While a cub, Kalama was raised by two loving parents. She knew very little about lions, leopards, cheetahs, and didn't ask about them too much when her parents spoke of them. When she was told about lions, she figured they and cheetahs and leopards were all nice and there was no evil in the world. When Kalama became a juvenile, she was made fun of and got in fights with multiple cheetahs and lions, which made the little leopardess fear lions and cheetahs, thinking they were all bad. After a few attacks, she decided to only make friends with leopards and avoid lions and cheetahs. She stayed extremely close to her family. She figured the lions in her family were simply an exception.

Once she was an adolescent, she figured she was big enough that the taunting and attacks would end, but they didn't. At a very young age, she thought she fell in love with a male who left her with cubs to take care of. She vowed to make sure that they wouldn't be picked on by cheetahs and lions like she was when she was younger. While Kalama was pregnant with her cubs, she was attacked by a vicious (cheetah/lion). This only made her want to find better protecting for her cubs who would soon be arriving.

While out one day, she heard about a female leopard who had also been attacked and left for dead by a lion. This only confirmed Kalama's decision to create a pride. This pride would ensure the protection of her family, herself, and every leopard or leopard hybrid out there. Kalama had plans that her pride would take in lost leopards, leopards that had no where else to go, and leopards that were attacked. Not only would they take in hurt leopards, but they would take in healthy leopards. They would become one huge family and look out for one another.

Leadership

The pride is a monarchy led by the queen. The king is there to help give the queen advice and when there isn't a queen the king takes over. Females in the pride are always put at a higher rank than the male, but the males are treated very well, they are a huge family after all. Leopard hybrids are slightly lower than male leopards, but also treated wonderfully. If the queen ever decides to allow a lion or a cheetah into the pride, they will be the lower than the hybrids, but also treated well. Royalty is higher than the working class which is higher than the citizen class.

If the queen had no children, then everyone in the pride will gather together to decide on who the next queen will be. If she did have cubs, but was killed/stepped down before the cubs were old enough to rule, the pride will gather and vote on the next queen until the current heiress becomes old enough to rule.

Beliefs
Every creature is treated well and looked after, like one big family. If the queen hears about a creature in the pride that is causing trouble or harming others, she will give a warning and if nothing changes, she will shun the creature. If the creature is very young, she will allow the cub to stay until they reach adol then they are shunned from the pride, unless they change their ways by the time they become adol stage. The queen's word is law.

Attacking another in the pride is absolutely unacceptable in the pride. The only way a pride member can kill/attack something is if out of self defense and/or hunting for the pride.

There is not one set religion/god to worship, so creatures may choose to worship or not worship whichever god they please.

The pride thinks very highly of the sea. It provides them with food, protection, and water.

They do believe that they must use or try to use every part of their kill. The bones are usually used for rank markers. Every part of the kill that the leopards cannot find a use for, they bury it.

Rank Markers
The bones from the pride's kills are used as rank markers. The queen usually has a skull and ribs along her back while the rest of the pride has bone necklaces, wrist bands, or tail bands. The more bones, the higher up a creature is. The skull on the queen is usually from a gazelle or another creature with horns. The creatures of the pride may decide where they want to wear their bones. Some may even decide to wear some as ear rings. Also shells can be used if creatures don't wish to use bones. Same rules apply, the more the higher the rank. If the queen wishes to not use a skull/rib bones as a marker, she may use various shells wherever she wishes to put them.

1 Bone= Civilians, 2 Bones= Working, 3 Bones/Skulls/Rib Bones= Royalty

Now if a creature arrives into the pride with bones already on him/her they may speak to the queen about why they have them and she may decide to use shells to tell the rank of that member of the pride. Skulls with horns are for the queen only, though.

Requirements
Must be leopard/leopard hybrid. Familiars are allowed, but must wear their bone necklaces all the time so they are not mistaken as kill.

Promotion
All promotions are done by the queen and/or the leader of that group of working class, but all promotions must be spoken about with the queen. The queen must agree on the promotions.

