Kane: Visiting Neutral territory has been a great idea! He's taken up a temporary residence in an underground den. Due to increased amount of prey Kane was gaining weight, loosing his starved look and gaining more energy. He would soon return to his harsh winter home in the North but not today. No, today he was in one of his rare playful moods! Being careful to avoid nosy bossy helix packs Kane sniffed the ground among the woods, searching for something to chase, fight, play with, or pester. All this energy had to be spent somehow. He wondered if he would meet someone new today, it seemed like that kind of morning.

Makki was stalking through a patch of wildflowers just outside the forest. She leaped and pounced and...
"Missed..." She watched the butterfly float out of her reach again. Crafty things they were, but no matter. She'd destroy them some day. And pouncing the flowers made a new game as they seemed to explode in a cloud of yellow. She giggled a little foolishly and began hopping up and down through the flowers until they no longer poofed with the pollen. She was covered in it though, and didn't care. She began hopping up and down through the elbow length grass, playing with the grasshoppers.

Kane was busy chasing a mouse through a flower field, kicking up blossoms that unknowingly covered his white fur in yellow pollen when suddenly he saw a female pup doing just about the same thing except with insects for prey. She was giggling to herself and she was just ahead of him so he skidded to a stop to avoid crashing into her. Their noses almost touched he was so close. He didn't want cooties so his eyes widened and he leaned back. She was probably infected with them, look at all that yellow stuff! It must be cooties! Unnoticed the mouse got away.
"S-sorry." The word came out before he even thought about it, why was he apologizing again? He had avoided collision so he didn't need to, did he? He blushed, angry at himself for stammering.
( lol Don't mind the cootie thing, he'll get over it! whee I just figure he's like any other little boy. )

Makki stopped and nearly went cross eyed trying to see him properly. She backed up a few steps. "My bad." Still, Makki was looking him over. He had flowers and yellow dust on him. "You're covered in flower poo." What else could it be? It's what flowers excreted, and not all animals... She let that thought stop right there. "Were you trying to kill a butterfly too?" She didn't even notice the boy's nervousness or shyness.

Kane tilted his head to the side. "Flower poo?" He looked down and gasped. 'Noooooo, I'm covered in it! I'm infected! I'm gunna die!' He thought to himself, then noticed the flowers and blinks, thinking about it. 'Waaait a minute here....oh, never mind. Okay, so it's not cooties.' He relaxed, grimacing at his once-white, now-yellow appearance and looked back up at her.
"Well, so are you." He stated, at the mention of killing he quickly looked around for his mouse but it was no where to be found. A grasshopper dared to chirp at him as if it were laughing at him. He flattened his ears at it, promising revenge. That bug will die. "Not a butterfly, a rodent... why kill a butterfly?" He gave her a confused look.

"Because they're evil." She replied simply. "So I'm going to destroy them before they destroy me. Simple as that." She flicked her tail, a cloud of yellow dust rolling off the tip. "So who are you? You don't look like anyone I know. I've never seen you here either."

Having no reason not to believe her he decided to defend himself by destroying butterflies as well! At least most didn't live in his territory. "I'm Kane, I come from the Northern territory, are butterflies dangerous too? Is it easy to destroy them?" He asked, hoping they had a weakness.
With a vigorous shake of his body most of the pollen came off, creating a small yellow cloud as the pollen floated to the ground. He sneezed once, turning his head away first. Flower poo sure was irritating!

"They sabotage things! They make flowers deadly, and plants itchy. They're crafty tricksters. But they are pretty frail. Their wings pop right off!" Makki didn't care that she was still covered in pollen. In fact, she forgot about it completely. "The north? What's up north." Curious! There was more then her forest? Her tail began to wag slightly. "Oh, I'm Makki."

"Good to know their weak enough." If flowers were deadly then this whole field was dangerous, thoughts about the danger of flower poo rose up in his mind again. Was this stuff poisonous? Maybe as long as he didn't eat it he would be fine.
"Lots of snow, no butterflies or flowers." He explained, smiling. He loved his home so much! Snow is so fun. Before he left though he wanted to catch an evil butterfly to prove he can. If they can't fly they can't spread evil.

"No flowers?" Makki loved the flowers. They were so colorful and bright. Harmless unless a butterfly got to them. "What's snow?" Her right ear twitched, the turquoise blue glinting in the sun. As it did, Makki could see the flower poo, and finally shook herself, letting the yellow dust detach and float away from her sleek midnight-colored coat. "And what's so great about it? What's it like?"

Kane thought about snow and all of it's elements before answering.
"It's white and soft, it floats down in little snowflakes from the sky, like a cloud. It's cold and tasty to eat as long as you don't eat it too fast. When it gets warm it turns into water. You can walk through it, throw it around with your nose, dig in it, roll in it and make impressions in the snow that look like helixes with wings. You can make a snow den if you dig enough, it works like a quick hiding place. You can pack it together until it's hard and round then roll it down hills. The snowball will grow in size as it collects more snow on it's way down the hill. You can slide down hills on big leaves or a flat piece of bark, or wood cause the snow can be slippery enough. Sometimes it piles so high in places that you can sink right in it up to your nose. It covers everything, the ground, the branches of trees. Everyone I know calls my home beautiful because of the snow.... just got to be careful not to let yourself get too cold."
He explained as best as he could, suddenly missing home. "Got to make sure to return to the den to warm up now and then." He licked his nose, remembering how snowflakes would fall onto it.

"Oooooah! That sounds like it would be fun to run in!" Her tail swayed slightly. Something new. She had to try it. "Maybe I'll come visit you when I'm bigger then." She stood a little taller, trying to look bigger. "Think that would be ok?" She wasn't really sure if she would ever leave her home, but there was lots to see in the world, and she wanted to see it all.

"Sure, you can visit whenever you like!" Kane announced, tail wagging. That would be fun, visitors that weren't after your things. "When your in the territory just send me a howl and I'll lead you to my home."

Makki jumped up a little. "I'll be sure to then. So how long are you here? I mean, you sticking around for a while?" Standing there was starting to make her twitchy. She had the urge to go hunting. Maybe he'd go hunting too. Makki opened her mouth, then closed it again, wondering if she should ask. Might as well. "Ya hungry? It's about the best time to go hunting. I was thinking of catching myself something to eat..."

Kane nodded in agreement, his tummy was rumbling and prey was much easier to catch here. "Sure, I bet together we could catch plenty!" He announced, he usually never worked as a team with anyone but maybe he could try. It's what packs did, right?
He stood up too and looked around for a place with with shrubbery. That's where most rodents lived, where they were hard to find and get at. "Where do we start?" He asked.
