I used to be one before that spell messed up, now i have my powers but no tail, i can hold my breath for a long time, swim faster than normal and control the wind and weather, but no tail

I love mermaids too. Its probably because they live in my favorite place in the world, the ocean. There so mystic and for of legend. it's always interesting to hear all the different stories about them. it would be really cool to see a mermaid while scuba diving but i don't think they like scuba divers.

HippieLover255 LOL no, they would prob kill u. If they tried to kill me wouldn't that be sirens? I knew that mermaids are miscevious but i thought the sirens were the ones that like to kill.

I knew that mermaids are miscevious but i thought the sirens were the ones that like to kill. In fiction mermaids are made out to be something completely different. Depending on what story you are reading. Some write the creatures as beautiful women that sing gorgeous song. In these stories the creatures are often very kind hearted. Others write them as horrific looking creatures that have hearts as cold as ice. Mischief is also a written factor on this subject as well. But I've never heard of any story speaking of unprovoked violence from the species.

I know a lot of that stuff i just don't know what information i should use. You see, my favorite genre of books to read is Fantasy, actually that is the only thing i read. Since i read so much of it, which they are so different, i don't know which information i should use. Sometimes i read stories about mermaids that are mean other times they are nice, sometimes there are Sirens. I just don't want to look stupid okay, i just read to much fanatasy that i don't know what info to use.

But it has nothing to do with h20 besides their powers are the same. lol. I'll post it in the Stories arena if you want to read it, but you need to send a pm to me. The book was also based on a dream. All of my books are. xd

They are depicted as birds with the heads of women, women with bird feet and tails, or other combination. The Greek depiction was changed however, until they are mermaids, sometimes with and sometimes without fish tails. ( culture... *grumblegrumble*)
