I'm gonna fast for Advent, because I heard it can be a fast like Lent is, but I'm not quite sure how it'd work.
It'd be really cool to like, pray instead of eating and stuff though.
So, tips or something?
I'm thinking I could perhaps eat a very light, nutrient-rich meal in the evening, with an evening prayer thingy. [My Dad's a priest so we have the books].
But hey, open to suggestions.

Srsly? You know people can only go about 3 weeks without any food... and it hurts not to eat. But, if you're sure...
Here's some tips:
-Drink lots of smoothies. Like, smoothies you've made yourself with fruit in a blender, unless you consider that cheating
-As much as it hurts to say this, don't just give up food. Seriously, if you're fasting so you can pray, make sure you also give up other things that might distract you from God... or just cut down on them?
-Definitely have a meal a day. Maybe you could have tea and breakfast, but skip lunch to pray... and then pray a lot during the day?
-Ask any annoying siblings you might have not to do things like wave food in your face... and don't get a chocolate advent calendar!
-Make sure you know what you're going to pray about! Don't just sit there thinking... and read your Bible, too. It's not just one-way communication.

Well, yeah, I'm gonna eat.
I'm just gonna eat less than when Muslims fast [cos they cheat].
I could give up school...
I'd probably have to eat lunch, cos that's at school and I need my strength to get me through the afternoon [most boring lessons ever + rehearsals].
I could just eat honey and locusts...

I don't get the one about the demons: "And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured at once. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not drive it out?" 20 And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. 21 "But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.""
I checked some other versions, and the French version (biblegateway.com rocks... xD) specifically said it was this kind of demon... but it said for the NIV that it's only "some manuscripts" ...anyone care to give their opinion on that? I don't get it.
EDIT: Hmm, I might fast for advent too...
