Wanderlust struck the black cub once more.
He found himself growing farther from his family. The urge to explore new regions often overcoming the cub. Tshilaletala always held close to images of vast seas, dense forests, long deserts. In his thoughts, he wanted to visit every last one of these places. In addition to his wanderlust, he also found it necessary to wander.
Many animals wandered. He found them ofter. Wandering. Searching. What was a cub like himself suppose to do? Well, of course... He snuck upon them, hoping to scare the daylights out of them. Twice did he succeed, and once had one chased him off.
Now Tshila was on his fourth hunt, eager to hear the screeching voices of another once more. Like those legendary lions he often heard about, he wanted to be like one, or; at least get his name known.

It was mid-day and a dusty-colored lioness was making her way quickly across the savanna. Her pink eyes were narrowed and her mouth was tightened in a frown.

Chardon...

She would find him.

She got what she wanted. Nothing and no one got away from her.

The dirt was cool under her paws despite the time of day, but it didn't take the edge off Amalahle's foul mood. In fact, probably nothing would. In the back of her mind, the only thing that would brighten her day was taking out her frustration and anger out on something.

Or someone...

But all she could do was keep wandering; keep searching, until she found Chardon. Or until she found someone to hurt.

Tshilaletala could be the likely candidate; he happened to be stumbling along the lioness's path, unknown to her approached fingure. His lilac orbs focused on one thing: Ahead. Until he set himself up right, paws steadily keeping pace with the wind. But, while pausing to breathe a scent of fresh air in... He caught something else.
Another scent.
A lion scent. Another victim.
He stumbled forward, excitement surging through his core like static. His fourth victim! Tshila felt the rush of victory thrill through him once more, a grin growing on his green-masked face.
This time, he wouldn't let himself down.

It was only mere seconds before Amalahle caught the young lion cub's scent. Her eyes narrowed even more, frown deepening. Just what she needed...

Cubs.

Irritating, bratty, selfish, stupid, whiny little cubs. How she despised them...But she smiled.

What a perfect candidate this cub would be for taking out her anger. A bat here, a rough nudge there...She'd have him screaming for his precious mommy in no time. But then it occurred to her...

Why did she want that?

Well, it didn't matter right then. She'd let the cub play his little game...And then turn it all upside-down.

Fool Tshilaletala could be, he had his ways, and right now he wasn't going to turn around, flee. Flee for his family. Flee for anything. Amalahle was his target. His target alone.
She wouldn't escape his trouble-some mind, even if it costed him a scratch or two. He was used to pain. Well, something like pain. She didn't scare him, at all. Not at all.
Nonetheless, he had his mind made him. Crouching low he continued forward, eyes darting while they also locked on the lioness. His tail flicked casually, careful not to batter the ground.
If that happened, then he would have to retreat. She would hear him, and though she already knew his prescense, he had yet to realize.

Then he shot forward, eager to get this started.
And to add to his attack on her, he growled loudly (which, for him, was hardly hear-able), and ran towards her.

He hoped he scared her. Somehow. Some way.

A slight, whispering growl in the back of her ears signaled to Amalahle that the little cub was now "attacking".

In a split second, she whipped around and pinned the cub face-first in the ground. Releasing herself from him, she began to circle him lazily. Eyes half-lidded and mouth drooping, she examined him.

Black and green and slight in figure. He was just a little male cub.

"Practicing your...hunting skills?" Ama asked quietly, a hint of spite to her tone. She flicked her tail and continued to circle.

Something went wrong- was the first thing he realized. For once, Tshila felt his entire being shake furiously. He realized something went wrong once she whirled around- facing him, her paws pinning him face-first.
Having no time to contract what had happened a squeak left his throat, surprise washing over his now-frozen body.

What. Just. Happened.

Heart dancing the tango in his chest, he turned to look at the lioness. She was...

"UGLY!" He spoke quietly, even though his words would be maxed into a possible yell. Scrambling upward he stood to face her, eyes narrowed.
Ihateoperanow: "I wasn't hunting!" Of course he wasn't. Yet, he stood still as his brain worked. She couldn't know what he was doing, nu-uh!

Amalahle stopped mid-step.

Ugly?!

The adolescent's eyes narrowed to slits, lip curling in a sneer. But then her face relaxed. She even smiled.

So what if a lousy, no-good, rotten, bratty little cub insulted her? The opinion of a cub meant nothing. They were all the same. Just naive, ignorant brats.
This cub was no different by any means, except for his rather...Odd way of speaking.

"Not hunting, hmm?" she drawled uninterestedly. Slowly, she bent down until her face was at his level. "Then what were you doing sneaking up on me, brat?"

Oh, Letladika's stomach churned, worry of her ferocity towards him. So what, he said what was on his mind, despite disrespect, he could care less. A cub like himself hardly cared about others, he hardly cared about the damage that he could cause. This lioness should care, all he wanted to do was scare her!

Now look how she was!

Ugly, eyes narrowed, a sneer even. He raised an eyebrow in question, anger dancing in his lilac eyes. What was she plotting?

Thinking?

