Merari spat down at the ground, cursing her terrible luck. Not only was she reanimated, but it seemed like her past life was haunting her. All the happiness, love, and kindness she had been denied...And she had been foolish enough to think that death would be a way out of it. For anyone else, that probably would have been the case, but lucky her, she got resurrected.

Mortimer wandered the forest, whistling the tune to The Voice as he wandered about. His wrappings flowed after him like a piece of him that refused to be attached. He didn't know why he was resurrected...nor did he really care. And the lady who did didn't seem to enjoy the fact she had brought him to life....

Merari heard the whistling before she saw the pony. "Who goes there?"

Mort whistled a few more notes before he answered her. "Mortimer at your service, ma lady." He said as he bowed, wrappings falling like they were whispers of hair.

Merari scowled. "If you're at my service, you will stop that accursed whistling. Someone might think you were...happy or something."

"Well, someone woke up on the wrong side of the grave today...."
He frowned. "What's wrong with being happy? I see no wrong in it especially when one's ressurection is unclear."

Merari glowered. "I know why I'm here. It is the universe's idea of a cruel joke. To make me walk again after a life so miserable and unhappy that all I would want would be the peace of death. And I don't even get that!" She turned around and laid down in the leaves, pouting like a child. "I see no reason to be happy."

"well...I'm here because a necromancer accidently raised me to life."
He shrugged and looked at her. "Has it never occured to you this might be a second chance for a life?"

Merari raised an eyebrow. "What good would that be for me? In the messy state I am in now, no one would find me attractive. Who wants a girl who's rotting under her wrappings." She sighed. "I always wanted to be a mother. I worked so hard at my sewing and cooking, housewife things, hoping one of the bachelors would take notice and make me his wife. Needless to say, the man courted me, and when it came time for him to choose, he chose one of my rivals. No one would touch me after that." Merari blinked and looked back up at Mortimer. "I'm sorry. I forgot you were standing there. Forgive and forget the random mumblings of a has been."

"Pish posh.....Every little lady dreams of that...well most have anyway that I"ve come across. Besides.... has it occured to you that there are a few out there that are rotting just as much as you?"
He poked her gently. "After all, I'm dead too."

Merari watched him carefully. "I suppose so...but wouldn't you rather court someone without the wraps?" She quickly added, "Not that you are trying to court me. You offered yourself up as an example, though."

"I did, I could, I won't."
He grinned. "What's the point of dating someone without wraps? They're so common."

Merari was still watching him carefully. He didn't seem to care that he was dead, disgusting, or dirty. "Yes...but they blend in better. And you wouldn't have to worry about their previous life."

"So..I should care whether I see the living and their past life rather then what they do now?"
He really didn't care that he was dead, didn't seem to realize he was rotting or dirty. To him, it came with the territory...