Usually a big festival is thrown for the leopard being promoted. The pride gathers, but a few selected warriors are still on guard, but may join the festivities every now and then or the queen may assign leopards to shifts during that day. The leopard being promoted is given an extra bone and/or seashell by the queen or the leader of the working class.

Life Mating
All life mating will have a ceremony for the couple that have decided to become mates, something like a marriage. The two are life mated by the water. Seaweed is tied around the ankle of the two becoming life mates to mark that they are taken. Usually the queen or someone close to the two performs the ceremony, but the queen must always be present to approve the mating, which she always will.

If a leopard falls in love with a cheetah or a lion, they must ask permission from the queen first and the queen must get to know the lion/cheetah before she ever allows them in the pride. She will be very tough on the lion/cheetah, but if they meet her standards the two may become mates and the lion/cheetah will be allowed in the pride, but will be watched carefully by the queen and her warriors. Usually after a long time, the queen and the warriors wont watch the lion/cheetah as closely or stop watching them altogether. At that point, the lion/cheetah can join the working forces.

Birth
A celebration is also given for birth. The healers are always around in case the mother needs help and once the baby is born, they are cleaned with the water that surrounds the pride. The queen usually will appear when the mother is ready for the queen to see her cubs. If the mother wishes for a healer not to be around, then a healer won't be there to help her. Wherever the mother wants the healer to be, the healer will stay until the cubs are born.

Death
Death within the pride is usually a tragic time. The body is either buried or put into the water, whichever the family and/or the leopard wishes. Usually morning will take place for a while, since the whole pride is like a huge family. Those really close to the one that passed away will be given time off from their duties, until they feel better and are ready to work again.

Royalty

Queen- The queen is the ultimate ruler. She is the mother of the pride and will treat it as if it were a cub and protect it at all costs.

King- The queen's mate. He is there to keep the queen company, happy, and to give her advice if needed, though she will most likely go to the scholar before her mate.

Heiress- The first born daughter of the queen, she will become the next queen and take over for her mother when her mother passes away or steps down.

Heir- The possible future king. Sometimes he will be decided for the Princess when she is born or the queen will let the princess decide who she wants to be with.

Princess- The female cubs of the queen that weren't born first, they are next in line if something should happen to the heiress.

Prince- The cubs of the queen and her mate that are male.

Scholar(s)- The go-to guy or girl for the queen. This leopard will give the queen advice and help her with the pride when she asks for it. Also, this leopard helps keep everything under control with the pride. He/She is treated as royalty. there could be multiple scholars if the queen feels like having a group of scholars around.

Working

Hunters- They provide the food for the pride. There will be one ruler huntress. She may have a right hand man/woman that will help her with her duties. The main hunter decides who will replace her, but if she passes away before she can decide the hunters will gather, along with the queen, to decide who the next lead huntress will be.

Fishers- Since the pride's land is surrounded by water on three sides, the pride will have specific leopards that will go out and hunt for fish and anything that is edible that lives near or in the water.

Warriors- They protect the pride when in battle or if a creature should try to attack the pride. There will be one ruling female warrior. She will have a right hand man or woman that will help her with her duties. The lead warrior will decide who will replace her, but if she passes away before she can decide the warriors will gather, along with the queen, to decide who the next lead warrior will be. Also, there will be one specific warrior assigned to the queen and one for the heiress. That warrior will protect the queen and heiress. This warrior will be hand selected by the queen herself.

Healers- They tend to all the medical needs of the pride. They are extremely wise and know all about herbs and potions used to heal.

Teachers- They teach cubs/juves/adols/adults how to become warriors or hunters. Usually scholars are taught by the king and the queen or other scholars.

Nannies- The motherly figures in the pride. They can either be male or female.

Civilians

Elderly- They are treated greatly and are the go-to guys and girls when advice/wisdom is needed.

Adolescent/Adults- They are allowed to enter the working force if needed/if they want to. On some rare occasions the queen may decide for someone to become a scholar.

Cubs/Juves- The youngest in the pride. The nannies watch after these cubs when their parents are too busy. They are not old enough to go into the working force, but may be taught how to become part of the working force by a teacher.
