They were so perfect, they almost glistened.
Lilly and Jacob Lorring were the most popular kids at Reagan High. He was the best runner of the school's famous Cross Country team. She was captain of the Dance team. They got perfect grades, looked good, and got along with almost anyone.
Beth was a part of the group, too. She was Jake's girlfriend, and Lilly's best friend. The two even kept clothes at each other's houses. She smiled often, was down to Earth, and always offered a helping hand.
Then there was John, captain of the Cross Country team, and Jake's long time best friend. He was a bit of a jokester, always getting himself into trouble. Yet, he was smart, and well spoken. All the girls liked him. And why not? He was handsome too.
The four were inseparable. They traveled to classes together, hung out together, walked home together, studied together. Nothing could bring them down, or tear them apart. Right?
Wrong.
It was homecoming day. Beth, John and Lilly were walking to class together, all wearing their team uniforms with faces painted in the school's colors (blue, white, and grey). They came upon a huge mass of people gathered in the hall, and figured it was just a fight. Still, they fought their way through the crowd, attempting to get to class. They got to the center of the mass, only to discover that it was not a fight at all.
Jacob was on the floor, having a seizure.
Many hours later, the three found themselves together in the waiting room of the hospital. Finally, a surgeon came to speak with them. Jacob had a tumor in his brain. They removed what they could of the tumor, and he was now in his room, still asleep.
After 24 hours, Jacob didn't wake up from the sedatives. The doctors said that his body was recovering from the surgery, that this was normal, that he would wake up soon.
After a week, Jacob still didn't wake up. The doctors ran tests, declared that he was in a coma, and put him on life support.
He's been like that ever since.
It's been three months since Jake collapsed. He has a nice sunny room in the hospital and a roommate who they get along with well. They visit often, and the hospital room has become almost like a second home to them. They keep clothes in the closet, and often stay overnight. They constantly talk to him, or read him books, without response.
Still, they stay together, keeping each other happy, optimistic, sane. But, three months is a lot of time, and time is famous for taking its tolls upon people. Grades begin to slip, physical performances diminish, and life seems a bit less bright.
How to cope, when a part of yourself is so suddenly gone? How to pick yourself up again, and find the courage to keep moving on?

I don't have many rules. Mostly, it's just ettiquite, but you still must read to play. Rules are subject to change. Keep it PG-17 That means romance is allowed. In fact its expected, just keep your cyber pants on. Keep Swearing to a MinimumYou are allowed to swear, but not every other word, please. Post OftenI understand not being able to get on, having busy lives, etc. That being said, this roleplay will not stop for you. Please try to post at least twice a week. If you will be unable to get on, please PM me. If I feel you are not playing, I will send you a warning. If I still feel you are not playing, I will kick you out. I need people who will actuially participate. PM Your Profiles to Me You cannot play if I do not accept your profile. Highlight below to see what to do. This tells me that you read the rules. PM me with the title 'Moving On: (character name here)' I will send you a message if you are accepted. No Instant KillsThere will probably be few fights in this rp. Should they occur, NO DEATHS WILL RESULT!!! No Pissing Me OffThat means if I say no, it means no. This is a rare occurance, but if it happens, listen up. Write More Than One LineI understand writer's block. In fact, I often get writer's block. However, 2 sentences are a minimum for a post. Spelling and GrammarI do not mind misspellings, as I am very bad at spelling things myself. However, attempt legibility. ALL POSTS MUST BE LITERATE!!! That means all posts are written in THIRD PERSON. Side conversations are fine, but must be marked somehow (IE ***convo*** or ~~convo~~ ) This Is My IdeaThis rp is based on a movie that I am writing. Please do not steal my idea. Thankyou. SkeletonCharacter Name: (premade) SN: (you) Personality: (The characters are premade, so check the list first for guidelines please) Other: (feel free!)

