me.' Turning gracefully Moghedien glided deeper into the pack lands, not waiting for a response from Liriel, she knew enough now that the other would follow without hesitation so she could full fill her own lusts of knowledge and power.
