Prunus pensylvanica
Prunus Latin name for plum trees from Greek "prunos" (plum or cherry). Pensylvanica of Pennsylvania.
Nickname:
Fiery / Cherry
Information On Plant:
A small, pioneer species around 30 feet tall with a narrow crown. The seeds can live 100 years underground before germinating due to a disturbance, such as a forest fire.
Fire cherry is an ecologically important tree in that it rapidly invades disturbed areas, particularly in the Northeastern U.S. It quickly stabilizes soils and helps retain crucial organic matter and nutrient constituents. It is very shade intolerant and quickly dies if overtopped.
Buds:
Multiple, clustered end buds; hairless with pointed bud scales
Bark:
Bright reddish-brown, smooth, thin, often slightly peeling in transverse strips especially towards the base of the trunk. Lenticels are prominent, horizontal smaller branches are red; inner bark is aromatic/bitter.
Habitat:
Burned areas, thickets, and young woods; often growing in stands with aspens and Eastern white pine.
Found west to Colorado, east through British Columbia across Canada to Newfoundland, south to Georgia; to 6000 ft. in the southern Appalachians.
Uses:
Lumber is used for fuel and pulpwood; acts as a nurse tree, providing cover for the next generation of hardwoods; cherries are used in making jelly.

Looks
Human: A male with flowing white hair that reaches slightly above the waist. He has fair skin and sharp, golden eyes.
Real form: A white western dragon with wings on the back. He still has piercing golden eyes.
Although an Ice Dragon Demon, he can't really tolerate the winter cold, aside from his own generated 'coldness'. However, it is but because of an illness that was there since he was a child, so he had already gotten used to it. There is a known cure for this illness, but Saniiro had yet to recove completely.
