So Lesner is the new UFC heavyweight champion. Thoughts?
Personally I cant believe it. He got a second round knockout on Randy Couture. Lesner got lucky. He never should have gotten a title shot to begin with, in my opinion. He's had 3 pathetic fights before this one and fighters like Frank Mir, Antonio Nogera, and Fedor Emelianako dominate the heavyweight division and have for a long time. I dont think it will be long before someone knocks Lesner off the top. I just feel for the embarassment Couture much have suffered lossing to someone with so little experiance. But Couture is much older.

Personally, I want Nogera to take the title off of him if Couture doesn't get a rematch. This sucks for Couture... I really believed Couture would dominate Lesnar from start to finish... Hopefully he gets a rematch, and beats the holy hell out of Brock... If not, Nogera will be the one to take the title off of him... Either option would be acceptable, as long as Brock loses.

Meh, to me a fight's a fight, I don't care who wins and loses as long as some one is hurt but it wasn't too bad as it could be worse, if could of had Kurt Angle in it

I just like the fact that people who say that "fake" wrestlers can't compete in the UFC nor be the UFC chsmpion... Lets just say that im glad Lesnar is the UFC champion...

my huge fear is Lesnar is weighing in at around 280lbs right now of muscle, who out there stands a chance against him? with each fight hes gaining experience and prowess, my fear is if he gets confidence and ability from the upcoming bouts he may dominate UFC for many years, though i heard Lashley was interested to bout Lesnar at some point when hes better trained in the MMA world. all in all its an interesting twist for UFC to take, Couture himself has stated he has half his mind on his life post UFC, he doesnt know how long it will be until he retires as he has made his Couture franchise and has the whole range thriving. Maybe its time for Randy to take a backseat to the new guys like Lesnar, maybe Couture needs a return bout and a new strategy to make Lesnar tap.

Maybe its time for Randy to take a backseat to the new guys like Lesnar, maybe Couture needs a return bout and a new strategy to make Lesnar tap. Those are other problems. Lesnar outweighed Couture last I checked. And Couture's ground game isnt the best. Lesnar's ability to "dominate" in UFC depends completly on the kind of guys they put him against. His previous fights have demonstated that he has no jujitsu at all. The only thing it will take to knock him off the top is a heavyweight with a belt in jujitsu and good submissions. Which is one of the reasons I want him to fight Antonio Nogera even though I'm not a huge Nogera fan.

Lesnar has no real big martial arts abilities. He does sends hard punches, but that's it. The second you're on the ground, you're done, because he'll most likely knock you out.
Any guy who comes and send him to the mat or apply a submission maneuver can win easily. Nogueira is probably the only one right now who stands a chance against him. I just hope he wins against Mir now.

Fedor Emeliananko released a statement challenging Lesnar. Unfortunatly I dont see it happening because in the statement the company Fedor works for bashes UFC too and since repeated attempts by the UFC to sign Fedor have failed they've kind of been against bringing him in. But I can still hold out hope that the fight would happen. Fedor might be the top heavyweight in the world.

Was I the only one who thought that KO punch looked really fake? I mean, the ground n' pound afterwards was just vicious but... what got Couture down? It didn't really seem like a big hit to me. I dunno. Anyways, I'm pretty glad Lesnar took it. He seems like a huge powerhouse and frankly, I love watching UFC for all the knockouts.

A punch behind the head. Lesnar did it in time, Couture was still dazed after the knee to the head.
