I think the ps3 will finish third this gen but i still think it going to sell at least 100 million units. Just hope they keep coming up with games like LBP. Even though everyone always say Nintendo are the innovators, i don't believe it. i feel Sony are the biggest innovators in console gaming, so i don't want them to fail with the ps3 because if they do it will be a dark time for gaming in the future.
I'm not a casual gamer, so the Wii doesn't really interest me as a must have item but it does scare me a little because of it success we might see a lot of core game disappear for the more lucrative casual market.
The 360 has Microsoft money, which has aloud them to market their console better than the ps3 and have bought ps3 exclusives. But even though they are a big player i don't really think they bring much to the industry and they seem to copy Nintendo and Sony. It's just Microsoft are really good at crushing their rivals, then with no rivals they releasing rather week products because they have no rivals you have no chose but to buy it.

It's just Microsoft are really good at crushing their rivals, then with no rivals they releasing rather week products because they have no rivals you have no chose but to buy it. Valid points. Sadly, the market for Sony is considerably smaller. Let me put it like this. Nintendo appeals to anybody who doesn't play games and is willing to play stupid amounts of money for over-hyped hardware. I find it sad, because their consoles are truly innovative and have massive potential, but only a few developers actually try to make anything resembling good. The recent Advance Wars and Fire Emblem games are good examples of great games. Instead, we get masses of over-priced tat. Interactive cookbooks, anyone? Thus, every non-gamer and their nan wants one. Microsoft appeals, I think, mostly to gamers who enjoy gaming but can't really afford to buy a PS3 and just want to play games offline. But, Microsoft employ far slyer tactics than Sony, and are more profit driven, and seem to focus less on quality, and it's cost them. I think last year they had to spend £25m on replacing broken consoles. Sony appeals to gamers who don't mind paying a little extra for a far superior experience, and those who want a good quality service. Sony are notoriously user-friendly. Remember how they apologised with free £2k TV's for the lack of consoles when they were released?

Ryuna_08 why u always saying things like this? does it really matter? It feels good to vent... I personally see it not as a console war but an example of the rabid consumerism gripping society.

Well, given the title of the thread and the long wall of text, is it not implied? It doesn't matter anyhoo.

It's okay, we have our opinions, I saw nothing out of conduct posted...
I"m not too strict on off topic threads, it's when it's looking like it is heading toward something it should'nt lead to, that I interupt.

I was told that the PS3 like imploded this holiday season. It wasn't very popular and so in the market Sony money.
Nintendo stands on top with the Wii.. I do agree is a casual gaming system but some of those childish games are really addictive.. trippy Super Mario Galaxy anyone?
360 is chillin in between em both while pumping out some great titles such as Gears of War 2 and Fable 2.
Two biggest things I heard for the PS3 were MGS4 and LBP... nothing else maybe I am just stuck with the other two consoles and nobody around me owns a PS3 or has one just hasn't found a game for it yet.

The 360 and Wii will probably sell more, because of cheap prices, and high demand cause by popularity.
But the PS3 could increase in numbers, because Blue-Ray is winning the digital race, and people won't mind forking over an extra hundred bucks for a good game system.
