Neptune was dipping his feet in a puddle. It wasn't a particularly clean puddle, it wasn't a particularly nice puddle, but he wanted his feet to get wet. It was a Thing he did. Even at his Humans' house, he had splashed in the sink a lot. It was soothing.
And boy, did he need soothing right now.
He had just left home and all of a sudden he became a sidekick to a crazy, blonde violinist who seemed to think his name was 'Aiden'. He was confused, alone, and frustrated. And worst of all, he missed eating fish. He had asked the blonde boy about fish. The blonde boy didn't know that they were edible. But fish were his favourite food ever!
Neptune kicked around in the puddle. Times were hard.

( I had no idea that this was here! I'm so sorry! Forgive me for the slow reply!)
Izzy stalked threw shadows the ground wet, she could see the things that were close to her face, but other than that she couldn't see anything. She scanned the area for any 'blurs' that might appear. That was then she heard the splash and she stopped. She couldn't see the creature that was near her she could only see a small blob. " W...W...Who's there?" She asked timidly. She was never sure of herself since she couldn't see. " D...Don't make me have to eat you!" She announced. She'd never hurt someone but she was trying to scare what ever it was that was in the distance. She blinked a few times and let herself get low the the ground and approached Neptune. When she was finally able to see that it was another cat she let out a heavy sigh of relief. The other wasn't much older than her, " oh..... I'm sorry I didn't mean to be mean" Se said watching Neptune splash around in the puddle.

((No problem! 8D))
Neptune fell over with a splash. Eat him? He hadn't done anything! "I-I'm not edible!" he croaked alarmedly. "I ta-taste t-t-terrible!" Staring wildly around through his now soaking wet bangs, he finally saw the aggressor, a kitten hardly older than he was. Blinking, he relaxed slightly. "S'f-fine." he said nervously, voice still hoarse and scratchy with fright. "Wh-what are you doing here?" This was a more pressing question than who she was. If she was really here to eat him, he wouldn't care what to call her. For once he missed that crazy violinist, it was easier when someone else was doing the talking. Alone, Neptune was painfully shy.
"I-if you don't mind me asking." he added self consciously. He didn't know what he was going to do if she did mind, but it was better than making her mad.

Izzy flattened her ears as the other fell over, " I'm sorry" She muttered to the other, " Ummmm I'm here because I'm lost....." She muttered letting out a sigh. She didn't like talking about how she'd gotten lost. She'd been tossed out of a car, she was the only one of the litter that hadn't found a home and she was left to fend for herself. " I....I... I didn't mean to scare you at all. I just ummmm I just thought you were going to try and hurt me...." She said flicking her ears again. " I can't see much so I assumed......." She trailed off she was talking to much. She didn't even know this person and she was almost telling him her life story, but what could it harm, he didn't look like a bad person after all.

"A-ah." The shorthair felt a stab of guild and got up from the puddle, shaking himself dry as best he could. "I'm not a 'Bad Guy', if that's what you mean..." Desperately thinking of some way to reassure her, he added, "In fact, I... I'm a Good Guy!" Or at least that as what Remi had said. He considered the reliability of the British kitten and added "I th-think I am, anyway."
Assuming she could at least sort of see him if she was talking to him, he moved slowly anyway, so as not to scare her. He knew what it was like to be scared, and it wasn't fun. Carefully, he settled down to sit next to her, flicking his tail as he landed. "A-anyway, how did you get l-lost? Where's your h-home?" He could see a collar on her and though he had run away, some cats preferred life with humans.

Izzy looked up at him and smiled finally being able to see him. " My home was a long ways from here, I got lost lost when...... ummmmm" She sighed as she watched the other, She really didn't like the story. It reminded her of why she couldn't see, " When the people 'threw me away' I had to learn how to do stuff on my own..... I really haven't been around too long so I don't know what to do" She told him. " And I can't really see to try and get my own food, I end up following my nose and eating garbage." She felt really stupid as she explained. She was a stray with no family and no background and nothing to really call her own. " Why are you here?" She asked the other blinking at him if she was telling her story he could tell him..... or at least she thought he should tell her too.

Neptune winced. "S-Sorry." he muttered. He hadn't meant to bring up a painful subject, but he tended to usually say the wrong thing anyway. "I'm new around here too... I just t-took off my collar one day an l-left, though. I j-just felt restless." He was already regretting it. Cats like him weren't meant to be independent, not cats that were so easy to boss about. "Th-then a really weird cat found me and n-now I'm fighting Evil with him. I think. He k-keeps calling me Aiden."
He paused, frowning slightly. Had he introduced himself? "B-by the way, I'm Neptune. Not Aiden, Neptune." He gave her a weak smile. "Wh-who are you?"

Izzy laughed softly, " but Aiden is a nice name" She told him smiling, " My name is Isabella but I rather be called Izzy. Its much easier to remember than Isabella is, And then you don't get confused." She smiled and shrugged to him scrunching herself and scratching at her collar, " How do you get your collar off?" She asked cocking her head to the side. She was getting irratated at her collar, if she could just take it off, she'd do so after she had finished talking to Aiden.........or Neptune what ever he was called. She thought for a moment. " Can I call you Neppy?" She asked the other as she straightened her self out, so that she was not scratching at the collar anymore. She hoped he'd let her give him the nickname then she wouldn't have to remember his many names. It confused her slightly.

