Barafu padded slowly beneath the trees on the edge of the jungle. He had left his nephew in the cunning paws of Shai for the day so that he could have some time to himself, to think. About their plans and what more they would need. So much work this would be, but if they put their minds to it, they could accomplish it. They would need to spread the word of their intentions and he knew how to do that. Using the birds was a good idea, but word of mouth was easier to keep the information out of the paws of lions. He still wasn't that sure why Shai disliked lions so much, but he wasn't going to press the matter. His female was a tricky and tempermental one, and he for one enjoyed her riled in jest more than true anger.
Shade dappling his scarred, snowy coat, he snorted through his nose before flopping down into the shade of the tree line, being his lazy-self.

Hunting was something most felines excelled at. It was, however, a skill that Siya, who had always preferred being on the skinny side, had never been particularly concerned about perfecting. She'd managed just fine for the longer part of her life and had never worried about starving. Until now. There were five new mouths to feed back home and, while she would have rather just let them deal with their hunger on their own, the newfound motherly side of her personality urged her to feed them. They were her responsibility now and, as much as she didn't like it, Siya had come to realize that she loved the little fuzz balls. Her babies were her most precious possessions and, therefore, top priority. The pale blue cheetah lady crawled through the jungle at a steady pace, golden eyes narrowed and alert for any sign of a good sized meal. Something rustled in the trees nearby and she caught a scent of flesh and fur on the air. A sly smile found it's way onto her pretty face. Could it be food? Hopeful, but still on her guard, the female started towards the noise.

Barafu may have been a lazy son of a b***h when he wanted to be, well a son of a b***h in general, but more or less it was an outward appearance. Inwardly, he was always alert and aware of his surroundings. Being a weak little thing on his own when he was younger had made him that way. So when he heard the soft movings of another creature reached his ears, every muscle in his body tensed. "I'd stop moving, if I were you," he growled, soft enough to be heard, but by no means loudly.

The aggressive tone and voice of whomever it was that she stalked suggested 'feline' and 'mean.' She was close enough now to see him and, while It did not look like she would find a good meal here, he was no lion. Lions, especially the unfriendly kind, were large and dangerous. This was just another cheetah. He was male and bigger than she was, but Siya could hardly be intimidated by the likes of him.
"Calm down," Siya chuckled in amusement as she came into view, poised perfectly and like a picture. She was a fighter through and through, despite her size, and had survived many a battle. He would not frighten her. Still, she was prepared to run, if the situation called for it.
"Nice day, isn't it?" There was a sweetness in her voice, layered over top of poorly concealed venom.

"It was," Barafu replied coolly, his outward appearance relaxed and the look on his face annoyed. A string in the inner weavings of the sadistic cheetah's mind snapped that the gall of the stupid female who thought she could tell him what to do. He had half a mind to teach her a lesson. But then that would mean moving from the mostly comfortable position he was currently in. His dark eyes narrowed as his clever mind weighed the pros and cons. Pro, he could have some amusement be tearing her apart. Con, he'd have to move. Pro, if he decided to go all the way and kill her, that'd be another fur for the cave. Con, Shai may not be happy with him killing a non-lion. Pro, it was damn good fun. Con.... he'd have to get up. He stayed where he was, staring at her with dangerous eyes.