Lilly

SN: dragonhealer
Age: 16
Personality: Before Jake died, she was always upbeat and happy. She was a bit bubbly, always had a smile on her face, and her grades were perfect. Now, she tries to keep up the appearance that she's just as happy, but has lost most of her luster, and sometimes her hurt and sadness shows through. She is just getting worse and worse at keeping her grip on reality.
Other: She's Jacob's younger sister by a year. Now that she's spending so much time in the hospital with both her brother and his roommate, her grades are begining to slip. She reads Harry Potter and Shakespear to Jake almost every day so that he might hear her and pull out of his coma. She's the captain of her school's Dance team, and before Jake got sick, she was the best dancer on the team. Now, though, her performance has been slipping. She had agreed to go to the homecoming dance with John.
Beth

SN: TeHsChNoZbErRy
Age: 16
Personality: Beth has always been very down-to-Earth. She's a bit less prestine than Lilly, and a bit more wild (although not out of control). She is always willing to offer a helping hand.
Other: Beth is Jake's girlfriend. Her grades weren't perfect before (mostly Bs) but now they're begining to slip. She also spends a lot of time in the hospital. She is also on the Dance team.
Jacob

Age: 17
Personality: Jake was a very social guy. He got along with almost everybody. He was a bit goofy/playful sometimes. He could also be very serious. Nobody picked on his little sister. Ever. Usually, however, he was lighthearted, and everyone liked him.
Other: Jake was the star runner of his school's famous Cross Country team. He collapsed on homecoming day from a brain tumor, and never woke up after the surgery. He is now in a coma. When they were younger, Jake used to read the Harry Potter books to Lilly (which is why she reads them to him now).
John

SN: tested_and_true
Age: 17
Personality: John is pretty smart, but he's also a major goofball/prankster, who often got himself into trouble when he was younger. He's well spoken, and enjoys reading, although is not a bookworm. He could almost be considered the male version of Beth. Maybe.
Other: He and Jacob have been best friends since childhood. He's captain of the Cross Country team, and on the team is second fastest only to Jake. He asked Lilly to the Homecoming dance.
Liam

SN: xDemon Of Starlightx
Age: 16
Personality: Liam is pretty upbeat, especially considering that he lives in a hospital and has cancer. He often makes jokes, and gets along extremely well with Lilly, Beth, and John.
Other: Liam is Jake's roommate. He has cancer, and stays as in the hospital (versus going home) because he lives so far away and nobody is really home to take care of him but is always working. Sometimes it feels like Lilly is visiting him instead of Jacob.
OTHERS Like all stories, not every player is major. Mizz_ramalama will control some teachers and nurses (although feel free to use them yourself as well).
Nurse Lauri

SN: NPC
Age: 38
Personality: Nurse Lauri is pretty upbeat, and is almost always smiling. She tries really hard to make other people smile, partly because she knows how awful hospitals can be emotionally. For this reason, she is often assigned to the pediatric floors. She has a real soft spot for Jake and Liam, and will sometimes check on them even if they aren't on her list.
Other: Even though she's upbeat, Lauri is still serious about being a nurse. She's only been at the hospital for about 5 years, but she's one of the best nurses there. She feels she has gotten to know John, Lilly, and Beth pretty well because they are at the hospital so often. Sometimes she bends the rules for them about staying the night.
Mandi the Nutritionist

SN: NPC
Age: 32
Personality: Mandi is always cheery, but she can be serious, too.
Other: She's the hospital's nutritionist. She sees a lot of sick people come and go, and gives them all ways to stay healthy. What she sees the most are people needing renal (kidney) diets, and people needing ways to gain or loose weight (mostly teen girls). She's good at what she does.
Bill and Janet Lorring

SN: NPCs
Age: Mr. Lorring is 44 and Jan is 42
Personality: Mr. Lorring didn't pay too much attention to his kids before "Liam's accident". That isn't to say he wasn't a loving father, because he was, but they never really needed attention because they always stayed out of trouble. He was always there for them, although he's never quite been "in the loop". Mrs. Lorring is usually a very cheerful woman. She loves her children dearly, and Liam's coma has, naturally, seriously upset her.
Other: Mrs. Lorring has been doing a lot of binge eating since "Liam got sick". She mostly stays at home, cries, and eats. She hasn't dealt much with Lilly becasue of this. Mr. Lorring doesn't show much emotion about his son's illness. He's been trying hard to help his wife, although he lets her cook (it seems to at least passify [sp?] her). Between this and his job, he's been paying less attention to Lilly thn he would like.
Marci

