"Come On MARE!" Ashrialto laughed, sliding to a halt and rearing. He pawed the air and whinnied his challenge, then leapt off again, his uni-like tail lashing in his wake. He galloped along, glancing through the branches above in search of his racing companion.
"Keep up Colt!" Kaishara sang back playfully, diving down to n** at him as he entered a clearing. "You're getting slow, Ash!"
She laughed and soared higher, flapping her wings and speeding forward as Ash dissappeared into the cover of the forest once more. "I'm going to beat you home! Then you have to let Tashika braid your mane for a month!"

 Jia Li stood with her head down nibbling at a bit of grass. She wasn't really hungry at least not yet. It was something to occupy her time for the moment anyway. Her ears flicked slightly as an unfamiliar voice reached them. She lifted her head and blinked, stiffening. Something was coming her way.
She found herself staring slack-jawed as two strange creatures showed up. What was going on? One had wings! The other a rather feline-like tail. She shook her head and pulled herself together quickly. Hoping to catch there attention she cleared her throat thinking shouting to them would be rude.

"Just try and keep up, Songbird!" Ash chuckled as he dodged through a hedge then spun on his haunches, cantering down a new path. The sight of another pulled him up short, practically sitting on his haunches with a fore leg raised in pause.
"Oh.." He coughed, smiling sheepishly. "Hello... Sorry... I didn't know anyone else was out here..."
"What on EARTH are you harping about?" Kaishara muttered, landing at Ash's side in an instant. "We were having a lovely race, don't tell me you're quitting just because you thought you would lose?"
She laughed and leanded over, tugging a strand of his mane in play.
"Not at all, Immareska.." Ash murmured. "We have a new acquaintence... Greetings, Child of the Forest... I am Ashrialto, and this is Kaishara... Do you have a name?"

She did her best not to stare openly at the two despite how much she wanted to. They were very odd, at least in her eyes. Both dark as the evening sky with traces of white and bits of color on their coats. She was most intrigued by the winged ones marking on her face. It was perhaps the most peculiar thing she had seen.
After a moment of observatory and somewhat stunned silence she bowed. "My name is Jia Li." She answered not bothering to point out that it would be rather strange if she did not have a name. It would, after all, be quite rude and that was not how she wished to appear to others. Straightening up she gave a polite smile and continued, "It is a pleasure to meet the both of you."
Some part of her wondered if she should be speaking with them. The seemed nice, very nice indeed, but they also came across as rather odd. It was not like her family was what one would call normal but she imagined she should be at least a little cautious.

Kaishara tapped Ash in the head with one of her wings, rolling her eyes as she muttered at him. "Of course she has a name you idiot! Sorry Jia Li, Ashrialto doesn't always think before he speaks..."
She shrugged and smiled. "I'm Kaishara Immareska, most just call me Kai... It's nice to meet you."
"Owe." Ash muttered at Kai, smacking her haunches lightly with his tail. "That was uncalled for Songbird... Nice to meet you Jia Li, most just call me Ash."
The pair bickered and loved each other like siblings, and it showed. A little odd at times, but always affectionate.

The little filly tried very hard to keep a neutral and friendly expression but she could not stop her eyebrows from creeping up towards her mane at their odd antics. They bickered and knocked each other about but it didn't seem violent at all. What was with them?
"Hello Kai and Ash." She said fighting her brows back down to give herself a more normal expression. "What brings you two out here this day?" No matter what she would not comment on their behavior. Things like that were rude and shouldn't be said. She would only make remarks about them if they brought the subject up themselves.
Not seeing that happening anytime soon she imagined that scripted conversation was going to be all that came out of her mouth for a while.

"Oh we wander a lot." Kaishara replied brightly as she once again tapped Ash with a wing. "We grew up together, and it's always nice to spend time.. So we race, or wander, or go swimming... I apologize if we seem a bit odd."
"Seem?" Ash chuckled and shook his head. "Aye Songbird, I think it's safe to say we're odd... Especially in this foal's eyes... Mostly we're just enjoying the day, Jia Li... And you?"

Her eyes widened curiously at this. They were so active! Racing, wandering, swimming, all were things Jia Lia never really did. She stuck mostly to the forest clearing near her family though there were times she strayed from their sides those times were few and she never went far or did much. "It...is a...splendid...day to enjoy." She murmured averting her gaze to the side. It seemed she was far to easy to read. They had picked up on her confusion.
For a moment she sat in silence well aware that a question had been posed. She wasn't sure she wanted to answer it yet. Their words hadn't sounded harsh in anyway, just playful, but hearing it still felt like a scolding to her. She had been rude. She had found them odd and had made that far too clear, it was not something a young lady should be doing.
Finally she took in a little breath, let it out slowly and turned to face them once more. "I was just listening and having a little bit of breakfast." She said giving her delayed answer.

Kaishara smiled up at the slightly taller Ash, leaning on him compaionably. They were an upbeat, adventurous pair... As likely to have fun as they were to get into mischief... But that -more often then not- was fun in and of itself!
She turned back to the younger female and smiled. "It is quite lovely... What were you listening to?"
She glanced around. "The birds usually sing a lovely chorus of songs, though I think we might have scared them off."
"The little ones, at least..." Ash teased, plucking a strand of her mane. "This big one though... Almost nothing can get rid of her."
He laughed and dodged Kaishara's n**, grin wide and roguish. "Now, now, Reska, it is all in jest..."
He glanced back at the filly, hoping she was not too far from her friends and family. There was always danger in the woods... Concern flickered in his eyes. "You have friends nearby, yes?"

Her eyebrows lifted a little and knitted together slightly as she observed the pair. It was easy to see that they were very close with each other but the teasing was something she wasn't used to. It all sounded friendly and playful but it was strange. "I...was just listening to the world." She said not delaying her answer at all this time. They were odd, yes, but it was bad to let that interfere. Through all the bizarre behavior they seemed perfectly nice. Nice people did not warrant cold behavior from her.
As Ash commented about the large unwanted bird Jia Li let out a somewhat forced and polite laugh. They were probably used to getting reactions of smiles or laughter. They acted like performers after all, perhaps it was all an act to make her more comfortable?
Doubtful.
They hadn't known she had been present earlier and they still acted the same way. It didn't matter. As strange as they were she was starting to warm up to them. "My family is close." She answered with a nod. Friends, truthfully she didn't have any of those. Her brothers and sister were her friends and what splendid companions they made!
