Okay, the word's finally come down from above. While we're trying toturn what's left of the dead chicken that is the Oronar RP into a fried chicken dinner, we're going to start discussing the next rp, for now between us mods.
Once we have some ideas of our own, we'll move the thread to the Suggestion Forum, and include the rest of the members.
So... any ideas?

Here are a few I had.....
~~~~ Number One ~~~~
Okay, so we have a lone archeologist out doing research on a barren rock. His work is leading him nowhere, and he has almost no funding. Then, out of the blue, he stumbles across the ancient remains of a Rakata warehouse, and in there finds the only existing plans to the Star Forge, though he only assumes this device to be some kind of resource gatherer, and not the giant factory we all know.
So, he takes his findings and goes public with them. Noone's willing to give him any support, including the modern-day Sith. The only offer he has is some third-rate business practioner with no history. The archaeologist is tired of fooling with it, so he sells the designs to said businessman... unaware that he's put them in the hands of a potential Sith Lord.
From there, it's basically KoToR all over again. Sith Lord builds new Star Forge, then starts conquering the galaxy Old Skool style. Jedi and the Galactic Alliance have to find some way to bring his forces down, and we basically gimmik off of KoToR.
~~~~~~~~~ Number Two ~~~~~~~~~
This RP is based off the Infinities Universe, this time telling the story of "What Would've Happened If Vader and Luke Joined up to Kill the Emperor."
Basic story is, Luke takes Vader up on his offer, and they both strike down the Emperor. Together, they then command the Imperial Fleet, and crush the rebel forces there, before beginning a hunt to track down all the surving rebels.
Meanwhile, various Imperials who were loyal to Palpatine splinter off away from the Empire, forming their own little fiefdoms (among them, various persona such as Admiral Teradoc, Sate Pestage, Reborn Emperor, Isaard, etc.) in rebellion against the New New Order. Oh, and we also have Mara Jade, and this time she's actually right about how the Emperor died.
Yes, it would take Canon characters. But, we'd also choose them a lot more carefully. Out of ten applicants for Darth Vader, we'd only choose the best one.
What we do: RP what could've happened, if Luke became Vader's apprentice, and went on to conquer the galaxy.
~~~~~~ Number Three ~~~~~~
Galactic Civil War.
The basic idea, is a side-story of various battles and such that went on around the time of the movies, but weren't actually part of them (or necesarily canon).
For instance, take Planet A, which decides to rebel against the local Moff. The Empire cracks down hard, and sends a Star Destroyer to pacify the planet and make a permanant garrison on the planet. Meanwhile, the rebels hear about what's going on, and do their best to free the planet from the Imperial yoke.
The idea was based off another RP I was in once, which K-Blade I think remembers. Though, I'm thinking instead of it being on one planet, we'd have several planets/threads. The RP itself would be divided into three factions: Rebels, Imperials, and everyone else (Hutts, local governments, spacers, etc.).
When we RP Star Wars in an "open group setting" like a guild's main RP, we need to have an equally open and giving storyline, one that doesn't run on four peoples' plotlines, and one everyone can partake in. For this reason, your first idea is the strongest.
Unfortunately, as much as I loved KotOR, I don't want to play the same storyline. We could tweak it. The back plot could be a scientist discovered something super special awesome and powerful and he sells it off to a potential Sith Lord. This is Kevin J. Anderson style, in which there's a superweapon involved. Believe me, I have no problem with superweapons. Star Wars would be nothing without superweapons blowing s**t up. They usually make for the most solid plots, anyway.
This idea, good versus evil, is a familiar, clean slate we can all agree on. It pits the powerful Sith versus the well-trained and well-adjusted Jedi Order, using the Republic, or Alliance, or wtf it's called now as a grand backdrop.
No Imperials-- they'd have to be a militant, non-Force using Sith splinter group.
Number Three would be fine if we could get enough people to roll with it, but it's a smaller-scale RP, more character-driven than anything else. It leaves little room for the open-style most of us here want when we dally around with a new scifi character. The reason single-planet RPs fail is simply because they're stuff novels are made of, not role-plays.
I don't like alternate realities, which is why I'm skimming over Two.
The fact is, some people join an RP to take part in a pulse-pounding plot, while others join simply to bask in a science-fiction universe. It's awfully difficult to balance the two, and without both, your RPing community is going to be tiny.
Ominous Bloodlust is usually the one we could rely on to pick out an RP the general public likes, so I'd like to hear his thoughts to bounce off of.
I’m not one who really likes to play video games so I’ve never played KotoR, I’ve read about it in wookiee and in the comics of the same name. I’m more of the books and dice gamer. However, I’m open to the idea, I just wouldn’t be very much of help for the over all story line.
Second idea, not bad but again, being a tabletop gamer, I’m used to the GM, or mod and the case may be, playing the named NPC’s. I’m not really in favor of a PC playing an NPC.
Third idea, yes I know of the other rp the EK is talking about, instead of a single planet just expand it to a system so we could have a few planets to chose from plus maybe an asteroid field and other things that consist with in a system.
