I decided it would be best to split up the duties of mods. One of the more important positions is the Topic Mod.

What a Topic Mod does: A Topic Mod checks the Guild's main forum regularly to see if any topics made there belong in one of our subforums. They will also check the subforums to see if any topics do not belong in that particular subforum. Another requirement is checking the posts of the topics themselves to make sure no posts are off topic or are inappropriate; if those posts are found, the Topic Mod will either edit or delete the bad post and must PM the maker of that post telling them of their mistake and not to do it again.

Positions available: One for sure, possibly two or three.

Now for the application form, which is only slightly different than the application form currently in the other topic:

1. How much time are you able to spend on a daily basis updating the topics?
2. Is there anything that will lower your time mentioned in #1 (such as school starting again, working a job, vacations for example) and how much will it lower the time you can spend updating the topics?
3. Do you have any previous experience as a mod or an admin? If so, briefly describe the places, such as if you had any specific job there, how many members there were, etc.
4. Are you currently a mod or an admin at another site?
5. Why do you want to be a mod?
6. (optional) Say anything else here that you think might help you get the position.

Post your applications for Topic Mod in this topic, not the other one, because I will eventually make that other topic just for Sanctuary Mods.

Two questions. 1) Can you apply for both? Because I applied for the other but I'd apply for this one too. 2) If you make someone a topic mod, would their sole job be the topics or if say, they have everything s**c and span and such, could they then also help update the sanctuary?

If it's okay, I'll edit this post to add in an application later after I've slept and can think clearer.

1. I don't see why not. You might want to state in the apps which job is your first choice just in case.
2. If the topics are in order, I suppose they can help with the sanct if they want.

Since there haven't been any other posts since yours, I'm just going to make another post with my application. Sorry if it's long. stressed I like to be thorough in applications.

1. I'm on at least once a day but if I had more to do here, like taking care of threads, I would be able to spend at least an hour a day doing the work. In the past, when I was in a mod position, the work always came first, so that if it needed 2 hours of work I would be there for two hours.
2. There isn't really anything that could lower my time doing the mod job. Even when I was working and/or going to school (in limbo right now) I still went online for at least an hour a day.
3. I have been a mod several times before, and I am the captain of a guild, though I am not currently the acting captain, as I made my friend the captain while I was on hiatus from Gaia and just haven't returned as the full captain yet. I was also the mod of several small guilds that my friends had, though there was little to nothing to do there since they were so small. My main experience was with modding the guild Magical Poll Land. It currently now has over 50k members, and I don't remember how much it had when I stopped modding for it. I'm thinking at least 40k. I had no specific job there other than upholding the rules of the guild and of Gaia. I did that for about a year. Modding there was almost constant work.
4. On this account I am not captain, mod or admin anywhere. On my main (Gramma Rassie) I am mod of just a few of my friends small guilds.
5. I want to be a mod because I want to be helpful. I enjoyed working as a mod in the past and I enjoy this guild, so I would like to be able to help keep it tidy.
6. As I said in the first answer, I spend as much time on the 'job' as I need to. If there is a lot of work to be done, then I can and will spend most if not all of my time online doing the job. I am very objective, not taking sides in a dispute but working to resolve it. I follow orders even when I disagree with them, and I'm approachable.

I did apply for the other mod position, but of the two I would rather have this one. It's more of what I'm used to, and you said if the topics are all in neat order the topic mod could help with updating the sanctuary. So, I would rather do this one. smile

Alright, I was rather impressed with WaitingForGreen's app, so we have one Topic Mod now.

If you still want to be considered, you can still apply; as I said in my first post, I might let 2 people have this position. I'll leave this open for a little longer in case of any late entries, but I don't want to leave this open too much longer, so if you are going to apply, please do it as soon as possible. Also, just because you aren't accepted for this position doesn't mean you aren't qualified. My job is to find the person(s) that is best suited for the position.

1. How much time are you able to spend on a daily basis updating the topics?
2-6

2. Is there anything that will lower your time mentioned in #1 (such as school starting again, working a job, vacations for example) and how much will it lower the time you can spend updating the topics?
Vacations; It would depend on how long I'm gone, where I'm going and if internet access would be available.

3. Do you have any previous experience as a mod or an admin? If so, briefly describe the places, such as if you had any specific job there, how many members there were, etc.
On my friend's site. There were, oh, fifty people there, some of which were very tiresome to deal with. It's a literate role playing site.

Gaia: I'm an elf in the Secret Santa. I help mod the thread, check posts for applications, and PM massive amounts of people.

4. Are you currently a mod or an admin at another site?
Yes; It's about dead, though; everyone got lazy there.

5. Why do you want to be a mod?
Because I enjoy helping people out, I've had experience, and I'm always willing to learn more if I'm lacking.

6. Say anything else here that you think might help you get the position.

I always get what I've obligated to do done first.

