Lex was a bad colt. He knew he was supposed to stay with his family back at their home but he felt this urge to go off and explore. He was sure his brothers would do it too or perhaps they already had and never got caught yet? Lex should of asked one or both to come with him, that way it would be less scary. Not that he was scared or anything.
He trotted along, his pale gray eyes wide as he took in everything he was seeing. It was so big, the world. "Wow!" He gasped. It was his first time away from his family and what an experience he was having so far. Sure, he hadn't met anyone yet but to just see the lands in all their glory.....it was absolutely amazing. Lex grinned, and began to ran through the grass.
He scattered leaves, fallen leaves from the trees. Lex had heard from his parents that the leaves usually stayed on the trees but once fall came, they fell off, just in time for winter. Lex wondered how that could happen. He also wondered what winter was, but he was definitely excited for when it would occur!
The red and black colt began to play a game of kicking leaves in the air and then trying to catch them in his mouth. One leaf got prodded with his horn, he giggled as it remained stuck there. He tried getting it off, but it was refusing to budge. "I'll just get Taigi or Nikolai to get it off for me." He mumbled to himself before grinning. Lex just could not wait till he told them his adventure! They'd be so jealous! He laughed and continued his game.

Amaris giggled, breathless and wasteful of what little air she was capable of sucking in while on the run. Her young hooves tore up the loose soil as she darted across the terrain, giddy that once again her father was preoccupied with her brother, making an easy getaway. Sure her mother was still a hundred percent aware that her daughter stole away for yet another aimless run, but the mare had never once complained about her absence.
So long as the filly was mindful to return home in due time, that is.
The forest shifted around her, casting her into grass rather than a mess of roots and fallen leaves. Laughter reached her ears, her small body skidding to a halt as the soft radars twitched this way and that as she tried to locate the sound. It certainly wasn't her laughing - although moments before she could have assumed the sound was merely an echo of her, this one was most definitely not her fault.
A sharp contrast from her previous self, Amaris picked her way carefully through the flora, head low as she surveyed the area carefully. Too many warning tales had she been told by not only her family, but the mare that sometimes visited their home. Demons, Kalonas, Skinwalkers... how many frightening stories had been spun for the ears of her and her brother?
She stopped short, eyes widening as a sudden flash of black crossed her vision. Again the laughter came, this time accompanied by words. A youngling, by the sounds of it. Like her? Curiosity took hold, pace picking up as she trotted towards the other. Another giggle erupted before she could bite it back when she saw him try to shake off the leaf in vain.
"Umm..." she started, wondering how rude this might be considered to just jump in like this, "do you want any help with that?"

He jumped. He really did jump, only about a foot off the ground but it was still a jump. He gulped, nervous. Whatever it was, it was behind him. But the voice did not sound remotely frightening at all, it only wanted to help him. He slowly turned around and was rewarded by the sight of another foal, a filly. She was mostly brown but he found that interesting considering all his family were mostly black! His mom, dad, his brothers, even the grandparents he heard about had mostly black on them! He smiled at her, though his heart still beat a little faster than usual, he was still nervous.
"Help with what?" He asked, confused. What did she want to help him with? Kicking up leaves? He wondered. He didn't even think of the leaf that was still stuck on his horn. "Do you mean.....kicking up the leaves with me?" Lex still was unsure what exactly she wanted to help him with but he'd find out soon enough.
