Nazih'Matata grumbled quietly to himself as he slowly started to come out of his sleep, his eye lids however were too stubborn to open at the moment. He could feel a small breeze go over him. His small tail flopped on the ground and his ear twitched a few times.
"Wake up." He told himself. His teal eyes were slowly revealed after those words of encouragement from himself. He shifted so he was sitting up then sighed slightly. He remembered h aving a nightmare, one about his old family getting killed right infront of him once more. He looked around still slightly bothered by his dream from the night before. He slowly shifted so he was sitting then he looked around. Where was his adoptive mother?
"Rana?" He asked his voice a little groggy but still understandable. He slowly started to stand up. He looked around a little confused, he knew she had to be around some where. A small wave of panic washed over him, he hoped she was still around.

Of course Rana was still around. If the caramel colored lioness had known her little ward was so concerned about her whereabouts, she would have called out to him immediately to let him know that she was, indeed, still there. However, Rana was no seer. She couldn't possibly know that he was anxious to see her.
She stood at the edge of the shore, with her front paws dipped into the gentle, swirling waves of the water, and inhaled sharply. Nothing in her life had ever smelled as wonderful, or as strange as the ocean. When little Nazih called out to her, Rana smiled. She'd never forget the day she'd found the little fuzzball, curled up beside her. He'd been so helpless and alone, but determinedly fierce. It pleased her greatly to watch him grow. It wouldn't be long before the ashen colored youth transformed into a strong and healthy lion.
"I'm here," she called out to him softly, once she recognized the voice that called her name to be his. "By the water."

Nazih stumbled slightly on his feet, even though he was still standing in one place. He was still tired but he didn't want to return to sleep and his nightmare. His ears were flattened against his skull, his mind flooded with thoughts that he didn't want to have.
As soon as he heard his 'mothers' voice his ears perked up and right away he wandered into the sun and over to her side. He sat by her tail pawing at it gently trying to take his mind off of his dream before speaking. "Morning mom." He grinned softly he love the feeling and the idea of some one there to take care of him he loved it so much he felt loved he loved the feeling of some one there to take care of him.
He moved a little closer to her and leaned into her side. Still trying to shake off the dream that he had, he wouldn't say anything to her unless she asked him what was the matter, he didn't like her worrying about him. He closed his eyes for a moment and yawned very slightly. "Whatcha doing mom?" He asked as he looked up at her for a moment then out at the sea, he loved the way the sea looked, he was glad that he went with them. The sea was nice. Nicer than he thought he wasn't that sure what it was going to be like, he was still young yet he felt like he had been everywhere he could have been in his life, it didn't bother him one bit though... Traveling was nice.

In the same way that Nazih loved that there was somebody in their immense world that wanted to look after him, Rana was positively ecstatic that there was somebody actually willing to let her. When she'd lost her own babies, all that time ago, she'd felt robbed and cheated, but she'd also been terrified by the idea that it was for the best. She'd spent so much time worrying over the possibility that she wasn't a good mother; that she was destined to be forever childless, and that it would be better that way. Nazih's easy acceptance of her love had helped her realize the falsity of her insecurity. Ever day that she spent with him, every day that she watched him grow, caused her to feel better about herself.
A pretty smile found it's way on her face as he cuddled into her side. He was such a doll. She was glad that she'd found him. Pleased that they'd adopted each other.
"I was just thinking," Rana answered him honestly, "about how beautiful this place is. Are you happy we came?"

Nazih looked at his mother. Glad that she didn't say anything about the slight panic was that just in his voice, very glad. He flicked his tail around a bit looking at it before looking at his mother again. He leaned into her some as he looked out at the water. He was still chasing off bad thoughts, some trying to lock them back up into that box that he normally kept them, away from the other thoughts. Were they couldn't bother him.
With her question he looked back out at the water. It was nice, very nice. He loved waking up to the soft sounds. However drinking this water was not as nice as it looked. Very saltly not good at all. It even gave him a stomach ache. He wasn't going to to that again, no not at all. But besides that he did love this place.
"I agree it is very pretty. Like mommy." He grinned at her before looking forward. Still cubbish and innocent comments like that came out of his young mouth all of the time. He was such a sweet cub at times. He pawed at the sand in front of him before smiling. "I like it a lot. But then something came to his mind, he was wondering if they were going to stay there with Rana's friend. "Mama, were are we going next?" He looked up at her with big curious eyes, eyes that wanted to know about everything in the world even though right now he only wanted one answer soon that phase was coming where he wanted to know them all.