SN: mizz_ramalama
Age: 17
Personality: Marci is a bit of a b***h. She picks on easy targets to make herself feel better. Pretty much, she's the school bully, and has been known to stir up a bit of trouble. Even her teachers don't like her, and she is often getting into trouble. She's also a bit of a slut, although not totally so.
Other: Marci is definately NOT a part of the clique. In fact, she could even be called the villan or the antagonist to the clique. Now that Jake's in a coma, Rose is an easy target. Marci is on the Dance team as well.

Beth shuffled down the halls of the hospital to find the McDonalds. She really needed a McFlurry right then. She stuffed her hands in her pockets, making sure not to look at anyone while she walked, even the people who were serving her at the hospital's McDonalds. As soon as she got her soft serve icecream with tons of oreos in it, she dug in with the spoon.

Lilly shifted uneasily in the elevator. She watched the grey numbers above the metallic doors light up as she rose higher and higher up the shaft. In her hands she held a small pale yellow tote bag that contained everything she would need for the afternoon; cash, books, playing cards, and homework. She had no intention of doing the homework, but if asked she would be able to say that she had at least attempted to do it.
The bell dinged and the doors opened, Lilly stepped into the hallway and started down the hall to her right. five doors down she knocked lightly and walked into a well lit room that held two cots and a butt load of beeping machines. "Hello Jakey!" She said a smile washed over her face. She walked to her brother’s side and sat down on the hard stool. She looked over to the other cot and gave a peace sign "Hey Liam, how's it going?" She asked in a very friendly tone of voice.

After making her way back up to Jake's room, Beth stopped outside the room. She heard Lilly inside, and felt a bit uncomfortable. She went inside, smiling softly and wishing she'd gotten something for Lilly. "Hey Lilly," she said to the girl, sitting down in the seat next to the bed. "How's life?" she asked.

John walked into the hospital and shivered, it had gotten colder outside since Jacob had collapsed. He looked around the hospital and saw nurses and doctors rushing everywhere. It seemed like time went by so fast there. He had on his Cross Country hoodie that had the word "Captain" printed on the back in white lettering and his letterman over that with the hood sticking out around his neck, a pair of old ripped up jeans, his nike shoes, and his fox riders beanie. John looked and saw the elevator about to close and put his hand in the way and opened it back up and squeezed in with everyone else already in it. When he reached the floor that Jacob's room was on he got off. A deep breath. He sighed out and started walking toward his best friends room. To no surprise he saw that Lilly and Beth were already there,"Hey pretty ladies." he said to them both taking a seat next to Lilly.

Lilly laughed when John walked into the hospital room. It was not a true laugh, but she felt like if she were not so sad it would have been funny, and she wanted to be perceived as not so sad. "Things are ok," She said to Beth "I just started working on the new routine with the girls today, they are all really good" She paused, trying to think of something else that was good. "Umm, Well, I got new shoes too!” She kicked up one of her feet, showing off her brand new pale orange converse with a glittery embroidered flower design dancing over the canvases. The shoelaces were lime green and thick making a strange but satisfying visual effect.

Beth blinked at the shoes, smiling. "Wow, nice." she tilted the mcflurry towards Lilly, "Want some?" she asked, then grinned at John. "Hey there!" she waved a bit, not really looking at Jake.

Lilly shook her head, she had given up sweets, not wanting to fall into the pit of emotional eating that some of her family had. "No thanks, I'm good." She patted her stomach gesturing that she was to full to eat anything. "You should share with John." She joked and crossed her legs. She set her bag down next toe the bed, and kicked off her shoes, she did not care if the hospital rules told her to keep them on, she was going to get comfortable.
