So what are some of your confessions about what you've read? What you've liked? What you didn't like? Lets open those deep dark closets and let the bats out. Its time to reveal those little secrets about our beloved romance novels. Oh and don't be shy, high chances are most of us share them too.
Originally this thread was going to be called Confessions of Romance Novel Elitists. Should I change it to that? Or to something different?

I'll start first since I'm the one trying to get you all to open up.
I'm known as the one and the only person who hates Twilight in my town. Seriously, people are beginning to recognize me as that. I ended up going to Twilight opening night out of the hell of it. And I loved the movie! Absolutely loved it. I really loved how it was completely over acted, I thought it made it charming. And now all I want to do is possess all the novels. Was there subliminal messaging in the movie by any chance?
I also sometimes pick up a romance novel I've already ready just to read the naughty scenes. Cause I'm lame like that.

Well I'll start with what I've read. I've read some a lot of Romantica. I particularly like the Lords or Satyr and The Nauti Boys. I think the reason I liked both so much was because how many naughty scenes it has. God I'm such a horny teenager. xP
I hated Twilight with a burning passion, that thing can't even be labeled as romance let alone literature, I mean really. What type of vampire sparkles and who gives a rats butt about Edward and Jacob? Both annoy me but not nearly as much as Bella annoys me. She's a whiny little brat. Edwards and her relationship is only there because Edward is hawt and Bella smells good. I found the writing lame and horrible along with the fact that Stephenie Meyer is repetitive in describing Edward, he's always "Cold" or "Marble" or "Hard".

I must absolutely agree with you on your point about Twilight. Those are the exact reasons why I can't stand reading them, but I really want to try and finish them so I can at least get it over with and done with. Yeah, I don't get the sparkling thing. I think I mainly liked the movie because they gave Bella a personality and they made Edward so very easy to laugh at.

I couldn't make it past page 40 of Twilight, Bella annoyed me that much. The sister (Tiggermyk) has gone to see the movie twice because she found it so hilarious (also an anti-Twilight). We had wanted to go together and wear matching "Real Vampires Don't Sparkle" shirts, but it didn't work out (mainly because we didn't get the iron on thingies).
Confession: I skip or skim the love scenes unless I'm Rrreeaally into the characters (that and I've been spoiled by KMM and so any love scene that isn't on-par with the MacKelters I just ignore).

Yeah, I really wanted to go with an anti-twilight button and shirt but I ended up deciding to just disguise myself and try and fit in. The fan girls in my town can practically smell it if you hate Twilight and then they attack. That's too bad! That would have been great.
I think you mean Karen Marie Moning, right? If so, I know how you feel. She's just that good at them.

I did go to the movie on release day wearing a "real vampires don't sparkle" tee shirt and a button that said, "Twilight makes me weep for the future of literature." I had more than a few people glare holes into the back of my head the whole movie. KMM is great when it comes to writing sex scenes.
There has been only one book that I couldn't read the sex scenes [well the sensual scenes] was in Lost Souls by Poppy Z. Brite for some reason it was one of those "Oh my god, boy sex" type of thing but then again I was 13 and naive to the whole thing.
Another confession: I tend to blush while reading them for some reason so I always have to read alone in the privacy of my own room. Last time I didn't I was at school and a few people noticed.

Ahhh, Twilight. The book was crap. The movie...I loved the movie. So unintentially hilarious. It's another Scorpion King for me. 3nodding I manage not to blush (much) any more, but I still find it incredibly awkward. So I skip the scenes in public...savor them in private. xd Confession: I have been unable to take a romance to my English class ever since the fiasco with my professor. I know he doesn't think little of me for reading them...I just know that he would tease me and I would do my best imitation of a tomato. sweatdrop

Yeah, when I said "KMM" I was talking about Karen Marie Moning.
Confession: I get bored when the sex scenes come quickly and often, but I heart it when there is "teasing" and increased intimate encounters that keep building until neither character can take it anymore and *really big sympony with lots of cymbols and drums* bursts out in wonderful bliss *bwahahahah*
