A small figure pushed his way through the grasses. He knew where he was going, a place that he loved to go to and spend his time. He was going he was heading out to get his mind off of his lost family. He missed his mother and father even his brother so mch, but he knew there wasn't anything that he could do about it. He sighed through his nose as he peaked out from behind the grasses.
His adoptive mother was letting him get out and venture for a while. He was so glad, he was slightly glad. He was leaving Rana with that grumpy male they traveled with for a while. He didn't mind traveling with that male, mainly because of Rana, she was so sweet for taking him in and he was greatful toward her.
Nazih'Matata's small body approched the large tree. He loved this tree it was his favorite place to go to, to get his mind off of thing. He looked at it and flopped down in front of it placing his paw on it's base. He smiled softly and unseathed his claws running them down the tree before turning around and looking at the area around him. It was so quiet at the moment and he was glad. But some company wouldn't hurt right?
He shrugged off the idea and sat back against the base of the tree closing his eyes.

A white body padded through the long golden grasses, grinning as they tickled his belly and paws. His muscles felt pent up, and he longed to get into a free space and run and run and run, but unfortunately this grass was much to thick for him to enjoy the feel of stretching his muscles.
Over the length of the grass he could see the top of a large tree, and adjusted his direction accordingly. A tree would be a nice place to sit and figure out where he was going to go. As he padded towards it he kept a constant beat going with his paws, simply for the fact to amuse himself.
It wasn't long until he broke through the grass and came upon the tree. He had expected, however, to see the grey form sitting at the base of the tree. "Oh!" He took a few steps back. He shouldn't intrude, they might get angry, even if they did look so small.

Nazih was starting to close his eyes just a bit. He didn't know that his path was being unknowingly followed. He wasn't expecting into running into anyone at all but he was going to be thrown off gaurd.
When the sound of another fell over his ears he jumpped his hair standing up slightly as he did. He relaxed slightly when he looked over. It wasn't a lion... it was some kind of dog? What did Rana tell him those were called? Wild dogs! Yeah.
He moved a little closer to the tree, he knew that they wern't that much of a threat, but he was still a little nervous, but that was easily shrugged off, becuase Nazih was like that most of the time. "Who are you?" He demanded puffing out his chest trying to make himself look bigger than the other creature.

Talbot took another step back. He really didn't want to get into a fight, he just wanted to relax. "I... I'll leave. I don't want to upset you or interrupt anything." His tail was threatening to be between his legs, but for now it was just tucked close to his legs. "I didn't mean to intrude."
He could find another tree. Maybe somewhere with less grass and a watering hole or river. A river would be nice. he hadn't felt the gentle current of moving water in a long while. Yeah, he'd just apologize his way out and then find another area. "I'm sorry."

Nazih looked at the wild dog slightly surprised at why he was apologizing. He flicked his head out of his eyes then smiled softly. He flicked his tail behind him a little more then smiled. "You aren't interupting anything!" His smile turned into a grin as he watched the other male.
"Don't worry about it, I don't mind company." The youn male sat up some, his tail egarly flicking behind him. He really didn't mind other's company at at all.
"Whats your name?" He asked inching foreward just a bit but sitting back down right away. He was trying to be friendly he didn't know why the other seemed so nervous, he was still young and really couldn't do that much to hurt him, he was way too small, not even a adotlence yet, or thats what his 'mother had been telling him a few times lately.

Lions. Prides. Kings. Predators. All these words were bad in his mind, perhaps moreso than female wild dogs, but this little cub seemed so kind. Was it really possible that there was no danger in this midday company?
Even if it were so, Talbot only moved forward a few steps before settling on his stomach, tail still plastered to his body. His body shook slightly and he kept his eyes adverted. He wouldn't cause any trouble today. His words and questions were innocent enough, though, so Talbot allowed himself to answer.
"I, uh, I'm T-Talbot. Talbot Jabez. But just Talbot is just fine."

Nazih watched the wild dog quietly. A grin crossed his face as he said his name. "Its nice to meet you Talbot!" He wiggled around slightly where he was sitting. "My name is Nazih'Matata, but you can call me Nazih." HHe nodded again.
He was slightly confused at why he was acting like that, all nervous. He didn't see anyone else around, no danger. So why did this male seem so scared? He looked back at the Wild dog and made a small face. "Is there something the matter?" He stood up and looked around slightly nervously. "Is there something scary around?" His voice was slightly full of panic himself. He looked around with a growl as if to scare off the imangary threat.

