Only a little bit late.
Minako's character underwent a rather large makeover in PGSM. The anime and manga portrayed her as much more of a ditz, and really as a sort of carbon-copy of Usagi. PGSM makes her a much more serious leader.
How do you like your Minako? Would you rather they left her personality alone, or make her PGSM self more anime/manga like?

I liked her the way she was in the manga, she was entertaining and made me smile at her antics. lol

It is a change from her ditsy personality to something more serious, but I think they went over board for being serious. They made her more obsessed with the past life issue and preventing it, making Minako into a cold heart ^%&$ when she gives the other senshis a cold shoulder because they refuse to dwell in something that happened many many years ago. I mean they could made her ditzy as Aino Minako and serious when she is Sailor Venus. I miss the goofy Aino Minako.

I definitely agree that the seriousness could have been toned down a bit, but I don't think I would go so far as to make her a ditz. Maybe ditzy leaders just don't do it for me or something. Giving her a lighter side, maybe even get her smiling when she's just Minako would be nice.

I always find myself pointing out that Minako came first and Usagi came second. So Usagi is a ditzier copy.
I liked serious Minako, but she was too serious, and too aloof. You can't be a leader when you're never with the team. Anime/Manga Minako was a lot sweeter... though I like the fact that the live action made Minako's dream of being a superstar become true.

You are quite right that Usagi is the copy. My bad.
That's one thing I never really got about super-serious-everything-for-the-mission Minako. Why is she an idol? That makes it so much more difficult to have a secret identity.

I like first season anime Minako. She was much more serious in the first season than in the rest of the series.