Of the three ideas I had, I think the third would work the best... but that's me.
First: A good game and all, but I don't like the idea of this. The Star Forge was destroyed, let it stay that way. Honestly, I think it wouldn't be a good idea to repeat KoToR.
Second: This one if just well, incredibly overdone. I've seen this type of RP to much, I just plain out don't like this idea.
Third: It would be good to post this one in the Side-RP forum, it's just too small for my taste. Basing the entire guild on one planet or just one would not be a wise decision. One of the reasons I love Star Wars is the vastness of the universe, I can't see this idea succesful in the guild.
Overall: The first would likely succeed out of all of these ideas. But, I think we should brain storm a little more. I'm going to be brainstorming and such for a good, original RP idea.
ElladanKenet Though, I'm thinking instead of it being on one planet, we'd have several planets/threads. Where do you guys keep seeing one thread/planet? I said that I would expand it to include several other planets. Besides, to be honest, how often do we actually make use of the other threads?
Well, here is another idea...
At [insert time] on the day of [insert date], all comminucations with the Planet Raxus Prime went dark. Any attempts to contact the planet by any means was met by faliure. The Republic (Or whatever it's name will be) sent a team to investigate, the team was lost in the air space surronding the planet. In the following months several surronding systems on the Outer Rim went dark aswell. After most of the Outer Rim was taken the threat revealed itself to the Core Worlds. A fleet, whose numbers block out the sun, emerged from the rift. Ships that were damaged and riddled with wounds from heavy guns, but still moved. The first ships in released drop pods that crashed into the surface of Courscant, these pods released a mixture of droids. Droids that were broken and were powered by a mysterious force (hint), these droids were seemingly endless in numbers. When the Jedi and Republic defense fought off most of the droids, a massive ship of unknown design came out of hyperspace over the planet. The ship's man guns tore through the city's best defenses and left the world in ruins. Only a few ships barely managed to flee the destruction.
An idea I used for a thread once. xD I don't like it myself though. Espically since it dwells off to many ifs. The entirety of that enemy force came from Raxus Prime. I was thinking that maybe the ship was a rebuilt version of the Harvester. xD Like I said, I don't like it.
I can see some merits to it, but there are too many ifs, and it's pretty vague, as you pointed out.
While we're at it, should we go ahead and move this to the suggestion thread?
Well, the old RP has been removed by mod consesus and lack of activity.
Now, we need a roleplay to replace it and soon, and if people are too lazy to voice their opinions, then us mods will make one (which you may or may not like, since we don't know your opinions).
I have an idea that comes from the KotOR series concerning a part of the storyline that doesn't seem to be resolved. If you play the light side, Revan leaves to find the true cause behind the Mandalorian War. And in the second KotOR, the main character, if you play the light side, is asked to go and find Revan. Now, I haven't read any books concerning Revan, so I don't know if this was ever resolved. So perhaps the RP could involve this portion of SW history.
Some more RP Ideas...
Idea #4 ~~~~~~~
Galactic Civil War-era. Basically, the premise of the RP is everyone roleplaying what went on between Episodes 4 and 6, all the various battles and stuff.
The catch? No canon characters. All of our characters are original, and can only make references to canon characters.
For example, you have Imperial Admiral John, who's under orders by Darth Vader to hunt down rebels in the Outer Rims. Then you have Commander Jack, opposite him, who's on a secret mission for Mon Mothma to help look for a new rebel base. Etc.
And it wouldn't be limited to Imps and Rebels only. You'd also have various Dark Side Adepts under Palpatine, and for those of you who want to be a lightsider, a few Jedi-in-exile, or untrained force users.
As for a plot, that's yet to be worked out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Idea #5 ~~~~~~~~~~~~
In celebration of the upcoming Old Republic game, we do an RP that's roughly based on it.
The premise: insert the Sith King, who's survived from the Sith Wars of Exar Kun, biding his time in the Outer Regions forming his True Sith Empire (the same one that Kreia alludes to in KoToR2). He recruits various other dark siders, builds some armies and ships, and sets out to conquer the galaxy and finish the work that the other Sith Lords failed.
Against him, you have the Republic, finally recovered from the First Jedi Purge, the Jedi Civil War, and the Mandalorian War, led by the reformed Jedi Order. It's their job to stave off the invasion, and depending on their skill and posts, either stop it, or die trying.
As for material, we'd just use ships and weps and stuff found in the KoToR era. Kolto, sith war droids, etc.
Any opinions on those two?

King Robert Silvermyst I have an idea that comes from the KotOR series concerning a part of the storyline that doesn't seem to be resolved. Now, I haven't read any books concerning Revan, so I don't know if this was ever resolved. So perhaps the RP could involve this portion of SW history. There has been no book or other work on that, but supposedly, that part of the story is revealed in The Old Republic, or KoToR3, should the latter ever come out.

The Old Republic idea seems pretty solid, the game itself is not released, but in an MMO once you have the jist of the plot you can just play it out from there. Quite similar to an RP, but with developer limitations within it.
I dont think the Sith King should be a PC though.
