I am not sure if there has been topics about this so delete this topic if there is...
This is kinda like the hime lolita group, but they are actually hime gyaru girls. In my opinon they are not that much different. It is just the fact that one is called hime lolita the other is called hime gyaru. But I guess hime gyaru has more of the gyaru fashion in there especially on their big princess dyed hair(to look more european haha). Also hime gyaru girls tend to always were those cute circle lenses and palty hair dye. LOVE that stuff.
http://royalisa.co.cc (my site I sell circle lenses and cute asian clothes)
I love this kind of fashion. EGG and VANILLA GIRL are definately my favorite magazines.

CIRCLE LENSESWhat are circle lenses? They are lenses that made to make your eyes look huge because of their site in diameter. It basically makes your pupil look big therefore it gives the illusion of huge doll like eyes. You can see from here how they look like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0N9CFcGB9w What does it have to do with lolita and hime gyaru?Well, not just lolitans and hime gyaru girls are wearing them but other groups are wearing them as well such as cosplayers. Almost all of the girls in asia are crazy over them. I guess it is the whole European look they are trying to go for. Is it bad for your eyes?Nope. It is just like your regular contacts. The only difference is the size and the colors.

I think there are some very big differences between hime gyaru and hime Lolita, but that’s not what I’m here to talk about. I’ve never heard of those lenses before and they look REALLY cool. I’ve wanted to get myself some blue contacts before, but I’m really afraid of putting things in my eyes. I think because these also make your eyes look bigger I would be willing to conquer my fear. I have some questions about them. Are they bigger than normal contacts? Harder to put in? Do they get stuck (like in the top of your eyelid) more often? Which are more comfortable, blue or black? Also if you want some more cute moving icons and such for the site, I would love making them, just because im bored. I wouldent charge, I would just want to get artist's credit. My DA.Edit: The girl in the first picture is from Gyaruru isnt she? :3

My mother literally handed me a paper with hime gyaru in it as I opened this topic up. On the front page of the Thursday, November 20, 2008 issue of the Wall Street Journal, there is an article titled, "Japan's Latest Fashion Has Women Playing Princess for a Day: Part Marie Antoinette and Part Paris Hilton, The Style Affords Pricey Stress Relief". A quote from the article,Quote: "(Mayumi Yamamoto) is a hime gyaru, or princess girl, a growing new tribe of Japanese women who aim to look like sugarcoated, 21st-century versions of old-style European royalty. They idolize Marie Antoinette and Paris Hilton, for her baby-doll looks and princess lifestyle. They speak in soft, chirpy voices and flock to specialized boutiques with names like Jesus Diamante, which looks like a bedroom in a European chateau. There, some hime girls spend more than $1,000 for an outfit including a satin dress, parasol and rhinestone-studded handbag." The article also mentions "yamambra, or mountain hag, which requires a dark tan, white eye shadow and shaggy, silver-bleached hair." Anybody wish to expand on this?

Yeah, there are very big differences. Hime Lolita is just princess themed lolita, and that theme can have a lot stretch, depending on your creativity. Himegyaru has a princess look to it, but overall it is much more modern and is more 60's-look than the Victorian and Rococo look that Lolita looks like.
btw, Circle lenses can be dangerous for your eyes. Despite some places being FDA-approved in Asian countries, in places like Korea and whatnot, there has been an increase in teenagers going to their eye-doctors with eye infections and whatnot because they don't follow instructions on how to take care of their lenses and their eyes.
But generally, you'll be okay if you rinse them properly everyday, and not wear them for more than 6-8 hours.

Anybody wish to expand on this? -C'est la lune qui conduit la danse...- Yamanba*** (no r), is supposedly different from the old school manba by being significantly darker and crazy colored hair. But now it's basically out of style. Thing is gyaru is that a -lot- of their older 'substyles' were extremely similar together, and a lot of them gradually died, if they even started up. Nowadays you'll see gyarus doing the new manba style (crazy hair or more normal dyed), which might've just took in the old manba & yamanba style. In any case, the "-manba" style as a whole seems to be dying in popularity, according to those examining in the gyaru scene in Japan. -...quand le soleil sera couché dans ton âme froide.-

-...quand le soleil sera couché dans ton âme froide.- Yes but I have to say they are the same as colored contact lenses. All lenses can harm you eyes in the long run btw.

They are big because of its diameter : ) It makes the pupil look big therefore it makes the eyes look doll like. They are just like any other regular colored contacts. All contacts are the same despite the color. Yes there is a major difference but if you look at it they are all going for the Marie Antoinette style or the old European style.

Himegyaru is very elegant and cool! I love how their hair is done up and tiara's are always a plus in my fashion booklet!
Circle lenses, I know where to get some online - it's from a Gyaru website, if your into Gyaru style then I'm pretty sure you know the website . . .