Talbot seemed to ease up as the other seemed nervous as well. If a lion, even a young like this, could get nervous, why should Talbot see him as so dangerous? Surely there was very little that was more dangerous than a lion. A rhino, perhaps, but they didn't come in prides. No, everything would be okay if this lion could get nervous as well.
That, of course, was until the lion, Nazih, growled. Talbot shrunk back, ears plastered to his head. Nonono! It wouldn't be okay. He was going to be killed by a pride of lions! He'd heard Nazih's question, but it took him a moment to answer.
He didn't want to make him mad, to offend him, by telling him that he was the danger, so instead he tried to steady his voice and said, "I..uh.. nothing. Nothing's wrong." But his voice still shook slightly and his eyes were glued to the ground, as if there was something interesting in the pattern of the dirt.

Nazih looked around, still very nervous. He made a face as his tail flicked behind him even faster. He could feel small adrenaline take over. He was trying his hardest to hide his nervousness.
His attention snapped to Talbot as he started to back up. That threw him off gaurd but it made him even more nervous, jumpping up and running over to the male fear clearly plastered on his face. He hid behind the wild dog and tried to peak out at what was going on.
"If nothing is wrong then why are you scared?" He asked, his gray fur turning a little red at his cheeks. He was embarssed from being that scared in front of some one else. He puffed out his chest and wandered back to the tree and flopped down in front of him. He was still very much confused at this other creature but once more he didn't show it. He hated looking confused, he didn't like many people knowing that he was confused. He didn't like that many people knowing that he was anywhere near scared or nervous, just happy feelings, nothing else.

Talbot yelped in surprise and jumped away at the lion hid behind him. Suddenly shocked into numbness he howled in anger. "I'm scared of you!" He cried out, but clamped his jaws shut soon after words. He'd just raised his voice to a lion! Stupid!
His tail between his legs, he lowered his head. "I'm sorry! Please don't hurt me!" he whimpered softly, his whole body itching to wiggle away from the presence of the lion. "I just... lions are large, they come in prides. Many would slay me for being nearby. You're a lion, so you must have a family. That's very dangerous for me."

Nazih's ears folded back at what Talbot said to him, not in anger but in sadness. His tail drooped down and he had a guilty look on his face. He then looked up at the wild dog again. He knew what it was like to be afriad of another. Most of the time when other lions or lionesses had diffrent colors, one that arn't of grays, blacks or whites he would feel slightly paniced, it reminded him of the ones that attacked his pride.
"I'm... not part of a pride, but I do have a faimly but they don't hurt others..." His voice squeaked as he talked and he looked away standing up. That look like a cub was in trouble was on his face even though he was still unsure of what he did. "I'm sorry, I just wanted to play... I'll go now." He murmured as he started to walk the other way.

His ears fell in guilt and he took a few steps forward, towards the male, even though his tail stayed between his legs. "Aw, kid... I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or anything." His voice still shook slightly, but he frowned. "I-I'm sorry."
He stretched out his neck, moving his head closer to him, though he wasn't close enough to touch him. "You can s-stay. You were here first anyways." He swallowed a bit and took another step forward. "We can...uh... we can play. What do you wanna play, N...Nazih?" He stumbled over the lion's name, having almost forgotten it.

Nazih stopped in his steps as the other male said something to him. He was slightly caught off gaurd, normally wehn others were afraid of him for what ever reason they wouldn't stop him. He looked back at the male and then arched a small brow.
A smile grew on his lips again. He flicked his tail before looking to him. "Really?!" His excitement grew back. Engery started to come back to him and a small bounce was in his steps again. "I don't know! You wanna have a race to the watering whole! Its right over there." He pointed a paw in a direction to the south before rocking back and forth on his paws excitedly.

Talbot nodded. "I don't wanna upset you. You d-don't seem so bad." His ears remained low and his tail was hovering just outside of his legs. He glanced around at the long grasses and thought about how taxing a race would be. It would be a wonderful work out to have to push through them.
Then he looked back at the adolescent. He didn't want to upset the kid. He seemed okay. He knew that running full on he would easily beat the kid, but maybe that would just be mean. Talbot had years of running on his paws, while Nazih couldn't possibly be able to keep up with the long stride of an adult of any species. He'd let him win.
"Sh-sure." He nodded once. "You call go." He crouched down, pretending to stretch out his front legs, not that he was really risking an injuries in the pace he'd be going.

Nazih grinned ear to ear like he just one the best prize in his life. He really never got a chance to play with others offten and it was great to play with this other creature. He flicked his tail behind him a few times before eagerly looking around a few times. He looked around thinking about what would be the fastest way toward the lake, he knew where it was but he still had to find his way there.
"Alright!" He grinned as Tabot told him he could say go. The male paused thinking. He lowered his front half, his rump and tail flicking around in the air. "Alright, ready... set.... go!" He shouted and right away took off, weaving his way inbetween the grasses as he stared forward heading toward where he knew the water was. He was running as fast as he could. He wasn't that sure where Talbot was behind him but he knew he was in the front. He bounded infront of the lake and pratcitlly bounded around on his feet. "I won! I won!" His voice was filled with excitement and he was even giggling a bit as he looked aorund with a large grin on his face.
