Overall, Imriel had no complaints about his life. He had a large and loving family that he was utterly devoted to, and that returned his love tenfold. His family's herd lands were rather extensive, at least insofar as Imriel was concerned. He was still young enough to marvel at distances of more than an hour's travel, but old enough that he knew he should have known better. Ah well. It was hard to mature when he had his brothers always wanting to play. Add that to the fact that he had ever been impish... Well, growing up was not in the immediate agenda. Why should it be?
Yawning as he dozed in the sun, Imriel roused himself slowly. He was bored. So very, very bored. To wake himself up, he attempted to splash a sleeping rabbit with mud, but even the rabbits knew his antics now, and the creature hopped away in a foul mood. Bah! He would have to wander around to the edges of herd lands again if he wanted to find adventure. It was good that Imriel had grown enough to the point where he felt comfortable enough to do so. It was not so long ago that he was reluctant to leave his mother's side, only doing so to playfully tug on one his father's wings, or on the tail of one of his siblings.
Waking up the more he moved, Imriel soon felt himself humming a merry tune. His voice was fairly abysmal, but it was hard to be too terrible with humming. As he hummed, his tail swished, shedding rainbow globes of light that hung in the air for a brief second before dissolving. He was almost tempted to chase his tail, but he was not yet at that level of boredom.
Head bobbing and disturbing his head-feathers, Imriel continued on his merry way, losing his concentration in where he was wandering. It was lucky there was no one in his way, or he would have bulldozed right through them...

Mohana walked slowly through the forest clearing, looking for something to entertain her. A slight pout formed at her lips as she shook a few strands of her crinkled pink and black mane from her eyes. The orange mare was finally free of her father's protection, she could do what she pleased today without worrying about being hauled back home. Mohana had snuck away while her father had gone for a walk with her half-sister, Ozzie.
The sun glistened off a small pond that caught Mohana's attention and she walked toward it, neck arched upward gracefully and she showed confidence in every elegant step. Looking down onto her reflection, Mohana smiled softly. She had gained very little from her parents, appearance wise that was. Her mother was stunning white with pink markings, with deep blue enchanting eyes and was constantly followed by a parade of cherry blossom petals. Her father was dark brown, with white markings and had a very good sense of humor. But he was very protective of his daughter's but , Mohana thought with a small giggle, they were all his beautiful princesses. Mohana had picked up most of her traits from her grandmother, a soquili who's markings resembled a tiger lily. The dark brown horn spiraling upwards, and almost blending in with her mane, was also a gift from her grandmother.
Mohana's mind came back to earth at the sound of steady hoofbeats. They weren't moving overly fast but she looked up from her reflection to scan for another. She had been daydreaming to long, and now barely had time to move out of the strangers way. Something collided with her rump, causing Mohana to spin around quickly but forcing her rear legs up to her knees in the pond. At first all she could see was a trail of disappearing rainbow lights, but soon her dark blue eyes lay on a bright orange male. How rude! Mohana thought to herself, as the male seemed to continue on his way. Grumbling she called to him. " Hey! Excuse me! Please watch were your walking! You walked right into me, and now I'm all wet." Her lips formed a pout, that looked more cute then anything.

It wasn't the most pleasant way to be brought down to earth, but Imriel was ready on his feet, an apology forming at his lips. It died though, as quickly as it came, as he was reduced to a stammering wreck in the face of the mare. Oh dear gods. She was beautiful, and he had managed to run into her like some clumsy oaf. For once Imriel was not thinking of females and the diseases they likely carried. Even her pout was endearing, formed with brown and orange lips. Orange, just like him! They were kindred spirits, at least in color.
Finally Imriel found his voice, though it was rough and stammering. What was in him? He was usually so smooth, but now he found himself lost for words. This wasn't funny at all. How was he supposed to know how to act around a beautiful female? He should have spent more time with his brothers. Perhaps then he would know what to do, but he just wasn't used to asking for advice about the fairer sex.
"I'm terribly sorry. I didn't see you. I wasn't thinking. I"m sorry." It all came out in a rush, the feathered stallion staring down at his hooves, green eyes looking suitably distraught. At least his expression showed that he meant it, even if his words seemed unable to convey the message. Even his head feathers were bobbing in honest repentance, as he continued to stare down at the ground.
Finally Imriel seemed to gather up more of the confident, cocky stallion that he usually was, a brilliant grin flashing across his face. He just had to be himself. That was all, wasn't it? "Though I must say, you're quite lovely when damp. I'm not sure if I would prefer you wet or dry." Well, that sounded a bit stupid, didn't it? And he hadn't bothered to give his name. This was so frustrating!
"I'm Imriel, and once again, I'm sorry I got you wet. I was lost in my own thoughts instead of paying attention to my surroundings. But I have to say I'm not too sorry. Running into you seems to be a treat, at least to the eyes." It still sounded stupid, but he was getting there.

