The noble dragon lounged lazily on a precarious cliff, tattered wings sprawled on the sun-bathed rocks. Her eyes half-lidded with pleasure, her nostrils flared in a gentle contented sigh. Her spaded tail lashed to and fro, tracing a figure eight upon the slate-grey mountainside. Ah, paradise.
Her euphoria was only heightened by her recent feast. He had been a fine example of cervine perfection, a kingly stag who had fought valiantly and with great vigor, though doomed to nourish her and fuel her next assault on his own species.
Her belly full, she listened to nature's song- the mournful cry of a jay, the wind's shrill and piercing wail, the incessant buzzing of the bees... and something else. Something... strange.
Adelinda opened one eye lazily, one brow quirked in quizzical fascination. What was that noise?

The stallion was traversing through the expansive plains, approaching a vast cliffside. It looked perilous and regal at the same time, even from a distance. Of course, Taigi couldn't reject it's tempting call. Never mind the fact that he'd never before crossed such an obstacle.
What he couldn't see, however, was the coral-pink dragon-like Kalona resting on said cliff. And so he continued on, oblivious to the dangers of doing so as always, his cloven hooves treading the grasses that reached his ankles.
The day, however, couldn't have been better. The sun warmed his back, beckoning him onward, and the light breeze guided him along on his never-ending journey. The plains seemed to radiate with the sun's glitter, the grasses swaying to and fro mellowly.
It didn't seem like that long ago that he'd taken his last glance at the forest that was his home for the duration of his foalhood. And it was wonderful, because everything was new, exciting, and anything could be dangerous. Taigi kept his head clear, so as to let it lead him wherever it willed. Apparently, there was something special waiting for him around the rocky protrusion from the earth.

As the ebony stallion rounded the corner, a small smirk of satisfaction briefly twisted the mare's contented smile. Her volatile gaze flickered briefly to his cloven hooves. Ah.
She rose with almost feline grace, toned muscles shifting beneath her scaled hide with effortless elegance. Sunlight danced across her iridescent scales, teasing the golden hue of her shimmering necklace into a dazzling display of resplendent brilliance.
Her body was a weapon, and she kept all her weapons well-honed.
She studied the sable unicorn with scrupulous intensity, evaluating his movements and cataloging his presence in those endless files stored within the inner reaches of her mind. Despite his spiraling horn, This young stud was of no threat to the seasoned assassin- and she knew it.
With infinite patience, she awaited his dawning recognition of her presence.

A glimmer in the cliffs caught the corner of the Unicorn's eye, and he instinctively swiveled his head in the direction. Squinting his eyes against the sun, he could easily distinguish the golden sparkle that often took to necklaces and trinkets of the two-leggers. Of course, many Soquili also bore such accessories.
Now his foalish curiosity really hit him. There was no doubting the significance of the journey now, 'something special', he mused.
Easily accelerating, he set his mind on that lone twinkle, wishing it to stay as he would often the stars in the midnight sky. He didn't let anything distract him; Neither the rhythm of his hooves kicking up dirt and patches of grass nor the wind's song would sway his decision. He would find out what was up in the cliffs, no matter what it took.
His pace only slowed when he finally approached the first rubble of the ascending slates of rock. He could do nothing at the moment spare for gaze into the majestic height of the slope.
