I've been noticing how pop culture has gotten crazy lately with the opening of "Twilight" tonight. Does anyone else remember all the crazes of the olden days of yore?
PS: I'm not dissing "Twilight", I actually like it. The books anyways. I've read the first three books and am on the fourth one now. I'm hoping the movie'll be good. I'm going at midnight.
Fads? Crazes? What do you remember you and/or the people around you being obsessed with? heart

I never got a furbee though, I remember a lot of the fads through the 90s, they were sure interesting, like the original virtual pet fad, I had 3 or 4 of those things, I still have one, it just needs batteries.

OMG! Same Here! I still have pets, a Furbee, Beanie Babies, trolls, My Little Ponies, all that damn s**t. My mom never had the heart to throw a lot of it out. xd I should go through all of them...I know I have other fad things too. >_< I'm such a dork...

Twilight the movie was awful. Like, I really disliked it. The books are brainless and fluffy, but in a better way. It's like really good fanfiction, but not worth the hype people are giving them.
And I still have a bazillion Beanie Babies. I didn't follow many fads, but I was at least conscious of most of them.

Don't know if this really counts, but I remember when I was nine or ten and I was totally in love with NKOTB. I heard they just recently got back together and laughed and laughed. (Now, the only boyband I consider legit is the Beatles.) xd

I remember Cabbage Patch Dolls, never did get that one I always thought they were awful. And to my horror, I gave my 6 year old daughter my prize original Care Bear, just for her to throw it out because she thought it wasn't a "proper" one. crying

Pokemon, but given the amount of versions of the game and the amount of binders with the cards in, not to mention the plushes, figurines and cushion we have, I can't really call it a fad (I bought Pokemon Blue on import from America to play on my Japanese Gameboy, so I was in it early smile )
Saving up to by the entire DVD collection now xp

I have a guy friend who still wears then, at least I don't think his wife has thrown them out yet... hmmm me thinks me and her need to have a little talk.... twisted As for Twilight, big fat NO scream scream Vampires=Scary not sexy! (please fail to note that my avi is a vamp, I just like the eyes! hehe) The whole thing seems to take all the bad stuff about being a vamp and toss it out the window. But conveniently leaves the good stuff, like strength and speed. Then again I haven't read/seen any of it so I guess I would be wrong. Other fads, MLP! My Little Pony to you layman! hehe, I loved them as a child and now that I have my own income I collect them. And I have a lot, but not nearly as many as some of my fellow collectors out there! There are literally thousands to collect.
