Sparkling orange hooves struck the ground rhythmically as she wandered. Wandering, it was something she always did and never stopped, always moving and never staying in one place. It was her way of life. Lovebeam watched the trees as she passed them; sometimes a curious bird popped its head from the branches to get a good look at the sparkling mare. She smiled toward the bird and continued down the road she made.

The sun was setting though it was only early afternoon, but winter was quickly approaching the air was crisp and a light mist came from her nostrils as she breathed. No snow lay on the ground as of yet which was quite strange and Lovebeam puzzled over the phenomenon as she continued to walk. Though it still was a beautiful day she thought bright intelligent blue eyes glancing toward the twilight sky.

The orange cloud mare stopped... listened... Hoof beats not her own...

Begining her trek again she moved this time toward the sound of another’s hoof beats. A meeting would be lovely on her lonely wandering.

Another forest. His cloven hooves beat in the already hard ground and his brush-tipped tail was quick to erase the tracks as he passed. This wasn't something he was looking forward to when he set out on his journey. Then again, this forest wasn't the same as that of his homeland, it was different.

There were several unfamiliar trees, and the setting sun shone through their leaves brilliantly, giving Taigi a feeling of walking among the orange clouds. The stallion sighed contently, lids sliding shut at the peaceful setting. It wasn't home, but the musky forest smell reminded him of his origin.

But there was something approaching. His lids blinked open, revealing bright, searching green eyes that made quick to scan the area. And sure enough, in the distance, he could make out a white mare, her pelt stained with naught but cloudy orange markings not unlike the clouds adorning the sky this very moment. He smiled at her, she had the aura of wisdom that comes only with age, therefore she must've been older, even though Taigi was taller by several hands.

"Hello, miss."

"Hello Sir" she responded politely in her chime like voice. Lovebeam looked at the black unicorn with a white tipped tail and emerald green eyes; He was taller and much younger than she though he seemed wiser than his years in the way he carried himself.

She smiled mysteriously "Enjoying your walk this fine day?" she inquired tossing her elegant mane from her face. He seemed to be wandering much like she, she felt it. Though what he actually sought in the forested land she couldn’t say no was it her place to ask.

“Mind if I join you?” She asked “I’m known as Lovebeam, could I inquire as to yours sir?”

The formal manner in which she acknowledged him felt strange. Most older Soquili would treat him as he was: younger. But she treated him in a way that she would treat a stallion or mare that was indeed equal, or at least relatively near in age to her.

"I am called Taigi, it is a pleasure to meet you, miss Lovebeam." He dipped his head in greeting, his wavy bangs falling into his face. "And no, I mind not that you join me. But why wouldn't you rather question me about my goings-about and the reasons behind them first?"

He brought his head back high, his proud horn greeting the sun that was taking its leave on the horizon. He swerved his head to the side to free his eyes from his mane, the two earrings that he wore in his left ear clinking softly.

"A pleasure as well Taigi." the mare responded before smiling at the stallion’s question "I would be quite interested to here about your journey's and the reason behind them." she paused "I didn't ask right away because some find the subject rather irritant and other's may not want others digging into their pasts by asking." she explained

The stallion was indeed young, but young as he was he showed know signs of not deserving her respect. She treated all equally unless they gave her a reason to treat them otherwise.

"Shall we walk then? And speak of each other’s wanderings?" she smiled mysteriously

This mare was indeed strange. To Taigi, at least, for he had met none else that were both his elders and left his reasons as just that. His. Blinking at the mare, he gave her a smile founded from gratitude to her respect.

Said smile widened as she asked a walk of him. "Of course," was his reply, his eyes reflecting the mystery of the mare's smile.

He walked several steps then stopped, swiveling his head to look at her still shape in an inviting gesture. "Shall we?"

Lovebeam smiled in return, it seemed to her that this stallion was often thought of as young and foolish or something to that effect. Lovebeam saw something else in Taigi she saw his wisdom that spanned years ahead of him. Realizing he was wiser than most the elders mustn’t like being told they where wrong by the young showing how foolish the elder truly where.

The white mare stepped forward striding alongside the black unicorn upon his invitation. They began to walk Lovebeam gazed forward for a few moments before retuning her gaze toward her wandering companion.

"Would you care to tell the first tale Taigi?" she offered kindly. If he was uncomfortable she would tell her own tales. It had been some time since anyone listened to her stories.

Taigi couldn't possibly suppress a joyous laugh when the mare asked a tale of him. Of course he'd tell her a story. After all, it was one of his foalhood dreams; telling stories like those of the travelers that passed through his homeland.

He mused for a moment, thinking a story that would be most intriguing. He hadn't traveled much too far as of yet, but he did encounter some strange and interesting others that the mare might like to hear of. Tai could see a pure, sincere interest in the mare's eyes and this gave him further confidence.

"Well then," he flashed her another smile before continuing, starting from the beginning, "when I was a foal, which wasn't that long ago, mind you." But it did seem like a long time had passed since his youthful explorations within the proximity of the forest that was home. "It had to be my first expedition, when I snuck away from father that night. It was very dark, the moon hiding behind a blanket of clouds." Every word slashed another coat of paint upon the painting he attempted to show her: the scenery of his adventure. "I stole away towards the rim of the forest, where the thin thickets met a vast sea of land, bare with but grass to clothe it.." At this point he paused, contemplating the mare's expression.
