The air on the plains hung as thick and heavy as the clouds above it. Just as somber was the male cheetah beneath it. His black coat was still moist from the passing showers, and his mood sour. He sulked as he crossed the grasses, not entirely due to the fortune of his weather, but more because of that concerning his love life. He'd not found a companion for the longest of times, and the void within him was growing.
Hatsya's lanky footfalls paused to survey what lay ahead of him, his eyes scanning, and only one seeing. His breath came in a heavy sigh, and his face reacquired its scowl as he resigned himself to another presumably lonely day.

Not feeling guilty about lying to her daughter when she said she would only be out hunting, Sinasina moved slowly over the grounds. As much as she loved her cubs, her little Nita especially, she needed some time to herself every now and again. As of late it seemed like the only thing she did was take care of the babies.
Feed them, clean them, keep them from ripping one another a part, everything was on her shoulders and hers alone. Never had she been prepped for being a mother. It was a lot harder than it looked.
Sighing softly, her time away not as pleasant as she hoped it would be, the jet black lady lifted her eyes from the ground, taking note of a cheetah not far from her. He didn’t to be in the best of moods either. Curious, she casually made her way over to him, disregarding safety as usual.
“Why so down, handsome?” she asked.

The lady's words caught Hatsya like a lasso, and his head pulled back to catch them. He turned his head to the left, naturally, and his eye was slower to look for the speaker. This leopardess had called to him? Normally he was the one to chase, using the fleet feet of his species to chase after females. But a devilish grin crossed his face, and he slowly turned to get a better look at her, sizing up the leopardess curiously.
He shuddered slightly, his dark coat still moist, but also excited. He cleared his throat gingerly and crooned out his answer, "I'm really quite tired of being alone." He sat, and curled his long tail around his feet, ready to hold a long conversation, in all hopes that it would lead to more.

The leopardess smiled at his reaction, keeping her frame relaxed as she moved towards him, no show of fear or even hesitation evident anywhere on her. Each step came confidently and loaded with her purpose, the sway of her body assisting that purpose in a very obvious way. As she drew closer to him, she let her eyes look over every inch of his frame.
Very nice.
“Really now?” she replied in a purposefully seductive voice, the creature always holding that kind of tone even with no intention to woo someone, “well I suppose that makes two of us, then. What’s your name?”

Oooh the change of fate that Hatsya met today. His head leaned forward towards her, his eyes half-lidded like a child sung to sleep by its mother's lullaby, but his smile matching the purpose of her gait. His shoulders rolled in a half shrug as he pretended to hesitate.
"Hatsya." It hung in the air for a moment like the mist around them before he deemed it appropriate to speak again, "And yours, fair lady?" It seemed today he would be Hatsya: The almost-reluctant-but-ever-willing gentleman. One of his personal favorites. Because after all, for this Cassa Nova, there was not much more than the facade and his goal. His head tilted and his tail thumped as he assumed a welcoming smile, and very eager to hear the answer.

Watching him, Sinasina found herself captivated by his movements, assessing their meaning inwardly while keeping her expression friendly and, for the most part, neutral. Cheetahs were rather unknown creatures for her- she hadn’t met one before him. She had to admit that she liked the male’s slender frame quite a bit. Were all cheetahs so handsome?
Or was she just lucky?
“Sinasina,” she replied evenly, observing him. The name was nice enough, but in all honesty she wasn’t one to really care about greetings. Meeting a male, getting it on, and moving on her way was the best way to go about business. Still, she wasn’t really sure she was interested in having relations at the moment, giving her previous encounters to date, so perhaps it was best to have a little idle chit-chat. If only for now. “So was being alone your only problem, skinny?”

Leopards too, were also mostly unknown to Hatsya, but in most instances, not quite as attractive as this one. He rolled his shoulders and tilted his head as he listened to her words and pondered just the answer. "I'd say its by far the... most pressing matter, Sinasina." He leaned forward and nodded with his answer, though of course, being the male he was, he always looked for more from a lady's company [just short of children, that is]. His crossed-tail flicked in something between excitement and anxiety before her.
The cheetah sat back and lifted a paw, taking it to his mouth for a quick lick before muttering just loud enough to be heard, "Sinasina... A lovely name for a lovely lady~"

Smiling, she nodded. “I see, well perhaps I can help you with that.” She was not playing a very subtle game, she had to admit, but it had been a long time since she had felt comfortable to let loose with anyone after what had happened with a brute of a lion quite some time ago.
“Thank you,” replied the female, keen ears picking up on the words easily enough. A smile spread over her face as she watched him, the female cocky about her appearance. “I already know how lovely I am, however.” She purred faintly, moving herself closer to him. Now she was close enough to circle him, eyes watching each movement in his body as she moved around. If he seemed nervous or tense, then maybe this one wasn’t one to be used.
But she had a feeling things were going to work out fine for the both of them. She placed herself directly in front of him, watching him clean. “Would you like some help with that?” She offered coyly.

