Her silver eyes glanced around her taking in the surrondings. It was a small forest clearing with a little stream flowing through it, the edges already frozen into ice. The ulaya herself was perched on a big boulder next to the stream and shivering slightly. Alyssa had just only escaped a few minutes before. Not that she didn't love the wonderfully warm house, but all the preperations and merrymaking that the whole family was putting up in there was driving her crazy. Seriously, what was the point of Thanksgiving? For all she knew, there was nothing in particular that she should be really thankful about. Just another holiday to get kids out of school...it should be renamed "Needless Turkey Murder Day" or something like that. She felt rather sorry for all the turkeys that were slaughtered and eaten on this very day, but after all, turkeys tasted good and it wasn't like she was a vegetarian.
Alyssa pawed at the ground grumpily. For once, she wished for some company to drive all the thoughts of returning back to that warm house and the coldness out of her head. Even her happy-go-lucky sister Mercedes would be okay company, but she knew for a fact that she was still at the house busy with preparations. She flattened herself onto the cold rock, trying to get herself into a warmer position, hoping that something interesting would soon come along.