Relaxing slightly, Neptune gave a feeble laugh. "But it's n-not my name." he explained. This girl wasn't half as scary as Remi. "I-Izzy? I like that. I like Isabella too, though! It-it sounds sort of musical..." Remi wasn't the only one with an ear for music, and Neptune hummed appreciatively. "Is-a-bell-a. You know, Really cool." The humming seemed to make him more confident and he settled down a little as he spoke.
"Uh..." Neptune thought about how to answer, and settled for complete honesty. "I clawed mine off. It kind of hurt, and I think it left a scar. It took a long time to do it, though." He winced at the memory, it had been the only really difficult part of deciding to run away, and the physical pain had turned out to be only the beginning of his troubles. Feeling all sorts of awkward all over again, he coughed.
Blinking, the shorthair repeated after her. "N-Neppy?" Better than Aiden, anyway. "Yeah. That's okay."

Izzy smiled, " I never thought of it sounding musical...... but it does" She told Neptune smiling as he accepted her nickname for him. She was starting to like the boy more and more she figured that they could get along well she figured. Maybe she'd found a friend. " so you like music?" She asked the other tilting her head to the side and letting one ear flick back to listen to the other things that were going on around them. She was trying to figure out what was going on around them, She was very unsure since she wasn't able to see.

"Y-yeah." Neptune admitted shyly. "I like listening to it and s-sometimes I sing..." Not often, and not when anyone could hear him though. When people were around it always came out croaky. Wanting to change the subject, he noticed her ears flicking and said "D-don't worry! Nobody's here but us. A-and I'm a Good Guy, so I-I'm okay." Ye gods, the madness was catching. Next thing he knew, he'd be off hunting down evil villains like the violinist did. "A-anyway, I'd protect you i-if there was, promise." He bit his lip, glad that Izzy couldn't really see him. If anyone who could see the scrawny shorthair heard his offer they'd burst into laughter. "So!" he said nervously, distracting himself once again, "What about you? Do you like music?"

His confession would have made Izzy blush had she not been covered in fur. " I love music. I try to sing but I really can't" She confessed. The little siamese loved to sing but she couldn't honestly sing to save her life. She let herself relax as they sat there trying to tell herself that she wouldn't have to worry. " IF you don't mind me asking. Who is the really weird cat?" she asked the curosity getting the best of her. The question had been mulling in the back of her mind for some time now and she just couldn't hold the question back any longer. She let her ears flick forward at him as she waited for the answer.

Neptune bit his lip. "Uhhhh..." He didn't like talking about Remi. Remi made life hectic and scary and filled Neptune's head with questions, most of them questions about whether or not Remi belonged in a mental institution. "Well, his name is Remi and he's a crazy violinist and he just sort of... Sort of FOUND me on the first day I escaped from my home and decided to call me Aiden since he said Neptune was a cooler name than Remi and sidekicks weren't allowed to have cooler names and he sort of drags me around and tells me what to do, I don't know how to say no to him!" The words just gushed out, all the frustrations that he had been bottling up. He paused for a breath and suddenly felt very self concious, coughing and looking away. "Er... Yeah. I think what bothers me most is that I don't have much of a say in anything. I mean, having company's nice and I don't mind being a sidekick most of the time, but he acts like I'm some kind of accessory." Seeking to put them on a more cheerful topic, he said "Singing! I like to sing, but I can't really do it in front of people..." But Izzy seemed nice. Maybe he could try? Trying to think of the songs his old owner had listened to, he looked for a song that could calm them down, that sounded calm.
"The light was leaving, In the West it was blue. The children's laughter sang, and skipping just like the stones they threw, the voices echoed across the waves. It's getting late.
The west winds often last too long, but when they calm down nothing ever feels the same. Sheltered under the Kamani tree, waiting for the passing rain. Clouds keep moving to uncover the scene, stars above us are chasing the day away, to find the stories that we sometimes need. Listen close enough, all else fades... Fades away."
He was sure he was forgetting some of it, but it was as close as he could get. And it WAS easier to sing around Izzy, whether it was because she listened or she was near his age or she couldn't really see him. He laughed. "I'm not really the best singer either. But if you like to do it, you should!"

Izzy couldn't help but smile at the song, " That was beautiful Neptune" She told him blinking towards him, " I can't sing well, but I'll try" She muttered clearing her throat some. She began to sing a song she'd heard coming from the bed room of one of the people's she'd lived with once.
She's the smoke she's dancin' fancy pirouettes, Swan divin' off the deep end of my tragic cigarettes she's steam rapping the window pain but never entertaining.
She let her voice trail off as she for got how the words went. " That's all I remember" She mumbled to Neptune feeling horrible for not knowing the rest like he had. he'd sung such a lovely and long song and all she knew was that small part. She was starting to hate herself some. " I'm sorry I don't remember more" she told him looking away from him as she felt more and more disappointing in herself.

As she sang, Neptune recognized the song, and since his memory for music was good, he tentatively chimed in when she faded out.
"...The never-ending swaying haze, Oh, that ever smiling maze, Oh, that ever smiling maze! A ballet."
Finishing up, he gave her a tentative smile she probably could barely see. "D-don't feel bad! Everyone needs help sometimes. Anyway, it's good, my owner used to listen to it real loud." He shook his head. "I'm not good at a lot of things, but I can help you finish a song."
But presently, he remembered there were other things that cats alone on the street needed help with, and he frowned worriedly. "Do you have a place to stay tonight?"