He didn't understand why he cared, kitten-claws unsheathed, ready to do some damage if she decided to 'tear' him a part. Ha, like she could do that. This scare went wrong. Dangerously wrong, and still he hardly even thought about his well-being. If he was going to get hurt or not was a question he hardly thought of, right now.

Let her do her worst. See what happens, he imagined no one might not miss him, after all.

Then confusion stirred. She smiled. Her face relaxed.

That meant something.

"Who're calling brat, brat?" Immediately he shot a retort back at her, ignoring her question. She wasn't going to get the truth out, obviously.

Ama rolled her eyes, annoyance clearly etched in her features. It was obvious she had had enough of the cub's immature antics and reactions to things. And gods knew she had had more than enough of that strange, whispering voice of his.

"I'm calling YOU a brat." she sighed, turning and walking away. "I guess that whispering is accompanied by poor hearing?" she mumbled, lip curled in irritation. Her pace was slow, but she had no plans to turn around again. If the cub chose to follow her, so be it. She'd lose him eventually. And if he didn't give up, well...She'd cross that bridge when she came to it.

Her encounter with the cub resulted in one good thing, though.

It had taken her mind off of Chardon. Just for a while.

Hey, look it that! Her expression became annoyed. Tshilaletala felt a sudden thrill surge through him. This might be better than having to scare someone, actually. A grin twisted on his black face, and he was tempted to spit out another retort.

Tilting his head in her direction, he listened to her obvious retorts. A frown formed on his maw, accompanied with a look of agitation. He wasn't a brat-

And defiantly WASN'T deaf!

A hiss escaped his throat. About to attempt to yell something back, he paused in anger, tail lashing furiously.

No. She. Didn't.

No one ever walked away from him. Ever.

He started off after her, teeth gritting unbearably together. This was one fight he wouldn't lose.

Ugh, his hissing was so unbearably annoying. Couldn't the little creature just give it a rest? For crying out loud. A cub like him belonged in a den with his precious mommy, whining and chewing on her, not following after random adolescent lionesses just because.

In a split second, Ama whipped around and grabbed the top of the cub's head with her paw. Then she slammed his face down into the soft, moist dirt, getting it nice and stuck.

"You think you can actually fight me? Seriously?" she asked, amusement lining her tone. "Poor little boy." she laughed. "You're quite a few years too early." With a lash of her tail and a sigh of "regret", Ama turned around and walked off, leaving the stuck, wriggling cub all by himself.

"Quite a few years too early..." Ama called back as she walked, her voice fading as she grew farther and farther away.

A sense of doom was quick to spread throughout Tshilaletala. Hardly imagining her turning around, his gaze widened incredibly large. He froze, unwilling to witness his doom as her paw upwards, and when her paw came in contact with his head, he flinched away. Thank goodness he had his eyes close, or he would be paying far worse than what awaited him. Thoughts collided through his brain as he worked past the kinks. Everything went so fast. In that spare time, he found himself thinking that this was a bad idea. Maybe he shouldn't have followed the rust-colored lioness. If he hadn't, maybe his world wouldn't be clouded in darkness!

"Mrrpppphhh!" He wiggled his rump, paws grasping the soft ground above his head...? Wait. Where was his head? His ears furrowed upwards in an attempt to hear, but his attempts were futile. He didn't know where he was. If he was in the place he expected, or the place he hoped not.

Either one was a place he hardly wanted to venture near. Either place was something he'd feel regretful, or embarrassed of.

Releasing his jaw was a task he thought painful. He could not speak, but a whine was quick to emanate from his throat. This method was the only was he'd found out where he ended at. He still found it dreadful, but he couldn't complain as long as his world was dark, and the pressure beating down on his head. Sticking his pink tongue out, the lion cub tested the ground... Then spat, the little sand particles welling up in his mouth.

Suddenly, his eyes popped open. A squeal left his throat, accompanied by wiggling and fierce spasms of anger, surprise. The realization was easy to spread. That lioness had gotten his head stuck in the ground!

Something like that. He believed!

A hiss left his mouth, jaws clenching together as he pulled harder. Finally, after a while of pulling, whining, and many pitiful screams (of rage), he released his head from the harsh ground. However, what was drawn afterward his freedom, was less 'pleasant.'

"That stupid lion!"

Tshilaletala started stomping like a baby, his anger coming out in waves. He didn't need to check if she was still in front of him. After all, he couldn't see! Trying to open his eyes would only release pain, as he'd have to spend hours trying to clear the sandy particles out of his eyes.

Then face, don't forget the face.

"Stupid lion," He mutter again, anger finally starting to residing. "If I ever start traveling, your my first target!" He yelled off into the distance, hoping, despite how far she probably was, that she might have heard him. Oh, she should have heard him, if she did.

He meant it. He'd get her one of these days, and when he did, he promised to do the same thing to her.

Letting a sigh escape his maw, Tshilaletala grumbled some vicious words, before he stood up and blindly stomped home. Who cares if he ran into something. Who cares if anyone saw him.

Who cares. His little 'adventure' today was over. A sad ending, but tomorrow was another 'unsuccessful' day.

He was starting to have more off days, sadly.
