So me and the Neuf were talking crafts in the Black Friday thread and I realized most of you could probably contribute to a forum about crafts of any kind.
I would love to hear any projects you might have going on whether it be decorating your home/apartment, a painting you're doing in art class (I know some of you know nothing but school...Cindy whee ), or even friendship bracelets.
This would also be a good place to give each other ideas. I know a lot of us just lack ideas as to what to do with old sheets or ties that are now to short. So discuss it up!

Then right now I'm writing in my free time a story, just for fun. It's a fantasy advanture about a chase going after a mad, complicated and powerfull character. It's in hebrew though. sweatdrop
So what you guys are doing?

Impressive! If I could write entire stories in another language, I would be so proud. But alas, I do not have the patients or interest to take the language courses they offer at my college (German, Spanish, French, and Arabic). Is Hebrew your first language?
In the other thread I was saying that I'm working on embroidering a Galaga pillow. It's so much fun I might do multiple 8 bit projects working up on difficulty. Maybe I'll do a blanket with Mario or a beanie with Duck Hunt. Also I would like to start making my own skirts/dresses/scrubs.

I'm not really crafty all that much in regards to clothing, that's right folks, there's something on this planet I do not know how to do.
However, I am plotting on building some furniture for myself.

"Conclusion : Yes, Christ was a great philosophical and religious leader, and as some maintain, the savior or messiah. But, it seems clear that he had few career options. As a carpenter he was incompetent. He would been unable to even to construct the simple crucifix upon which he ultimately met his martyrdom."

Actually, I almost took Art Studio for drawing, am decent at woodworking, and made my own chisel. blaugh I'll post pics sometime- I spent about a month working on that thing... But I like my wooden dolphin better.

Yes, of course it's my native language or it wasn't so fun. sweatdrop Wow, everyone here are so talanted. Embroidering, making furnitures and drawing in an expert way? That's golden hands.

I'm flizzuent in Snoop language. Maybe I should write a story in that.
Every time I tell people I want to learn Hebrew they're like,"WHY?! That's not useful at all" Not useful if you're American, maybe. It gets on my nerves that people think Hebrew is for Israelis and Rabbis only.
Phoenix I would have never guessed that you enjoyed woodworking. I think it's fun, but I can't do it worth a darn. And I'm just giving you a hard time...if I was half as goal oriented as you I'd be a physicist by now.

Well, I'm in Latin and that, as much as I hate to admit it, really is a dead language, so Hebrew is a lot more practical and awesome. Helps with vocab, though!
And King- no worries; thanks for the compliment, but I have no idea what I want to do with my life, either. Still trying to figure out where I want to go to college. xd
(Actually, I'm thinking South now since I hate the cold.)

My only real craft is cooking, but my bashert has mentioned that I might be needing to learn to sew. I've wanted to do that, but had no access to a sewing machine, so I'm hoping that might appear around salary bonus time as a belated birthday present. Here's hopin'. I believe I can make the thing pay for itself inside, oh, three to five years, if all I ever do is sew my own feminine supplies. Learn to sew anything else, like aprons or skirts or quilts, and I would totally WIN. I'll keep you posted.

It's rather useful, knowing to sew. Mending is much easier than going to all that effort of buying something new. I don't like the mall, I don't like spending money, and I don't like feeling wasteful. The good news is that almost any sewing machine you buy these days is super easy to use. If you want a machine that is good for a beginner, try Brother. They're inexpensive and good for moderate sewing use. However they probably aren't that good for denim and if you need something more substantial you need to be willing to shell out a few hundred dollars more. Kenmore is also a good solid brand. My mother has had hers for 20-30 years and my sister's Singer is 60 years old. Singer's aren't made of metal anymore though, so the newer ones probably aren't as rugged. Do keep me posted!

All kingpin needs now is a loom and she can make her own fabrics. Yeah, after that... we get her some cotton plant, and a sheep or two, and a yarn spindle and she'll make couture for us all.