Hatsya's flesh shuddered with desire as she circled. But he chided himself and relaxed, arching his back to stretch out his legs, playing it off with a yawn. At her offer he rolled his eyes and tilted his head, as though actually considering a no. But the more he pretended to think about it, the more he realized. A beautiful leopardess was quite the fine find. But as much as he enjoyed the forward advances of Sinasina, he was a hunter, and he loved the chase. So he grinned at her and shrugged. He wouldn't say no, but Hatsya wasn't about to throw himself at her feet. Or even sit there, really.
He curled his tail around himself, and leaned in to lick her behind the ear. "Actually, Sina, it seems you need more help than I do." That's right, make it look like she wanted it more than he did. Hatsya, you clever dog, you. Or cat. Clever cat.

Sinasina only purred. Really, she didn’t care where it came from, who took the advances, or how they reached the end result- just as long as she ended up with what she wanted in the end. By the looks of it, that end result was well within reach. The two of them were on the same page.
Or he was very good at leading her on.
“Oh, why thank you again,” she replied, letting her ear twitch as his tongue touched it, “though are you implying I’m so dirty that I can’t clean myself?” She smiled at him, coyly, before moving past him, her tail running close against his body as she walked on by. There didn’t seem to be much need for games now, but she was enjoying herself.

Hatsya chuckled and struggled to keep himself under control. Somehow, he managed. He turned his good eye to follow her and shrugged. "Well, Sinasina, there's always room for improvement. You could learn from watching a master." He waited for her to cross in front of him and placed one paw on her back, then the other, and leaned over to lick her muzzle in a way that messed her fur into a crooked smile from her mouth to her ear. But at least she couldn't see what a terrible job he was doing.
The cheetah shifted his weight and hopped over her, repeating his stroke on the other side, then trying not to snigger as he looked on. But that was too mean. He smoothed the fur with his paws, and paused to admire not only his handy work, but also the brilliant blue marking under her eye. Part of Hatsya wondered just what she saw in him.

Sinasina chuckled brightly, a little curious about what he was doing to her face. It felt like her fur was sticking up at odd angles. “What are you doing?” she asked, though not in a way that suggested she was upset about it. She imagined that he wasn’t just cleaning her fur. But she never go to see what he had done, as soon enough he was patting the fur back into place with his paws.
It felt funny, but she tried her best not to laugh.
“You’re staring,” she informed him with a coy smile, “I’ve heard some animals find it rude when you stare.” She wasn’t one of them; she rather enjoyed it when others looked at her. Made her feel important, in a way, or at the very least pretty. Leaning forward, she gave him a lick in return. Not for cleaning, of course.

Hatsya turned away sizing her up, looking at her with his good eye. "I'm not doing anything, Sina." He chuckled a little, but when she accused him of staring... Well. He pouted and didn't budge when he returned the lick. "I've got to stare at you twice as long, to make up for only having one eye. It's not rude at all. As a matter of fact, you're the rude one!" He huffed, indignant, and stood, taking a few steps away from her, hoping secretly she'd follow him.
The cheetah muttered under his breath, not really anything of matter or substance, but with a heavy sigh he concluded. "Women!" Hatsya counted the seconds, holding his breath with a bright smile and a devilish look about him as he waited to see what sort of reaction it would provoke from the pretty leopard. He threw a glance over his shoulder, and pursing his lips, he shouted again. "You owe me an apology, Sinasina!"

Watching the cheetah move off, Sinasina chuckled faintly to herself. She wasn't sure if she was really all that rude at all, but she was happy to play along if it meant a little bit of fun. Slowly, she started to move, following after the one-eyed creature.
"Don't get huffy," she hummed, "I'm sure I can come up with some way to make things up to you, don't you worry about that. Now stop making a fuss," she purred, catching up to him on her own time. She watched him as she passed, smiling.
Oh yes, she was great at making things up to others.

Hatsya rolled his shoulders mid-gate and looked back at her with his good eye. "Oh, you'll have to try pretty hard to make up for what you've done. Why, I've hardly been so offended before in my life!" He flicked his tail, stopping just short of her pretty face.
That was such a lie. Hatsya could forgive any woman quite easily, if she knew the way to his heart, and the black cheetah was pretty blunt about the ticket to penance. And from what he could tell, Sinasina had it pretty well figured out. He smiled to himself, thinking he was so clever, and he picked up the pace, knowing just where he'd lead the leopardess. The End