1. How much time are you able to spend on a daily basis updating the topics?
>Probably about 4 to 7 hours on the weekdays after I finish my homework and possibly 9 to 10 hours on the weekends. I'm on Gaia alot so I could spend around half of the time I'm on checking the forums now and then.
2. Is there anything that will lower your time mentioned in #1:
School on the weekdays and homework on every single day of the week=about 1 to 3 hours max
Piano on the weekdays and weekends=1 to 1 and a half hours max
Friday Chinese School=4 hours
3. Do you have any previous experience as a mod or an admin?:
Yes. I always lurk in the Gaia Miniforums and I am a MOD for a Bumping Agency. I go onto the mule to update the slots and make sure that the orders placed are put onto the slot or in the waiting list.
I also am a MOD at Shadow World Coven and ily Tokki World. I am the Event Moderator at Shadow World Coven and I help out with the ily Tokki Events put in the Crew Only subforums in the ily Tokki World.
4. Are you currently a mod or an admin at another site?:
No
5. Why do you want to be a mod?:
I become a mod to help people so that they don't worry about being there 24/7 to make sure the guild is in top place. I want people to have their social lives outside of Gaia and I do this to help them enjoy life both in the computer and out. Also, the other people in the guild who are asking questions and demanding stuff, I can help them out instead of building stress onto the other MODs.
6. Thank you for your time. If I'm not chosen, I understand and I'm sure there will be more opportunities in the future. User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

PS. I applied for the Sanctuary Mod application as well but I would like to have the Sanctuary Mod before this Mod job. Either one is fine (:

1. How much time are you able to spend on a daily basis updating the topics? On school days, about 5 hours. On weekends, usually up to 10 hours, I know I have no life

2. Is there anything that will lower your time mentioned in #1 (such as school starting again, working a job, vacations for example) and how much will it lower the time you can spend updating the topics? Actually, not really anything that comes to mind. My job is during nighttime so that shouldn't slow me down.

3. Do you have any previous experience as a mod or an admin? If so, briefly describe the places, such as if you had any specific job there, how many members there were, etc. Yes, I am a moderator of the site, CheatsGuru.com (this is my profile on CheatsGuru, the badge with a "G" on my avatar indicates that I am a moderator. It's a very popular site, usually getting over 200 users per day), I am the captain of the Guild for Lovers of Mythical Creatures, and was a Global moderator for a site that my friend made (actually was pretty popular), but it was recently closed down.

4. Are you currently a mod or an admin at another site? Yes, a mod for CheatsGuru.

5. Why do you want to be a mod? I want to be a mod because I have a lot of free time during the day, and modding yet another place would definitely help keep me occupied. I would also love to help out for an awesome guild like this, since it has helped to save many of my dragons when I was a beginner with the DragCave

6. (optional) Say anything else here that you think might help you get the position. N/A (May update later)

Is there a roleplaying mod for that form?

1. How much time are you able to spend on a daily basis updating the topics?
Well, I'm on daily, for hours. I'd say... 5-7 hours minimum, sometimes more.

2. Is there anything that will lower your time mentioned in #1 (such as school starting again, working a job, vacations for example) and how much will it lower the time you can spend updating the topics?
Well, if I ever make the call, I'll be starting GED classes, and next year, I may have to get a job, so... if I'm doing both at the same time, I probably won't be able to do this at all, but, I'm planning to do one at a time, so I should only lose 8 hours of my online time, which shouldn't affect this much, if at all. If I do end up having to do both at the same time, I'll make sure to let everyone know.

3. Do you have any previous experience as a mod or an admin? If so, briefly describe the places, such as if you had any specific job there, how many members there were, etc.
Not really. I was a mod in another guild briefly, but at that time, I wasn't online much, so I didn't really do much.

4. Are you currently a mod or an admin at another site?
I did create my own site, but only two of my friends joined and it died soon after. So, I'm not really a mod or admin there anymore, even though I am. If that makes sense...

5. Why do you want to be a mod?
I want to help, plus it would give me something to do during to who knows how many hours I'm online daily...

1. How much time are you able to spend on a daily basis updating the topics?

I can spend about an hour a day updating things, im on after school (I get home at 3 EST) for about 30-90 minutes. Then, later I can be on for about one hour.

2. Is there anything that will lower your time mentioned in #1 (such as school starting again, working a job, vacations for example) and how much will it lower the time you can spend updating the topics?

School starts back on the fourth (I think) Im going on vacation from Dec. 28- Jan. 3. I dont think I will have access for those dates, but after that, it is back to the previous schedule.

3. Do you have any previous experience as a mod or an admin? If so, briefly describe the places, such as if you had any specific job there, how many members there were, etc.

I am the owner of a guild, we have 16 users and a few that are not members. Right now we have 2736 posts in the guild, and I have four mods (excluding myself) I basically edit people's posts, delete topics, and move things.

4. Are you currently a mod or an admin at another site?

No, only in my guild!

5. Why do you want to be a mod?

I really like to keep some order, and have prior experiance with dealing with people running around a guild. I feel that it would be fun to be a mod in another guild other than my own!

6. Say anything else here that you think might help you get the position.

well, like I stated before, I am a mod in my guild [linktoguild] and know how to keep order and peace!