At first, she smiled softly and giggled. He was a wreck, it would seem her beauty had caught his eye and held his attention. Mohanna bowed her head softly. " It's alright. My name's Mohanna. I've had an experience like that or two as well" She could tell he was truly sorry for his actions, and it would only be lady-like of her to forgive him.
Then suddenly, he changed. His body language seemed to gain more confidence, and his words made her smile drop instantly. Of course, would she ever be so lucky to meet an actual male who wasn't cocky, and believe he was all that. To her, his words seemed like he could get any female. Mohana's ears lowered back abit and her tail flicked back and forth as she stepped out of the water. " Why I NEVER." She grumbled, glaring down the male. " I don't care how you like me. I like to be dry Thank You Very Much!"
Grumbling, Mohanna shook her body and flicked her tail so they dried, water speckling onto the male. " I would say it's nice to meet you, Imriel..but any male who thinks I'm some sort of ... eye candy is NEVER a pleasure to meet." She turned away from him and took a few steps before dropping her head to nibble on some grass, tearing it up forcefully from the ground and snorting lightly.

Oh, so she was going to be a challenge, was she? Her temper had changed so quickly that Imriel was instantly aware that her moods were probably volatile, and he found himself up to the challenge. A mare that could keep him guessing- that's what he needed! Not that Mohana wanted to be that mare. Nope, she had just made it abundantly clear that she had had enough of Imriel's presence.
"I'm sorry miss Mohana. I didn't mean to make you think that I thought of you as such. Truly, your company is pleasurable, but your beauty could make even the most mature and well versed stallions forget all he has learned of love and beauty. You make a male tremble in his hooves with just a glance." He was laying it on quite thick, but Imriel didn't think Mohana would mind. Mares liked praised, didn't they? Perhaps his overt sexism before was not what mares had liked, but this was just praise, wasn't it?
"I'm not too good at this, am I?" Giving a rueful chuckle, Imriel again deflated, though his ears remained perked hopefully forward. Well, he couldn't help all his hormones, could he? "It's hard to think of intelligent and witty things to say when your brain is elsewhere." Oh dear. He hadn't meant to say that out loud. Oh dear, oh dear. He was failing utterly at this, wasn't he?

Ears still pinned to her head, Mohana pretended to ignore the male while still listening to him. Stupid males, always wanting something and never thinking.
As Mohana continued to listen, she stopped ripping up the grass forcefully and went back to eating normally. Her ears fell forward in a relaxed postion, and she heard more of what he was saying. Atleast he knew how to compliment her. She smiled inwardly, not letting the relaxed state and his over-kind words show.
Swallowing, the mare went to straightening the bangle on her leg, ensuring that the blue gem faced outward. She did this to try and take her mind off what he was saying and not let her smile show. It was when Imriel finally admited that he was doing a lousy job of woeing her did she let out a tiny, but audible, giggle and let a small smile show through.
She straigtend her neck upward, shaking her slightly curly mane out and looked him. Mohana shook her head and sighed lightly. He was extremely handsome, she admited to herself, even if he was trying to hard and stubborn.
" No, you don't know what your doing. Your trying much to hard. Keep trying like that and either your going to run out of things to say or hurt yourself." Again, she shook her brown and pink mane before looking straight at him and quirking an eyebrow. She tried to pretend she hadn't heard the 'brain' comment but still snorted in resentful anger at the words. Why hadn't she just walked away when she had the chance? Speaking of chance...why was she giving this stallion one?
